The Versatile Master Artist

Gu Weijing specially went home once to place the red wooden frame Mr. Chen sent him on his bedside.

Putting the promise of a great collector where he could see it every day as soon as he opened his eyes, to motivate himself to strive, inevitably seemed somewhat vulgar.

After all, no matter how calm Gu Weijing was, he was only turning eighteen, not an immortal unmoved by all worldly matters.

Mr. Cao Xuan said that a painter must nurture a certain spirit in their heart.

If an immortal were to paint, besides tranquility, they probably couldn’t produce any moving works of art.

Today was a day of double happiness,

”The Little Prince” was about to be published, and through his own genuine artistic progress, he had attracted the admiration of business tycoons like Boss Chen.

He now had a somewhat exhilarated feeling in his chest.

So by the time Gu Weijing had taken care of these things and arrived at the Good Fortune Orphanage, it was almost noon.

The little girl Moli was still sticking close to her Sister Sakai.

The reverse could also be said.

Koizumi Katsuko had heeded Gu Weijing’s advice to find a living model to grow close to.

Whenever she came to the orphanage,

she often revolved around Little Moli.

Sometimes Shengzi would also patiently look after other children, chat a bit with the chubby child Bu Dao in an alien language, but evidently, Koizumi Katsuko preferred Jasmine.

Disregarding psychological bias,

nobody could dislike Jasmine.

She was the kind of well-behaved, never crying or making trouble girl, who smiled when you played with her, and quietly walked away when you didn’t, so sensible that you felt guilty even for glaring at her.

In just a few days,

Koizumi Katsuko was almost treating Jasmine as her own little sister.

After coming to the orphanage,

she spent more time with Jasmine than with her official boyfriend, Gu Weijing.

”Hi!”

Gu Weijing had just pushed open the door to their little studio and saw the two girls, one big and one small, sitting side by side on the beanbag sofa by the window, laughing together.

Next to them were crayons and a whiteboard, with a lot of sketch paper scattered on the floor like snowflakes.

Ms. Sakai probably had just given Jasmine an art class in the morning, and now both were resting, with sushi and rice ball lunchboxes on the side table, and a slice of dry lemon gradually unfolding in a glass of water.

The girls each held a game controller for an NS gaming console, giggling while staring at the small console screen.

After becoming each other’s lovers,

Gu Weijing discovered many little life habits of Koizumi Katsuko that he hadn’t known before.

Ms. Shengzi liked using hazel-shaped brushes and cool-toned paints when creating, enjoyed a glass of lemon water with her meals, and would jump rope two thousand times every morning.

She was even a hardcore fan of the combat cartoon fighting game ”Nintendo Super Smash Bros.”

Upon learning that Koizumi Katsuko, such a classical and minimalistic painter uninterested in anything other than painting, played games for a little while every day,

Gu Weijing instantly found a cute contrast in Ms. Shengzi’s demeanor.

In fact,

Koizumi Katsuko was very skillful with her fingers and played very well.

She ranked in the top 1.7% of global power level players in the cartoon game ”Super Smash Bros,” proficient in using the ”Glass Cannon” Cat-eared Pokemon Pang Ding.

He played five games with Ms. Sakai during their break.

The first three games he was crushed, but the last two games were evenly matched.

There was no way around it,

no one expected Koizumi Katsuko to be so gentle, even letting him win slightly while playing games.

When Gu Weijing discovered his girlfriend was holding back, his pride took quite a hit.

”Hi, you’re here? I brought you some fresh sushi from the hotel... Wow, what’s its name? Can I hold it?”

Pets, in most cases, are catalysts to win a girl’s heart in a relationship.

Even someone as detached as Ms. Shengzi, upon turning her head and seeing Ah Wang in Gu Weijing’s arms, her eyes softened slightly.

Jasmine immediately grabbed the hem of her clothes and jumped up.

She no longer cared about the exciting game console she was just playing with, her large eyes like black pearls stared unblinkingly at the striped tabby cat.

”Of course, be good now.”

Gu Weijing squeezed Ah Wang’s spine gently twice before handing the tabby cat over to Koizumi Katsuko.

Koizumi Katsuko put down her controller and cradled Ah Wang in her arms like a child.

Ah Wang, dissatisfied, rolled over, lifted a paw, and bared its teeth slightly, trying to indicate it wasn’t just any cat.

Unfortunately, it hesitantly glanced at Gu Weijing, before resigning itself and obediently burying its head into Shengzi’s undulating bosom.

”This cat is heavy.”

Koizumi Katsuko gazed at Ah Wang in her arms.

Professor Yajima felt no particular emotion towards pets, but Mrs. Sakai was a die-hard cat person. They had six different breeds of cats, with specific servants to care for them.

Shengzi cautiously scratched the soft meat under Ah Wang’s chin, causing the cat to open its mouth from the ticklishness.

”She eats too much hard food, leading to gum damage and mild gingivitis; she must be uncomfortable.”

Shengzi gingerly took a piece of soft, mild salmon sushi from the lunchbox, tossed it into the cat’s mouth, and said with some concern.

”My dear, the hand-pressed sushi piece you just tossed into its mouth costs more than its usual year’s food expense.”
