Three Towers Game

Wen Xishu made an assessment as well—

At present, in the current timeline, he is a chess player, engaged in a special mission, playing chess against a powerful being.

The chess pieces are his old friends from the Bunker.

The chessboard seems to grant powerful attributes to some based on their characteristics.

Since the territory symbolizing the prison has been conquered by Nissen…

To free the people in the prison, Nissen must retreat, abandoning the prison, and allow the opponent to conquer it.

This way, a prison break can be executed.

Wen Xishu said:

”Nissen, this isn’t my clone. By the way, what are your attributes?”

Nissen said:

”Attribute of endurance, invincibility, and strength supremacy. Three attributes, bro, I’m the decisive piece!”

Though the specific situation is still unclear, it sounds like Nissen’s attributes make him a rare piece.

Wen Xishu asked:

”Who will be responsible for the prison break?”

Nissen said, ”Xiaoyun is ahead, contending for a special area—the hospital. Zheng Zai, due to his special attributes, is guarding the food processing plant.”

”I don’t know who’s responsible for the prison break either, because there are quite a few participants.”

Is this some kind of Level 7 mission?

Wen Xishu actually doesn’t like acting with too many people since he has too many secrets.

But it seems quite a lot of people are involved in this mission.

”Who am I playing chess against?”

”Leo,” Nissen revealed, leaving Wen Xishu extremely surprised.

Even Wen Xishu himself was shocked.

Am I contending against the supposedly strongest Leo?

No…

Leo’s abilities are powerful, undeniably strongest in frontal battles. This chess match, in fact, might have acquired some external force.

My duel with Leo… has been gamified.

Thinking this through, Wen Xishu seemed to understand, this is the Three Towers War.

Perhaps he allied with Scorpio. Initially, Wen Xishu didn’t have a good impression of Scorpio, but Scorpio’s deliberate humility and self-proclaimed younger brother gesture… somehow made him feel they were on the same line.

”Leo is very strong. Defeating him head-on is impossible. If the chess pieces were soldiers, commanders, and kings, then Leo must be the king.”

It was Sirius’ voice.

Sirius continued:

”Leo’s power is related to his dominance. The greater his dominance, the more powerful he is. In the future, you seem to have become his enemy. This game, the likelihood of defeating him head-on is low, but it will weaken him…”

”Just like if I escape, I won’t defeat Pisces but will weaken Pisces.”

”Once Leo’s myth of invincibility is broken, Leo’s prestige and dominance will naturally decrease, weakening him as well.”

Wen Xishu instinctively nodded.

”On the chessboard, king doesn’t meet king, but that’s in chess. In reality, some chess games are only about dominance, with no difference in the pieces.”

”But evidently, this time the chess game is different, each piece is unique. Unlike Go, where all pieces function equivalently.”

”One must properly utilize each piece… as Nissen suggested if his attributes were used to guard the library, the library’s attribute would, instead, decline.”

Wen Xishu realized the significance of the Leo pattern.

In other words, this was originally Leo’s prison, but now it’s been conquered by Nissen.

Next, Leo is bound to strike back.

”What’s the function of occupying the prison?” Wen Xishu asked.

Nissen replied:

”The prison’s function is to periodically detain some pieces, potentially even detaining the opponent’s top pieces.”

Wen Xishu understood.

It’s like a card game—once the prison is occupied, the opponent periodically loses cards.

Perhaps inexplicably, the opponent’s trump card is taken away.

Thus, this place becomes a battleground of must-earn.

In such a place, future me arranges Nissen to guard…

Presumably, future timeline Nissen has improved significantly.

Wen Xishu didn’t speak further, patiently waiting.

Soon after, Nissen left the prison.

Wen Xishu waited for about thirty minutes when he suddenly saw a woman emanating a scarlet aura appearing, covered in Leo patterns.

The woman with tied hair somewhat resembled Ah Miao, but looked more like Lara Croft from Tomb Raider, albeit more fierce-looking.

