The Versatile Master Artist

Koizumi Katsuko shrugged: ”It’s said that they’re about to set up their own art fund; supposedly buying in will make money. Many people around my parents are trying to get a ticket to get on board.”

”A ticket?”

Koizumi Katsuko thought for a moment: ”The estimated landing scale of the Oil Painting Fund’s product will exceed five billion dollars, with a personal investment starting threshold of six million US Dollars. The background checks for interested investors are also very strict.”

There are very few public funds in the art sector that target ordinary people.

Over 90% of financial products are exclusively private equity funds aimed at the upper class.

Private equity is a rich man’s game.

The investment threshold for ordinary people wanting to participate in any reputable private equity fund generally fluctuates around 200,000 US Dollars within the industry.

A six million US Dollar threshold is quite exaggerated even in the private equity sector.

Gu Weijing didn’t have a significant reaction to this outrageous number.

He’s the typical child from a poor family who hasn’t yet achieved a class leap.

No channels, no capital.

Even if Koizumi Katsuko told him insider information about the Oil Painting Fund now.

Gu Weijing also couldn’t gather six million US Dollars, so he just considered it as hearing a story.

”Is there still any fund in the world that guarantees a profit once you buy in? Have they hired Buffett to manage it?”

Gu Weijing was puzzled.

”The reputation of ’Oil Painting’ is better than Buffett’s. If you take the goose that lays golden eggs at home public, you could make quite a bit of money too; it’s just unclear how long those golden eggs will last.”

Koizumi Katsuko shook her head.

No one is foolish; smart people clearly understand the long-term impact this could have on the magazine company’s future.

But making money, well, there’s nothing shameful about it.

Even knowing it’s a Ponzi scheme or pyramid scheme, many are willing to take a gamble; the risks are matters for ten, twenty years down the road.

Anyway, making money in the short term is certain, and everyone is gradually becoming frenzied.

”But this time, that newly popular Detective Cat seems to be about to get caught in the crossfire...” Koizumi Katsuko sighed, ”Sigh, actually her paintings are truly good, her art cultivation is quite high, it’s really a pity.”

”What? Detective Cat, that online artist?”

Gu Weijing’s heart skipped a beat.

The ’Oil Painting’ magazine company was like a cloud hanging high in the sky, and its thunder and rain were not concerns for someone as insignificant as him.

This several billion-dollar big business, what does it have to do with him?

”You don’t know yet? Wait, I’ll send you the video link so we can watch it together.”

Koizumi Katsuko thought about it and suggested: ”Hm, let’s watch directly on YouTube, someone has already uploaded the shareholder meeting resolution, I’ll share the video with you.”

Gu Weijing opened his phone and indeed saw the YouTube link Shengzi had sent.

He clicked in.

Before entering the main content, there’s first a Google advertisement that was shown.

By coincidence.

Gu Weijing didn’t subscribe to the YouTube Premium membership which costs 30,000 Myanmar Kyat per month, so every time he plays a video, he’s forced to watch an ad.

This advertisement is automatically recommended under a big data algorithm model based on the advertiser’s and user’s backend records.

Depending on the different advertising fees companies pay to Google, the frequency of ads varies.

If you like watching girls, dating apps are recommended; if you like mobile phone reviews, popular mobile games are recommended; if you like concerts, 1-to-1 vocal training classes are recommended.

To draw illustrations well.

In Gu Weijing’s search records, most of the content related to the fields of art and the ’Little Prince’ storybook.

And in the backend algorithm, the largest advertising promotion contract matched with these keywords was just updated this Wednesday.
