Three Towers Game

Chapter 1348: Chapter 428: Wen Xishu’s Curse (Part 3)

”Those strange requests, she indeed fulfilled them all. But soon, something bizarre descended upon our city. Many people’s faces were disfigured, some had a bloody tattoo on their chests, and others had their organs filled with feces. The most terrifying thing was that groups of people started jumping off buildings to commit suicide... The streets seemed like a ghost parade, with groups of people letting out hoarse laughter... Laughing until their voices went hoarse, their eyes filled with bloodshot veins, and yet they still laughed...”

”It’s too scary, this whole thing is too terrifying. You all must be careful, if your city encounters a woman who demands ten strange requests, do not! Do not engage with her! Or prevent her from doing anything that harms herself! Otherwise...”

”Otherwise those things will descend upon you like a curse!”

”Now in Mo’en City, everywhere you go, you see rats gnawing on dead bodies... It’s horrifying. Wind City is even worse; it’s filled with monsters. Under no circumstances should you harm that woman, or your city could be in danger too!”

”The curse will descend after the woman dies! Then the woman will appear in the next place. Everyone who voted to harm her, she will not spare any of them, it’s just a matter of time!”

”If you’ve already harmed her, then quickly have her do something that will make her feel goodwill, it can counteract the upcoming curse!”

There were over a dozen similar posts.

They are all narrating the recently surfaced ghost stories from different perspectives.

The content of the ghost story is the same — a strange woman who fulfills the public’s ten requests, accomplishing ten things within her ability.

Then the eerie curse descends upon the crowd in their revelry.

There are many replies in the posts, some witnessed the events, others participated in the voting, and some just heard rumors...

In short, there are all kinds of replies, some are skeptical, others are rational analyses...

These people—

are all Wen Xishu.

These people perfectly meet the requirements of Scorpion Knife; they do not belong to any well-known characters, they are purely passersby.

But the individuals of the public can be weak to the point of being ignored, yet once they become a source of fire, the blaze they kindle can burn the whole world.

Especially since Wen Xishu also utilized the game itself.

The cards played by the Judge, permission cards, hotspot cards, the impact they have on the public all became methods Wen Xishu used to persuade the people.

And Wen Xishu’s approach to breaking the situation was quite simple—fear.

The internet can amplify the darkness within people’s hearts, inherently, because no one knows each other across the network cable.

Everyone seems to be able to, therefore, say things without accountability.

If this point can be resolved, it will make everyone start to watch their words and actions.

Under the apocalypse, everyone’s mentality is indeed very unstable, the order of life has begun to collapse, it is hard to have goodwill as in peaceful times.

Wen Xishu also leveraged the apocalyptic era backdrop.

At the very beginning, before the hotspot card was played, he discovered that the biggest discussion in the forum was about various ghost stories.

Obviously, at this time point, many people had personally experienced some paranormal events.

This was good because the paranormal events he concocted would gain more believers.

The Judge was astounded:

”How can there be such a post!”

Wen Xishu said:

”I don’t know, it’s quite interesting. After I played the terror card... the post’s popularity surged.”

The Judge looked at Wen Xishu:

”You did it? How did you manage that?”

Wen Xishu shrugged innocently:

”I’m a legitimate player, I don’t cheat, how could I manage these things.”

The Judge couldn’t imagine Wen Xishu having this ability either.

In fact, even Wen Xishu felt that... Scorpion Knife was too targeted, there was a feeling that... Scorpio wanted to teach Aquarius a little lesson.

The situation took a sudden turn.

On the forum, various regretful and god-pleasing comments began to appear, the replies below were a bunch of ”receive, receive, receive.”

Someone posted a picture of the national flag, someone posted an image made up of four big characters that ward off all evils, and another posted a picture of a certain actor who had been dead for many years and specialized in playing a Taoist priest catching zombies.

Others started to genuinely repent.

And the content of the vote began to turn friendly at this moment.

Just when Ning Shu thought she was about to suffer torment...

She saw many positive voting options, and these options’ votes overwhelmingly surpassed the prank ones.

Things like seeing a psychologist, confessing to the man she liked, having a meal she had always longed to eat, traveling to a certain place...

For things involving expenses, the netizens even suggested reimbursing her. Letting her not worry about money, just do what she wanted to do.

It gave a sense of disorientation, turning from Ning Shu fulfilling the netizens’ ten requests to the netizens fulfilling Ning Shu’s wishes.

At this moment, Ning Shu was stunned.

The Judge was also stunned.

Can it really be like this?

Justice and morality did not take effect... but fear did?

Wen Xishu laughed:

”You’re right, it’s time to start the second round of the game.”

The card that made the public think rationally had already been played by Wen Xishu, people’s chances of uncovering the lie were slim, after all, in the apocalypse, any paranormal could occur, and the public had mentally accepted this point, and this fear was enough to awaken their goodwill.

Even if everyone realized that the curse post was a lie... it didn’t matter, once scared, doing certain things would be approached with trepidation.

Just like how an actor stepped on the statue of Lord Guan in a movie years ago, even if not superstitious, they later spent a lot of money fixing the statue of Lord Guan.

In this world, most people still hold the attitude of ”rather believe it exists” towards mysterious forces.

The Judge suddenly realized that whatever card he played couldn’t change the current situation.
