Three Towers Game

He sat down at a table.

But that face without any features seemed to start to show slight fluctuations.

At this moment, Wen Xishu suddenly received a prompt.

[Will you help humans or help ghosts?]

This sentence flashed through Wen Xishu’s mind. He was very familiar with this format of guidance.

This game is much more complicated than he imagined.

”It seems that not only humans, but the lineup I can choose from... also includes ghosts?”

”The perfect ending is for everyone to survive... or to kill those who deserve to die? But if it’s the latter, then it seems too simple.”

In a game of resisting ghosts, letting the ghosts in is ridiculously easy.

”Everyone has a story, and it’s even possible that the ghost who died at the bar and the red-clothed female ghost he encountered correspond to someone here within.”

”Unearth their stories, let those who deserve to live survive, let those who deserve to die perish?”

With the guidance of helping humans or helping ghosts appearing, Wen Xishu suddenly felt the situation become complicated, because the perfect ending started to become uncertain.

Everyone’s gaze was on the ghost in the corner.

Wen Xishu said:

”If we mistakenly kill a good person, it will cause them to turn into the ghostly form of a spirit, and this kind of ghost can make us see illusions, sow discord among us...”

”But it’s still uncertain whether it has other abilities, and if spirits increase, our safe corners will decrease. It’s very possible we’ll be wiped out in the end.”

”And if our opinions aren’t unified, some drink red wine, others drink blue wine...”

”Then the door will open, outside visitors will come in, and... will become substantial ghosts.”

”Notice, people who die, will become ghosts in spiritual form, and unified opinions will create substantial ghosts.”

If it has no features, it’s obviously a ghost.

The ghost soaked entirely wet, its skin deathly pale, like it had been immersed in water for a long time, used its featureless face to stare at Zhang Qiang.

Wen Xishu continued to analyze:

”With no physical form, spirits can be weakened just by keeping distance.”

”But for ghosts with physical form... we’re still unsure what it will do?”

Doctor Chen Ming’s eyes showed a hint of unusual color.

Right after Wen Xishu’s voice fell, nurse Xiaoya suddenly cried out:

”Ah!!!”

She was frightened, everyone followed her gaze and saw a terrifying scene.

The Water Ghost, with a featureless face, suddenly changed from subtle fluctuations to violent writhing.

In no time, an eye appeared on the ghost’s face.

Though it was only one eye, everyone seemingly guessed that this face would soon sprout other features.

”Do you all think... whose eye does that look like?” Father Old Zhou suddenly asked.

His question was towards everyone, but his gaze fell on Xiaoya.

Soon, everyone understood why he looked at Xiaoya.

That Water Ghost... had a woman’s eye. It even replicated her makeup.

Despite the face possessing only that eye, everyone could see that the eye was identical to Xiaoya’s.

Xiaoya screamed out, trembling in fear, also because she found the eye very similar to her own.

Men and women are different; men don’t often look in the mirror, at least most don’t. If a man walked down the street and met someone identical to himself, he might be afraid, but his fear would be delayed.

But women are different, Xiaoya is very sure...

Even if she just glanced, she was certain that the eye growing on the Water Ghost’s face was her own!

She was so scared she fell off her seat.

At that moment, Wen Xishu looked at Xiaoya:

”Xiaoya, don’t be afraid yet. It hasn’t moved, better avert your eyes, don’t let the uncanny valley effect terrify you.”

”Tell me the truth, I can help you.”

Xiaoya nods desperately, tears in her eyes.

Wen Xishu’s gaze also fell on Zhang Qiang, evidently, Zhang Qiang seemed to be quite puzzled.

Because he didn’t know why this would happen, when the Water Ghost entered, he felt a sudden urge in his bladder.

But... nothing happened next.

The ghost came for him, yet it didn’t seek him out. He didn’t know what was going on. He’s alive, but it looks like the young girl is about to have trouble.

Wen Xishu said:

”Tell me, do you have any relationship with Zhang Qiang?”

Xiaoya still shook her head:

”I don’t know... don’t know Officer Zhang.”

Wen Xishu continued to ask:

”Have you been to the docks?”

Xiaoya still shook her head: ”I have not been, really, I absolutely have not been!”

Wen Xishu asked again:

”So you are absolutely certain, unrelated to Zhang Qiang? You completely don’t know why the ghost’s first eye is just like yours?”

Finally, Xiaoya nodded.

Wen Xishu’s gaze sharpened:

”If you’re telling the truth, it can be basically determined—”

”When both approving and disapproving opinions exist, the materialized ghost let in... it’s different from spirits that can only create illusions; it will find a doppelgänger.”

”Xiaoya, you are the doppelgänger.”

”As for why it’s you, I’m thinking it might be related to your drinking of the wine that refused its entry.”

”Simply put, drinking the red wine, determining it’s a ghost, represents you not wanting it to come in...”

”Then, it will hold a grudge.”

Chen Ming asked:

”But several others also drank the red wine.”

Wen Xishu shrugged:

”It’s a probability issue. Xiaoya’s luck wasn’t too good, just this simple; otherwise, without any connection to Zhang Qiang, how could she be targeted by a ghost?”
