THE SYSTEM IS NOT MINE

” Tell me, ” Yan asked.

”Well, we got a great deal from Fan Yu to supply them to restaurants all over the kingdom, but Negotiations are not complete yet” Hua Fain said.

”Shui”

”Shui”

For a moment, Yan did not move. He stood there, recalling the events from Noble Ura’s restaurant and Sunset City.

”Tell me more.” Yan asked.

”Well, I will explain it better if you have drinks with me,” Hua Fain said.

”Sure” Yan nodded, and they walked out of the mansion.

They walked through the familiar streets of Trade Miller and halted in front of a restaurant named Fresh Grain Wine Restaurant.

”Brother Shui, the wine here is the best in the city. Let’s have drinks here.”

Hua Fain said.

Yan nodded, and then they entered the restaurant.

”Omelette, please.”

”Hurry!”

”Rice wine, please.”

”Jowar wine, please.”

It was crowded and busy.

The waiters were moving from one place to another, carrying the plates and mugs full of wine.

Yan and Hua Fain sat at a table at the far end of the restaurant.

”Shui, what would you like to order?” Hua Fain asked Yan as he passed the menu to him.

”My favourite is Jowar wine, I am going to order it, choose yours,” Hua Fain said.

Yan read through the menu, he did not think much and said, ” I want rice wine.”

”A Jowar and a Rice wine, please.” Hua Fain shouted.

”Coming”

A waiter who was moving around the tables said while still serving at the other table, then went to the food counter.

”Well, the rice wine, although not as good as Jowar Wine, is better than others”

”You know what? When I was a kid, I used to like rice wine as well,l but one day I tasted Jowar wine, from then on, I changed sides”

”Initially, I felt bad for betraying rice wine, but I realised I love Jowar more”

”So I stopped thinking about it. But today, when you ordered rice wine, all those forgotten memories came rushing back, the taste, the smell... everything.”

”Talking about wine, I was not allowed to drink it. Sir Chu Feng used to grab me back from the restaurants whenever I sneaked out for a drink”

”Well, then one day, when I was a teenager, me and Mutai sneaked out, and brought wine, then mixed it with the drinking water and made sure everyone got drunk, and I made sure to blame it on Mutai”

”Mutai got scoldings..ha..ha..”

Right then, the waiter arrived with two wooden mugs and placed them on the table.

”Here... it is ... drink, drink.”

Hua Fain grabbed the cream-colored wine and gulped it down, while Yan lifted the white-colored wine and took a sip.

”Then Sir Chu Feng got serious.”

”He kicked Mutai out and told him not to come back until he became strong enough.”

”Later, Sir Chu Feng found out it was me.”

Hua Fain took another sip.” So he kicked me out too.”

Now only Hua Fain glanced at Yan who kept the wine mug near to his lips, but did not take a sip for more than a few minutes.

”Shui, why are you looking at me like that?” Hua Fain asked.

”We were about to talk about the Green Liquid,” Yan replied.

”My apologies, I just got distracted by the wine, ” Hua Fain said.

”What’s the pending negotiation?” Yan asked.

”Well, we get the green liquid supplies from Fan Yu in return we had to distribute them to certain restaurants, but the restaurants won’t pay us directly. Fan Yu will handle the payments”

”We haven’t started the work yet as the negotiations are pending.”

”The pending negotiation is about the payment and transactions. As we speak, Fan Yu might have already arrived at the mansion for the negotiations.”

At the same time, a luxurious white carriage, guarded by several riders on horseback, stopped outside Chu Feng’s Mansion in Trade Miller City.

The driver stepped forward and opened the carriage door. The scent of roses reached the guards before they saw a pair of milky-white legs step out.

Long, curly red hair followed, along with a black skirt and a face that immediately grabbed everyone’s attention.

Behind the lady, an ordinary-looking, short man wearing a grey tunic stepped out.

“Sir Fan Yu.” Mutai stepped forward.

“Sir Chu Feng is awaiting your arrival. Please come in.” Mutai bowed.

Fan Yu and the lady followed behind Mutai. On the way the lady saw sacks of grain.

”I heard Chu Feng distributes grain to the poor, does he love the poor that much? ” She commented.

”Mind your manners.” Fan Yu shouted at her making her keep her head down.

Soon they arrived at the hall, a dinning table was laid out in the hall, it was decorated with lanterns and colored papers.

On the table, various kinds of dishes were prepared, and the aroma of chicken, mutton, wine, and steamed rice reached to the noses of the lady and Fan Yu.

”Please have a seat.” Mutai came forward and pushed two chairs out.

”Thank you,” Fan Yu replied and took the seat, the lady sat beside him.

