Three Towers Game

Wen Xishu’s impression of Aquarius is that she’s a wicked woman, a pure person who enjoys collecting evil people.

”It seems like I have to protect quite a few people.”

”And also, the words ’ferocious ghost plague’ are quite strange. Is it saying... ghosts are as terrifying as a plague? Or is there really a plague named ferocious ghost coming?”

Wen Xishu furrowed his brows.

Analyzing blindly like this naturally won’t lead to any conclusions.

Facts have proven that mission interpretations and the mission performances you actually accomplish could be two completely different stories.

Wen Xishu didn’t think much else and activated the login device.

...

...

The scene abruptly changed, and after a familiar dizziness, Wen Xishu opened his eyes.

Not long ago it was a lively market, but suddenly he found himself in a bar where lights flickered, bringing a chilling feeling.

If viewed from outside, the bar stands alone on a secluded street corner, a two-story brick building.

Sign ”Safe Haven.” It doesn’t really sound like a bar name, more like the name of a beverage shop.

Some letters on the bar sign’s neon lights are missing, flickering in the fog-laden Halloween night, emitting ominous ”buzz” sounds.

The heavy oak door is shut tightly, rusted metal grates installed outside.

Wen Xishu looked around, it was dim and cramped.

Internally, it lacked any nightclub atmosphere, only lit by a few emergency lamps at the bar and some flickering candles.

The air was murky, mixed with remnants of cheap alcohol, sweat, and a faint musty smell.

This seemed like a bar on the verge of closing down.

Just as Wen Xishu suspected, there were other people in the bar.

The others were also sizing up Wen Xishu.

But soon their gazes changed again.

The first to speak was a middle-aged man with a fierce demeanor.

”Ladies and gentlemen, what do you want from bringing me here? Do you even know, I’m a police officer?”

The man was nearly 50, physically robust, with a fierce face and a vigilant look in his eyes.

Wearing a durable jacket, his waist was bulging. Wen Xishu guessed this person had a gun.

Logically, Wen Xishu shouldn’t care about guns, but without the Three-phase Power panel, being shot in the head would surely be fatal.

”You mean… you were abducted here too?” a doctor spoke up.

The speaking man was in his 40s, gentle demeanor, wearing rimless glasses, a crumpled shirt, and a sweater vest with a stethoscope hanging around his neck.

Upon hearing there’s a policeman, he clearly breathed a sigh of relief.

”My name is... Chen Ming, I’m a doctor. Actually, this bar is quite familiar to me. After my wife’s death, I often drink a little here because Safe Haven is where I first met her.”

”But everyone, I’m also quite confused how I woke up here suddenly.”

Seeing the doctor take out his ID and introduce himself, the fierce-looking policeman’s hostility somewhat diminished.

”My name is Zhang Qiang.”

The policeman only revealed his name, it’s clear he was somewhat surprised about suddenly appearing here.

Wen Xishu realized... perhaps everyone woke up and suddenly came here.

Apocalyptic end? Everyone together playing a survival-type game? The kind related to ghosts?

He found it quite interesting.

Quickly, the third person started speaking.

This was the oldest person here, nearly sixty. Wen Xishu stared for a long time, confirming it was just a stranger, not the tea-selling elder.

”You... can just call me Old Zhou. I, like everyone else, suddenly came here. Are we... all abducted people?”

Old Zhou spoke with some trepidation.

He was around sixty, hair white and sparse, wearing a washed-out old priest robe, with a worn cross hanging on his chest, and clutching a string of worn-out prayer beads, his knuckles white from gripping too tight.

The fourth person was the youngest, a girl.

”I... everyone can call me Xiaoya, I’m a nurse... I don’t know how I came here, I have never been here.”

Xiaoya was in her early 20s, face haggard, eyes dark-circled, subconsciously rubbing the cuffs of her nurse uniform.

Wen Xishu silently noted down information.

”No matter what happens next... Doctor Chen Ming is the most suspicious.”

”Everyone else doesn’t know the bar, but Chen Ming is the only one who has been here.”

Of course, there were not just these few people present, soon a man named Ah Fei, around Xiaoya’s age, spoke:

”My name is Ah Fei, I’m a tech nerd. I was playing games at home, now I wonder if I suddenly died, why did I wake up and see you all... and this place I’ve never been.”

Ah Fei was in his early 20s, pale and thin, huddled in a hoodie, wearing headphones almost out of power, a laptop spread before him, also nearly out of battery.

The laptop screen seemed to display some kind of circuit diagram.

The last person, the sixth person also spoke:

”So to say, you are all victims?”

The sixth person was around 50, well-maintained but unable to hide recent disarray, wearing an expensive cashmere sweater, a gold watch on his wrist, with eyes sharp and calculating, also carrying a bit of arrogance.

”I am Li Wei, a merchant, and I’m very busy. I’ll leave first.” Seeing this was only a dilapidated, eerie atmosphere bar, he didn’t think this was a strong captivity.

So he stepped to the door, trying to open the bar’s door.

Everyone finished introducing themselves.

Wen Xishu suddenly stopped Li Wei:

”Mr. Li, don’t rush to leave. I’m Wen Xishu, a teacher. If you go out now, something bad might happen.”
