Three Towers Game

Chapter 1312: Chapter 415: Fighting Hunger and Thirst (Part 2)

But very soon, a wave of helpless confusion surged up in his chest again.

This has only just started, it’s only the second level, and already a lot of people are dead. Can he really hold out?

[You really are a cruel guy to yourself. If you can hold back your craving for water for the next thirty minutes, then the owner of the water will let you go. Want a little teaser? Next, a gourmet with an extreme pursuit of and curiosity toward fine cuisine will prepare an exquisite dinner, waiting for you, the hungry ones.]

Dinner should be the third level, right?

Wen Xishu suddenly had an idea.

Reid said:

”I feel like I can’t stand it for even a minute, and I still have to endure this fucking thirst for half an hour? Half an hour?”

He was a bit desperate. Thirsty to this degree, while listening to the sound of water rushing, he really felt it was torture.

Wen Xishu said:

”We need to find something to do. The next round is eating. Looks like what they’re testing is... hunger?”

”Let me make a reasonable bold guess: we might run into a contestant like Hannibal.”

”Either way, we have to do something.”

Reid said:

”I really want to burn these Evil Spirits to death.”

Wen Xishu started rummaging through the cupboards in the kitchen, and soon he found a delicate glass wine bottle.

This bottle was clearly meant for some expensive high-end wine, because the bottle itself was a work of art.

Many times, what they sell as wine is really the bottle. The more expensive the wine, the more so. Drinking is one kind of satisfaction, but opening the complicated packaging and revealing the bottle is another kind of satisfaction.

In Pig the Third’s place, aside from not having a door, everything else actually looked pretty legit.

Wen Xishu said:

”Don’t forget, we not only have to survive, we also have to earn points. If our score is too low, the Unknowable will catch up to us.”

Reid didn’t get it:

”So what are we supposed to do?”

Wen Xishu said:

”We need to prepare for the next levels.”

Wen Xishu filled the delicate glass bottle with water from the sink.

”What are you doing?”

”We can’t drink this water. Can you even disinfect that bottle?” Reid asked a very cute question.

Wen Xishu shook his head:

”Of course it’s not for us to drink.”

The thirty minutes finally passed.

When the time ended, that intense feeling of thirst suddenly vanished.

Even though they hadn’t drunk any water, both Wen Xishu and Reid felt as if they had just had a long, satisfying drink; they were both very comfortable.

When a person is normal for too long, they stop feeling the happiness of being normal itself.

But if they get sick once in a while and recover quickly, they’ll savor that feeling of having absolutely nothing wrong with them.

There was a knock at the door.

”Gentlemen, my Patriarch has already prepared a sumptuous dinner. Please come with me to my Patriarch’s residence.”

Outside the door, an old butler with a Mediterranean hairline and bloodshot eyes waited elegantly.

Wen Xishu didn’t hesitate much and opened the door directly.

Seeing the red pupils of the old butler, he suddenly thought of a vampire.

”If you would be so kind as to lead the way.” Wen Xishu was quite polite.

Right now Reid was like a fresh recruit, only feeling that Wen Xishu had gotten into the groove way too fast.

[You have accepted the invitation and successfully resisted your bodily instincts. I acknowledge your willpower and will award you five points.]

[Now, you will have five minutes of travel time.]

Wen Xishu now had twenty points. He still needed forty more to get to sixty.

Next, he was planning to make a big score.

There were five minutes left before they reached the ”gourmet’s” room. Wen Xishu guessed these five minutes could probably be used to talk with the butler or something.

”By the way, Mr. Butler, can I ask you a few questions?”

”Of course, ask whatever you like.”

The butler was very polite; Wen Xishu could tell from the words he used when knocking and the posture he held after the door opened.

A character placed here like this had to have some use.

”In this town, is there only one resident in each house?”

Wen Xishu actually hadn’t thought of any especially valuable questions. After thinking a bit, he decided to ask about the ”structure” here.

Just now the scene hadn’t changed at all, but Pig the Third vanished and was replaced by the monster ”Chu Renmei” in the kitchen and bathroom.

Pig the Third should have possessed great brute strength that kept the other monsters from invading, but Chu Renmei appeared after Pig the Third disappeared.

Wen Xishu was very curious.

The old butler did indeed give an answer:

”By time slot, sir.”

The sentence was very short; clearly the butler was unwilling to reveal too much, but out of politeness, he had to say a little.

Wen Xishu understood at once.

Sure enough, the same house could belong to one person at night and another in the dead of night...

”Then is there a time slot where a house might have two owners appear at the same time?”

”Or is there a way to wake some guy up early?”

The old butler suddenly stopped walking and said with a serious expression:

”Sir, I refuse to answer your question. Please focus on your journey.”

Wen Xishu shrugged.

The five minutes passed in the blink of an eye.

In that instant, the scene began to change.

[The dinner has begun. You step into the gourmet’s house, and in the warm and luxurious dining room, you have already taken your seats.]

After a slight bout of dizziness, Wen Xishu and Reid indeed found themselves seated at a round table.

At this moment, two familiar faces appeared on the huge screen.

Maybe not that familiar before, but now they were familiar—very familiar.

The gourmet was standing beneath the screen, introducing the food with great interest.

This gourmet really did have Mads Mikkelsen’s face. Once Wen Xishu saw that face, he didn’t even need to look at the screen to know what tonight’s delicacy was going to be.
