The Quest for Immortality

Mo Hua immediately closed his eyes, gathering Divine Sense, extending it outward to perceive the aura of hunger calamity between heaven and earth, calculating the internal formation principles.

A moment later, Mo Hua opened his eyes and frowned.

”I can’t calculate it...”

The inability to calculate with the Heavenly secret Calculation means that within these hunger calamity energies, it likely does not possess the basic elements of a Formation.

Such as the construction of Formation Patterns, the flow of the Formation Pivot, the energy supply of the Formation eye, etc.

The aura of hunger calamity is merely a kind of calamity-inducing ”Qi”.

Indeed, Mo Hua did not see any traces of a Formation in the apparent spread of the hunger calamity, no Formation Patterns, no Formation Pivot, no Formation eye.

But really...is that so?

Mo Hua’s expression was somewhat solemn.

Is it because this spreading hunger calamity wasn’t caused by a Formation disaster, so the Heavenly secret Calculation can’t compute it?

Or just because his own level of Heavenly secret Calculation is insufficient to calculate the internal mysteries?

Or perhaps...

Mo Hua’s gaze slightly focused.

This spreading ”hunger calamity” is a completely different kind of formation, transcending his realm of knowledge, so there’s no way to begin calculating it?

This possibility is also very high...

Mo Hua looked at the scene before him, where hunger calamity spread everywhere, and vegetation was withered, and he sighed.

The formations of heaven and earth are vast and profound.

The more he saw, the more he learned, the more he felt he knew too little, and the more he marveled at the endless mysteries within heaven and earth, with countless ancient and mystical formations.

Even in ancient times, many bizarre formations likely spread throughout heaven and earth in a ”natural” form like now.

Without any visible traces, without a ”framework” to follow, and unnoticed by anyone.

Over time, they either became lost and faded into nothingness within heaven and earth.

Or they invisibly invited great calamities from heaven and earth.

And the people, being ”blind without eyes”, could not see through the mysteries of formations and were unaware of the essence of these disasters.

Mo Hua’s pupils deepened, and he seemed to gain a deeper insight.

The structured ”formalized” formation framework unified by the Taoist Court in his mind also began to gradually ”dissolve”.

Formation is the human understanding of the Laws of nature, not the man-made organized and summarized ”Pattern of Laws”.

But natural laws do not always present themselves in man-made prescribed forms.

Some ”formations” manifest in a natural state, seeming not even to be ”formations”.

But often, these naturally state formations are the more powerful formations.

What a Formation Master truly should learn is not the formalized ”formations”—not the ones in books or doctrine.

These are all man-defined ”formations”, not the natural ”Laws”.

A Formation Master should learn the natural laws of heaven and earth.

They should personally observe all things in this world, comprehend the Laws of heaven and earth, and not be confined to form or ”knowledge”, to experience the essence of formations.

For instance, during his previous insight, he saw the manifestation of the Taotie.

The Taotie Pattern was densely covered; it looked like a pattern constructed, when it was actually a fierce beast incubated by laws.

And for instance, the spreading hunger calamity in front of him, without a formation’s form, but very likely possesses a ”Law” core of a formation.

Except that this means is too sophisticated.

Mo Hua could only ”comprehend” a little, but lacking specific knowledge and spell point inheritance, he couldn’t perform ”practical operations”.

”Formation and Law, formation is the medium, Law is the core...”

Mo Hua took out a Jade Slip, meticulously recording these insights word by word, so he could review and gain more understanding later.

Good memory is not as good as a worn-out pen.

Mo Hua was quite confident in his memory.

But he was afflicted by fateful evilness, with a Fierce Ghost residing in his Life Chart, backfiring his Divine Thought, and having the risk of ”amnesia”, so there’s no telling when these precious ”insights” might be entirely forgotten.

Therefore, forming a ”note-taking” habit is better.

After recording his insights in a small notebook, Mo Hua, holding the Jade Slip, let his thoughts drift slightly and pondered another question:

The Taotie is related to hunger calamity, related to eating...

But what about that Shugubu’s twenty-three pattern Taotie Absolute Array? What Taotie Law does it contain? What’s its specific purpose?

Further, what about the twenty-four pattern Twelve Scripture Taotie Spirit Formation?

Is the Taotie Spirit Formation’s surface also containing laws related to ”hunger calamity” and ”eating”?

But is this really so?

These seem to be unsolvable problems.

The aura of hunger calamity, twenty-three pattern Taotie Formation, Twelve Scripture Taotie Spirit Formation.

The cause and effect logic inside, the law relationship, is too complex.

Mo Hua contemplated it for a long time, only to feel his head a jumbled mess, the word ”Taotie” like a complex ”monster”, devouring his Divine Thought, making him unable to think clearly.

”Can’t just fantasize, but need specific, real things to study and research...”

The intangible, using the tangible as a medium.

The Law, utilizing the formation as a vehicle.

Even the Great Dao has a carrier.

Taotie’s Law is likewise.

And currently, that which clearly contains the ”Power of Taotie” is the ”hunger calamity” constantly spreading before him.

Mo Hua calmed his mind down again, continuing to remain on the ”front line” of the hunger calamity, observing its current state, analyzing its internal causes and laws.

But with little success.

Taotie is a fierce beast, hunger calamity is a great disaster, and the matter of laws is even more profound and unfathomable.

Now, this aura of hunger calamity has also departed from the traditional formation framework, transcending Mo Hua’s Formation knowledge.

It’s simply not something he can analyze just because he wants to.

Making efforts might not necessarily lead to rewards.

Mo Hua’s brow furrowed tightly; after fruitless efforts for half a month, he was also at a loss.

But to give up just like that, he was unwilling.
