The Versatile Master Artist

Sir Brown turned to the last page of the meeting agenda in his hand.

”The next item on the agenda, proposed by board member Anna Ilina—apologies, it might be more appropriate to say shareholder Anna Ilina now.”

The Chairman smiled.

Despite the fact that the voting results were not significantly different from what was expected, today’s shareholders’ meeting still did not fully meet Sir Brown’s expectations.

Under current laws, a director does not need to have committed a wrongdoing; as long as a majority of the shareholders agree, any director on the board can be dismissed.

Jobs was expelled from Apple in the same manner back in the day.

Sir Brown nonetheless composed a meticulous list of what he considered the ”errors committed by the young Lady Yelena in the course of her board duties.”

This was initially thought to be a great opportunity for a collective attack on Anna.

Picking out someone’s fault even with a magnifying glass is hardly a difficulty.

However, Anna’s earlier declaration seemingly evoked some remorse among the shareholders.

Regardless of Sir Brown’s cues, the enthusiasm for discussion wasn’t high.

Except for Hellefi who chimed in twice, the entire fault-finding session quickly concluded.

”Forget it.”

The outcome was already set,

Sir Brown did not mind that much.

Next month’s European Art Annual Conference is a larger public stage, and the joint speech he has prepared is quite ”spectacular.”

His eyes returned to the last page of the meeting agenda.

Seeing the name ”Detective Cat,” Brown raised an eyebrow.

Before this shareholders’ meeting,

Anna had submitted only one agenda item, which he assumed would concern the issue of reverse acquisition of equity.

The law stipulates—when a company undergoes restructuring, major acquisitions, or commercial investment activities, opposing shareholders can execute an exit clause.

It requires that the board must reasonably purchase all the shares owned by that shareholder.

This provides a graceful exit for the losers in a corporate struggle.

When Jobs was expelled from Apple’s board, he sold all his Apple shares, leaving only one as a keepsake, and used the proceeds to create the renowned Pixar Animation Studio.

The Chairman thought Anna would request to execute this clause.

He discussed with Mr. Krueger, who agreed to add an additional investment to absorb all of Miss Ilina’s shares for no more than 40 million Euros.

It was neither too much nor too little.

Miss Ilina was likely to sell.

The major shareholder expelled from the board can easily become a lamb waiting to be slaughtered, with their property being swallowed by various sneaky operations.

Sir Brown also preferred to spend money to save trouble.

Anna is not as frail and vulnerable as she appears.

Please, she also has her own legal team, wielding such a vast amount of shares, floating about, finding every reason to lodge complaints with financial regulators.

The actual impact may not be significant, but it is indeed quite annoying.

No one anticipated that Anna never mentioned any related conditions from beginning to end.

”Could it be that this young girl still harbors some unrealistic fantasies about her ownership of this magazine?”

The problem is,

A major shareholder who has even lost their board seat due to voting.

Even if she has the intention, what mischief can she cause?

This shareholder meeting, the only proposal initiated by her also left Sir Brown completely baffled.

”Lady Yelena requests, that ’Oil Painting’ magazine restore the buying guide star recommendation rating for the online illustrator Detective Cat (NutshellID: THE Detective Cat). Further, she proposes that the ’Oil Painting’ magazine management publicly and prominently post an apology on the magazine’s website for the wrongful removal and banishment of Lady Detective Cat from the buying guide section.”

Sir Brown read the line of proposal in the meeting log word by word.

The surrounding shareholders all wore excessively perplexed expressions.

Detective Cat?

Who on earth is Detective Cat?
