The Versatile Master Artist

The shareholder meeting hasn’t officially started yet.

The voting results in a while will be completely clear.

”It’s too much! These old geezers are just too much!”

Sitting across the table, Eliot gritted his teeth loudly.

She saw Anna greet each of the old guys across the table, yet they completely ignored her.

The secretary was so angry she wanted to smash the hot teacup in her hand over the heads of these old bastards across the table.

Eliot began to regret not persuading Miss Ilina to bring a legal team; even if they did nothing, it would have at least bolstered their presence.

Perhaps...

In this scenario, it might be wiser to simply abstain and be absent from this shareholder meeting.

”By the way, Miss Ilina...”

The female secretary, unable to bear the awkward calm surrounding them, removed the Apple Pencil from the tablet.

Eliot swiped a few times in her digital planner to bring up the file she wanted to find.

”You previously asked me to keep tabs on the new agency artists from the Saatchi Gallery, Tokyo Gallery, New York Limu Gallery, and Ma Shi Gallery. I’ve pulled the latest artist roster updates from their official websites. But I could only compile publicly available information, so I’m not sure if this list meets your satisfaction.”

Eliot handed over the tablet.

She was Miss Ilina’s hired personal secretary, and a few weeks ago, Miss had specifically instructed her to pay attention to the agency artist lists of these galleries.

She requested to have all the new names compiled, preferably with a detailed personal profile.

The request was quite strange.

Eliot didn’t know what mysterious purpose Miss had.

She also didn’t ask too many questions.

She was just responsible for executing Anna’s orders.

The work itself wasn’t complicated.

Once grand galleries sign new artists, they immediately update related contract news on their homepage, establishing personal web pages for the new agency artists.

Personal homepages often come with a detailed creation resume to increase collectors’ understanding of the artist, facilitating future artwork sales.

Eliot just needed to be careful and monitor the web pages every day, copying and pasting any new information directly.

The scene of their Miss being left alone and ignored in the meeting room was truly too bleak.

Eliot wanted to change the subject; anything would do.

At the very least, ensure Anna didn’t appear unattended and lonely there.

”Oh, is there any news?”

Anna, calm like an ice sculpture, had her eyes light up slightly.

Her slender eyebrows raised slightly, and an expression of excitement and curiosity flashed across the girl’s face.

Eliot captured this scene, finding it strange.

She vaguely felt that compared to the changes involving tens of millions of Euros in assets, it seemed this small list was of greater concern to Miss Anna.

”Yes, except for the Tokyo Gallery’s agency list, which hasn’t changed. The other three each have newly represented an artist’s work this month.”

”I see.”

Anna took the tablet.

Only three people?

No,

Should it be surprisingly three people?

Each artist represented by the top-tier Intercontinental Gallery has undergone long-term careful selection. Gagosian Gallery often goes a year or several years without any changes to their list. It’s surprising that three major galleries have all signed new artists recently.

It seems like the high-end art market is quite lively this month.

”There is Africa... in total, there are only three; I’ll look at it myself.”

Anna quickly scrolled through the file that her secretary had compiled on the tablet.

The newcomers from the three galleries were all separately archived into files with photos attached.

[Gallery: Saatchi Gallery]

[Name: Malik Johnlevich]

[Age: 35]

[Oil Painting Buyer Rating: Two Stars]

The first file was of a middle-aged Caucasian man.

In the photo, he sported a very artist-like beard which didn’t align at all with the information of Detective Cat Sister.

Anna did not immediately close this document.

”THE Detective Cat” was just a username.

Personal information registered on Nutshell might not be true.

Since she could disguise herself as a middle-aged man on the internet, Detective Cat might also be a Russian.

However, after reading two pages of Malik’s personal information, the girl shook her head in disappointment.

”The temperament doesn’t match; this guy has been mingling in art galleries for many years now.”

This guy graduated from Repin Academy of Fine Arts, majoring in watercolor painting, and had long been signed with a medium-sized Eastern European gallery, before being recruited by Saatchi Gallery this year.

Malik’s situation is quite normal; Intercontinental Gallery has a discerning eye.

Unless there is a reliable recommender or a breakout star at the biennial.

They rarely sign amateurs from the lower art market.

Most are mid-level artists who already have some fame, poached from small galleries or medium galleries with joint agency agreements.

Lady Detective Cat is rather an exception.

Whether from the information in the words, or the feeling the words gave to Anna.

She believed in her heart that this big sister seemed more like a green newcomer who had never signed with a reputable gallery.

Miss Ilina switched to the next document.

The ”new” artist from the New York Limu Gallery was in a situation similar to Malik, a forty-one-year-old French female artist.

The age and gender matched.