Upon her arrival, Wen Xishu noticed… the ground color around the prison changed.

The blue turned red.

Making the original lion emblem more vivid and sinister.

Wen Xishu naturally shrunk back into the corner. Not drawing the attention of this new prison warden.

This warden’s power is extraordinary, but it seemed, guarding the prison was still more suited for Nissen.

The new prison warden might surpass Nissen in strength, but her attributes seemed better suited for conquest and battle rather than defense.

It manifested when Nissen retreated, and both the prisoners, including Wen Xishu himself, began regaining strength.

Yet, even so, escaping without external help is very difficult.

Especially since Wen Xishu could sense that this woman was a major figure under Leo.

Her power was exceptional. The aura she exuded was far beyond any Red House member encountered thus far.

The woman coldly glanced inside the prison, where some former teammates of hers were as well.

Yet, she didn’t care at all.

Wen Xishu silently waited, wondering who would rescue him.

The suspense didn’t last long; when Wen Xishu saw who came, he was still shocked.

”Hahahahahaha… there are indeed many variables in this chessboard!”

The laughter of an old man reached them, a laugh that made the elders in the Bunker have headaches.

But outside the Bunker, this laughter gave Wen Xishu an immense sense of security.

Outside the scarlet prison, a new ”chess piece” appeared out of nowhere.

Though Wen Xishu didn’t know, what kind of chess game this mission was playing or the mechanism of moving the pieces…

But he just knew, the one to save him was a crucial piece, a piece that could indeed conquer any area.

When suddenly enveloped by a terrifying aura, even Sirius wondered:

”Are those the twelve people?”

In Sirius’ understanding, only those twelve people could exude such aura.

Sirius felt shocked, who exactly is this guy?

Capable of being Pisces’ variable, playing against Leo, attracting the intervention of other zodiac signs?

But when that aged laughter echoed and the figure appeared, Sirius was even more surprised:

”This isn’t them… This isn’t them! Who is this? How can someone else reach this level?”

The Bunker’s legend, Albert Napolitano appeared.

The old man, with a gaze as if overlooking the world, looked at the new top-level Red House prison warden.

The woman seemed slightly surprised—choosing to break into the prison instead of occupying…

She gradually realized that the prison must have spawned a significant piece from another side.

She immediately executed random execution mode.

Thus Wen Xishu could see, more monsters began to dissolve.

Yet, by this time, Wen Xishu felt no fear at all.

Because Albert had arrived.

The Red House erupted with a scarlet aura, striking ferociously, trying to block the prison-breaker.

But the old man’s laughter had already overshadowed her full force aura.

”Young lady, what weak punches. To guard here, you’d better have your king come!”

The woman shouted angrily, her fierce counterattack like a mountain avalanche.

Yet, the old man easily parried everything.

Such arrogant words, such carefree laughter, facing Leo, could a human reach this extent…

Sirius felt only shock.

”Your future seems thrilling.”

Wen Xishu replied with a smile:

”Otherwise, wouldn’t it be a wasted trip?”

In fifteen seconds, Albert finished the battle against the top-level Red House.

No procedure, purely crushing with strength. The various bizarre techniques of the Red House, against what seemed like ordinary punches, all shattered like soap bubbles blown by a child.

The prison bars vanished at that moment, allowing countless monsters to escape. Naturally, this had a considerable impact on the game.

But it didn’t matter, as a piece, if it perished there, everything would change.

Albert naturally received Wen Xishu:

”Let me think… which timeline are you from, ah, probably at the time when Deceit Tower Academy just opened?”

Albert’s observational skills were impressive.

Wen Xishu couldn’t help asking:

”Old principal… what on earth is going on here? How did someone like you get involved in this?”

”Is this Deceit Tower? Or Slaughter Tower? What kind of mission is this? Why would you and I appear in the same scene?”
