Three Towers Game

Block 19.

The city is divided into thirty-four blocks. Though the city is small, each area is highly prosperous and extremely multi-dimensional.

Huge billboards cut the space into three-dimensional segments.

Amidst numerous electronic screens, billboards, and neon lights, there is a relatively small plaque that reads ”Psychological Clinic, Block 19”.

Generally speaking, those who come here for inquiries are severe mental disorder patients.

At least, that’s what the doctor told Wen Xishu.

It’s said that once you come here, your file will be kept, making it hard to find a job in the future. Of course, you could opt for a lobotomy and become a superior worker in the factories.

Working on the assembly lines, doing tasks that don’t require thinking, just robotic, repetitive actions, relying on muscle memory for high-end jobs.

”You’re saying... everyone who comes here is at risk of serious mental illness? Do you think I look like one?” Wen Xishu asked the doctor.

The doctor’s smile was very stiff:

”Of course.”

”But I was just slacking off while sweeping,” Wen Xishu said.

The doctor shook his head, but due to poor memory, he had a voice-operated standard procedure guide installed in his Bluetooth headset. Wen Xishu heard it say:

”The degree of head-shaking should not be too big, according to the head-shaking standards for the medical profession.”

Although the sound was low, Wen Xishu’s senses were extremely acute at the moment. Upon hearing this, Wen Xishu wanted to capture the... pain in the doctor’s eyes.

Could it be that being tortured and constrained would make one feel at ease?

But Wen Xishu quickly remembered, he was wrong.

Because the joy and enjoyment appearing in the doctor’s eyes also made him adhere even more to his behavioral operation manual.

Wen Xishu remembered that whenever he completed certain compliant actions, he would feel immense pleasure.

The dog training mechanism.

Make a mistake, get punished, do it right, get rewarded.

Once a reflex is established, the dog will become obedient.

Undoubtedly, this island... or rather this mental world, all the citizens are very obedient.

As long as within twenty-four hours, they do not realize they shouldn’t be so obedient, Sirius... will most likely become very obedient too?

But what exactly was that word?

Chaos? Irregularity? Selfishness? Variable?

Wen Xishu thought of many words, but still couldn’t recall.

Seeing Wen Xishu like this, the doctor commented:

”No wonder you can independently trigger a two percent butterfly effect fluctuation; sir, you scare me.”

”What do you mean by slacking off? You should know, this society follows a unified will. How can we slack off when we should be doing something?”

”The emergence of such thoughts will corrode you bit by bit, like a virus!”

”Your condition is too severe. The last time I saw a case like yours... was a student who chose an answer randomly for a multiple-choice question he didn’t know, instead of leaving it blank as instructed by the operation manual.”

”This is too serious. It caused a stir throughout the school, and he was expelled. His parents were also advised by the Parents’ Operation Manual to sever ties with him...”

”As predicted by the operation manual, he became a criminal. Then... was executed as justice.”

The doctor indeed feared Wen Xishu. Would such a person make some unexpected move? Could he introduce variables into this well-ordered, harmonious world?

He provided his suggestion.

Of course, the suggestion also came from the operation guidelines manual.

Wen Xishu frowned.

This action scared the doctor again.

Wen Xishu also realized that it was wrong to do so. He should now accept the suggestion and let the doctor help schedule the surgery at the Fourth Hospital. Go to Block Eleven for a minor lobotomy.

Thus, he would become the envy of countless people—becoming a top worker in the factory.

Isn’t there something wrong with this world?

Moreover, a student making a choice on a question he didn’t know, theoretically, is not wrong. Selecting an answer might not be right, but leaving it blank is certainly wrong.

But inexplicably, whenever Wen Xishu delved into deep thought, he would get a headache. He recalled that before, whenever he thought deeply about women and gender, he would get a headache.

Only when the inconsistency is high enough can answers be found.

But the problem is, it seems there is some external force now restricting Wen Xishu from thinking deeply.

He could only rely on instinct to deal with this world.

”Doctor, do you have your own thoughts?” Wen Xishu couldn’t help but ask.

The doctor looked at the butterfly effect dosage table and noticed that Wen Xishu’s butterfly effect dosage had increased to 0.025.

Damn it, rounding up, that would be three percent!

A butterfly effect variable of two percent had turned into three percent after coming here. How would he work from now on?

Not to mention the shame. Being a psychologist was already a highly despised, dangerous job, where saying a wrong word could turn the doctor into a patient.

In fact, the doctor had applied for a lobotomy many times, but due to the need for senior positions and his insufficient butterfly effect variable, his applications were denied.

He didn’t quite understand before, but now, he seemed to get it. The man in front of him actually asked if he had his own thoughts?

This was a question he could never dare ask anyone else.

The doctor decided to follow the content of the operation guidelines manual:
