The Quest for Immortality

Mo Hua felt a very subtle sensation in his heart.

As if he was lying on the boundary between ”life and death.”

”Death” was approaching him.

What he needed to do was to activate ”vitality” to resist ”decay.”

This is Formation, it’s Law, and it’s more like... ”causality.”

Mo Hua’s pupils narrowed slightly, his heart trembled, and his determination grew stronger.

”Specifically... what should be done?”

Mo Hua furrowed his brows and pondered quietly.

After thinking for a while, Mo Hua took out his ”small notebook” Jade Slip and contemplated his insights for a moment longer, then a sudden flash of inspiration struck him.

”Formation is a medium; Law is the core.”

Formations inherently have generation and destruction, such as the Five Elements, like the Eight Trigrams.

Law is the same.

Or rather, it’s not the Formation that generates and destroys, but the ”Laws.”

It’s the inherent Laws, interacting, generating and destroying, thus giving rise to the apparent interaction between formations.

Suppressing ”famine,” in essence, is actually using the Law of ”life” to restrain ”death.”

To strengthen the Law of ”life,” it requires Formation as a medium.

But Formation is merely a ”tool,” a carrier.

Even the Ultimate Formation is no exception.

The power of Law within the Ultimate Formation is stronger and more profound, distinctly different from ordinary formations, but essentially, they are all manifestations of ”Laws.”

Once you understand the changes in Law, theoretically, it’s possible to use ”Ultimate Formation” with other formations to create a ”Compound Formation.”

This Compound Formation uses the same ”Law” as the pivot to connect and work together.

And what he needs to do...

”Is to use ’Thick Earth Ultimate Formation’ as the core, with the Law of ’life’ as the pivot, connecting other Second-Grade High Rank Five Elements Earth Series, and Eight Trigrams Gen Series, which also contain the Law of ”vitality,” to form a new type of ’Compound Formation.’

By doing so, these Compound Formations contain two layers of frameworks.

One layer is the obvious framework of basic formation, including formation eye, formation pivot, single formation, and formation patterns.

On the surface, it indeed seems like this.

But more profoundly, there’s another layer of framework, which is the deep structure that common Formation Masters cannot see.

Using ”Ultimate Formation” as the formation eye of the Laws.

Using ”Laws” as the pivot of the Compound Formation.

Using similar laws to connect single formations, forming Compound Formation.

This is equivalent to deconstructing the formation framework system under the Taoist Court norms, and then using his understood ”Laws” as clues to reconstruct a set of Compound Formation framework.

This set of formation logic, as soon as it formed in Mo Hua’s mind, even he himself was ”astonished.”

Learning formation, understanding laws.

Using understood laws to deconstruct formation.

Then using his own ”laws” as a thread, reconstructs a new formation framework.

Winning without a tactic, not confined by specific forms, can deconstruct at any time, and reconstruct formation according to his own laws.

His own ”formation” is the carrier for the ”Law” he understood!

Is this Formation?!

Mo Hua took a deep breath, feeling that this idea of his was a bit terrifying.

It was clearly something he understood himself, yet he found it hard to believe.

He even began to doubt whether he had learned something wrong again? Or understood some crooked reasoning?

Is this what formation means?

Is this really what a Formation Master is?

Did his master mean this when he said to walk his own formation flow?

Am I creating my own ”formation flow?”

Or am I forming my own ”formation?”

Mo Hua was utterly confused.

He just felt that his path of seeking Dao was shrouded in a thick fog of bewilderment.

No master’s guidance, no teaching from Elder Master Xun, no one to discuss with, he had no clue where he was heading.

Nor did he know which road he was walking step-by-step.

But he had no choice; since he had come this far, he could only brace himself and move forward.

”Most people can’t become immortal, which means they aren’t walking the path to immortality.”

”Most Formation Masters can’t comprehend the Great Dao of formations, indicating their paths surely have problems.”

”The strong are destined to explore in the dark; their paths are destined to be lonely, lacking recognition, without light...”

Mo Hua could only comfort himself like this.

Then he put down all concerns, strengthened his belief, and tried using the Law of ”life” as a pivot, with ”Ultimate Formation” as the core, to construct a set of compound formations gathering ”Vitality Power.”

After attempting, Mo Hua realized it was not as simple as he thought.

Many ideas seemed grand and inspiring, but in practice, they were quite ”skeletal,” boring, and painful.

Thick Earth Formation is First Grade; it’s an Ultimate Formation.

The various other Five Elements Earth Array, Eight Trigrams Gen Formation is Second Grade.

How to structure, how to integrate, how to distinguish primary from secondary, how to sort out the flow of array power between them?

These formations, although they contain a certain amount of ”vitality” laws, are distinct from one another.

Some are nurturing grass and wood, some nurture water and soil, some are occurrence of earth and wood, some decay by earth burial.

These laws have strong and weak, big and small, their quantities also vary, how to ”merge” became a big problem.

After merging, how to use Formation as a medium to stimulate ”vitality,” allowing the earth to pulsate endlessly to suppress ”famine” is also quite challenging.

This requires consuming a lot of Divine Sense, conducting Heavenly secret Calculation, constant deduction, constant attempts to match, to have some clue.

Mo Hua explored with much difficulty, calculated with great hardship, his Divine Sense exhausted, Sea of Consciousness aching.

But his heart became calm instead.

Because ”difficulty” indicates he might be doing it right.

Moreover, the more he tried, researched, failed, and encountered setbacks, the deeper his understanding of ”laws,” the clearer his mind became about the various changes of ”laws.”

Using ”formation” as a bridge and medium for ”law” to guide ”laws.”

Making ”law” the main, ”formation” the auxiliary; ”law” within, ”formation” without; ”law” as illusion, ”formation” as reality.

Ensuring main and auxiliary complement, inside and outside apply, illusion and reality unite, formation and law merge, constitutes a true ”Formation.”

Finally, after undergoing a full two months of sleepless, exhaustive research.

Mo Hua finally tried, to construct a preliminary set using Thick Earth Ultimate Formation as the law core, ordinary Eight Trigrams Five Elements Formation as law formation media, using ”life” as the law formation pivot... Thick Earth Re-constructed Ultimate Formation.

This was also Mo Hua’s first shallow attempt from ”formation” to understanding ”law,” and then using ”law” to construct ”formation.”
