Undead Mage from a Cell

Chapter 216: Chapter 214: Ambush at the City Edge

Once Luna explained it, Gu Xi realized that his Yalidov was not absolutely safe.

He still had too few troops.

However, Gu Xi immediately changed the topic.

”Luna, I plan to place the Withered and Corpse Poison Flies in the Magic Plant District, is there enough land there?”

”Probably not. The last time the Magic Plant District was attacked, only one large plot was left. We can’t build two troop training camps there simultaneously.”

”That’s indeed a problem.”

Gu Xi sighed; the territory was still too small. It seems he must find some new sources of land.

Aside from the lack of land in the Magic Plant District, the Hundred-armed Giant Graveyard District also lacked land.

Di Mi needed a Graveyard, Spirit Tomb, and Haunted Mansion, requiring three large plots.

There are only two now, and Gu Xi needs to find a way to squeeze out another plot.

These are all issues!

As they considered this matter, Gu Xi and the others reached the edge of the Magic Plant District.

At this time, the City Gate had already been built. Since it was built in the Magic Plant District, the gate naturally had the style of the Magic Plant District.

The City Gate before them looked as if abandoned for a long time; although the structure was there, it was hidden among the plants.

From afar, it didn’t look like a City Gate at all.

And beyond the City Gate was an endless fog, from the gate, Gu Xi could see black shadows flickering in the fog now and then.

”Shaya, go and test to see if the City Gate works.”

Initially, Gu Xi just wanted to take a look at the City Gate and leave, but seeing this gate, he had to consider if it could be used.

If it can’t be closed during a battle, that would be ridiculous.

Shaya flipped herself over and jumped near the City Gate, gently pushed, and a massive number of vines appeared at the gate, sealing it tightly.

Seeing this, Gu Xi knew he didn’t need to look anymore; this gate was stronger than the ones he had always used, clearly more spiritual.

As the gate reopened, Gu Xi knew that it could be used, and he could deploy troops from different angles in future battles.

While Gu Xi was examining the gate, the Moat outside was also completed.

Unlike the City Gate without even a wall, the Moat cut the Magic Plant District off from the fog.

To cross the river, you had to go through the City Gate.

Oh, wait, there’s no drawbridge at the gate, so even if you see the gate, you can’t cross the river.

The Moat is filled with green strong acid; stepping in it causes a loss of 3 Life per second.

This can be considered the best defense.

Gu Xi also knew that only at Death City level 9 could the Moat and City Wall be summoned to the battlefield.

But the issue is he can’t neglect building the Moat just because it’s only usable at level 9.

If his city needs defense, what about Yalidu City getting attacked?

So Gu Xi won’t foolishly avoid building a Moat and City Wall.

Casting the Killing Water Grass into the Moat, watching it thrive quickly in the strong acid, Gu Xi nodded with satisfaction.

He then instructed Luna, ”Move the construction site of the Lonely Pedestrian Plaza here; since there’s a gate, there needs to be a place to gather troops.

Don’t let the troops stand in the woods.”

”Okay!”

Luna noted down this matter.

Gu Xi then glanced at the Magic Plant District’s enormous root-formed tentacles, ”Is it still unactivatable?”

”Yes, we haven’t found a way to activate Evil Wood Lake.”

Luna was helpless about this too.

For normal construction, there’s always a condition to activate.

But this Evil Wood Tree, formed from tree roots and green liquid, only had an inactive status without an explanation.

This perplexed Luna too.

She had arranged many people to investigate, yet no corresponding method was found.

”You need to keep an eye on this; it will be troublesome if the Magic Plant District isn’t fully utilized.”

”Rest assured, my lord, I’ll handle it.”

Speaking with Luna, Gu Xi jumped onto the Evil Coffin, preparing to head to the Magic Tower.

At that moment, a roar came from the fog, and a new Deceitful Shadow flew out of the mist.

This was the first time Gu Xi saw a Flying Shadowy Squad.

Their numbers were few, but they were quite large.

All were black human heads the size of cars, with hair extending eight or nine meters, trailing behind like salty fish flying through the sky.

As they flew out of the fog, the huge heads screamed and swooped towards the City Gate at the fog’s edge.

”Dammit, won’t they give us a break? Luna, deploy the Stone Golems, Corpse Poison Flies, and Skeleton Mages, and Shaya join in.”

Seeing this, Gu Xi decisively pointed with his Cold Wind Staff.

”Bone Spike!”

The transformed longsword-shaped Bone Spike shot like a Flying Sword at the nearest head.

The flying head didn’t expect Gu Xi to attack proactively, was caught off guard, and got stabbed in the eye with the Flying Sword. The Ice Power on the sword instantly froze the head, which lost control and rolled into the newly built Moat.

Struggling in the strong acid Moat, the head tried to fly up again, but Gu Xi noticed the hair behind it was gone.

The heads saw the aggressive Gu Xi and charged at him, screaming.

Unexpectedly, Di Mi, observing from behind, took action.

Floating like a Ghost, she elegantly approached a head. Her sharp claws emerged, and as she pressed down and ripped, the giant head was split in two.

Black liquid splattered everywhere.

As other heads charged, Di Mi spun around, pinning three multicolored roses onto three black heads.

The blood-red roses shriveled the black heads into mummies, crashing to the ground.

The dark green roses tore the black heads into pieces, turning into black light before hitting the ground, vanishing into the air.

Gray roses bound the black head tightly, using it as nourishment, growing more and more gray roses.

As Di Mi struck, Shaya also made her move.

Holding a Dagger in one hand and an Elbow Stick in the other, she leaped onto a black head, bringing the weapons down in a heavy cross strike on it.