Then footsteps sounded, Fan Yu glanced up, Chu Feng wearing a white tunic, came down from upstairs.

”Brother Fan Yu, my apologies I kept you waiting.” Chu Feng said as he pulled a chair out.

”No, we have just come now, ” Fan Yu replied while looking at Chu Feng, who took his seat and sat opposite him.

”So, Brother Fan Yu, what did you think of my offer from last time?” Chu Feng said while cutting a piece of chicken with a knife and putting it on Fan Yu’s plate.

”Brother, I have discussed it with the General.” Fan Yu said while grabbing the piece of chicken with a fork and putting it in his mouth.

”So, what’s the conclusion?” Chu Feng asked.

”The General agreed only under the condition that you stop withholding the liquid and distribute it within a week.”

”One week? That’s not possible.” Chu Feng put his spoons down on his plate.

”Why not? You are the biggest merchant of the Noir,” Fan Yu stopped eating and looked at Chu Feng.

”Word has already spread that I possess the green liquid. There are too many eyes are watching and any attempt to transport large quantities of it would be dangerous.” Chu Feng said.

”How can it be? Who else could have leaked it?” Fan Yu asked.

”I don’t know, but did not you reach out to other merchants with sample bottles when you felt my asking price was too high?”

Hearing Chu Feng, Fan Yu fell into deep thought.

“Why would I? I already provided you with seventy percent of the stock before we even completed the deal.” Fan Yu said.

”Well, isn’t it interesting? You kept the stock with me because it is safer with me than with your limited influence here in Noir.” Chu Feng grabbed a glass and poured wine.

”Mm..and you are not some saint either, you secretly let the news of negotiations out to other merchants so they don’t dare to accept our proposals”, the lady next to Fan Yu spoke up.

”Shut up!” Fan Yu shouted while looking at the lady.

She glared back at Fan Yu and said ”Fan Yu, be a man. Why are you still being polite to this guy.?”

Clap.

Clap.

Clap.

”Ha..ha..ha”

Fan Yu looked at Chu Feng who was clapping and at the woman whom he brought along, he regretted bringing her along with him.

”So you did contact other merchants? Then isn’t it possible that one of them leaked the information?, and who is this lady ? I must thank her.”

Fan Yu still glared at the Woman, she kept her head down, and then he looked at Chu Feng and said, ”She is nothing but my new plaything, but what can be done now? The General is expecting it within a week.”

”That’s not possible, but there is only one way to make it happen. ” Chu Feng said.

”What’s it? ” Fan Yu asked.

”I need your help, bring every man and woman who could fight for you,” Chu Feng said.

”What are you planning?” Fan Yu asked.

”A Bait.” Chu Feng said.

Fan Yu glanced at him, ”Explain more.”

Then they discussed further...after some time Fan Yu and the lady left the place.

The carriage of the Fan Yu stopped in front of shop selling spices, Fan Yu bought some spices and went back in the carriage.

”Eat this, ” as soon as Fan Yu entered the carriage he handed the handful of the spices to the lady.

The lady looked at Fan Yu in confusion.

”I said to eat this.” Fan Yu glared at her.

She gulped the saliva and brought the spices to her open mouth.

Fan Yu immediately caught her mouth, and pulled it open and stuffed the spices and then closed her mouth with the hand.

”Mm...mmm” The lady struggled, her eyes turned red as tears began to fall.

After about few moments, Fan Yu release the grip on her mouth.

She started caughing while clenching her throat.

”No water for you for the next an hour till we reach home.”

Fan Yu said.

”You shouldn’t have said that.”

Meanwhile, In the Restaurant.

Yan and Hua Fain finally were dranking fourth mug of wine.

”Shui, I won.” Hua Fain said as he finished the fourth mug.

Yan gave him a thumbs up, and asked, ”Why did you share so much about these things with me?”

”What do you mean?” Hua Fain scratched his head.

”Regarding the green liquid,” Yan asked.

”Well, it was no secret, everyone in Saint Merchants knows about the negotiations and distribution contract” Hua Fain said.

”But I thought you would ask why I shared it regarding my love of wine” Hua Fain pushed the cups on the table to down.

And then his head leaned on the table.

For a moment, Yan stood up and touched him but there was no moment.

Then he touched him again.

Hua Fain moved up, and leaned back on the chair, then he fell to the ground along with the chair.

Grrr...

Grr...

Gr...

The sound of snores spread throughout the restaurant.

At the outskirts of Rochi Town, Brother Cha sat on the green ground and stared at a stalk of grass in his hand for about three minutes, then he crushed it and said, ”Damn, I have to escape.”

”But that new commander is strong.”

He thought deeply, then he said, ”There is a way, the servants, Mya be, just may be, if I get them to my side.”
