The Martial Unity

Chapter 3727: Unstoppable Consequences

Sentinel Prime charged towards Rui with fists laden with plasma, throwing powerful blows aimed at distracting him away from Ieyasu and inflicting a painful blow at him.

NOVA was deeply aware of the fact that if they had barely managed to keep him in check with the three of them working together, then the elimination of one of them would not bode well for either of them.

Sentinel Prime’s fist swung at Rui with the intention of drawing him away from Ieyasu.

And yet, Rui didn’t so much as even acknowledge his existence.

BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!!!

The powerful attack from the sentinel leader struck Rui with perfect precision.

And yet, not only did it not inflict any damage, Sentinel Prime’s eyes widened as NOVA realized he had absorbed the blow and had used it to inflict damage on Ieyasu.

BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOMMM!!!!!

CRACK CRACK CRACK CRACK CRACK!!!

”Arghhrrghh!” Ieyasu gritted his teeth as several bones across his body snapped like twigs under the combined power of Rui and Sentinel Prime.

Sentinel Prime’s expression grew grim as he switched to plasma, returning to the rock-paper-scissors game that NOVA had been winning up until then.

CRACKLE CRACKLE CRACKLE!!!

The sheer brightness of the plasma illuminated the world around them, dispelling the darkness of the night sky above the dark, tumultuous oceans.

And yet, the moment Sentinel Prime’s fist approached Rui’s back, the plasma leaped out of his fist, weaving around Rui’s fist as if hypnotized by his power, and striking the Abyssal Mirror MECHA with a plasma-laden fist.

BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!!!

CRACKLE CRACKLE CRACKLE!!!

The plasma fried parts of the MECHA as the electric current it generated flowed through the electro-conductive parts of the MECHA, while the physical force from Rui’s attack permeated through the MECHA, ravaging Ieyasu’s body.

”Rgh!” The Chosen One gritted his teeth as he immediately accelerated his healing, siphoning nutrients from the organic matter stockpile his MECHA contained.

And yet, a stockpile was finite.

The bloodlust and determination that flared in the depths of Rui’s ethereal eyes seemed to be boundless. A single glance at Rui was all he needed to know that Rui would swing his fists for all of eternity if that was what it took to kill him.

Rui even allowed him to read his mind, as if taunting him.

He allowed Ieyasu to see the ferocity with which he desired the traitor’s death.

A single thought radiated through Rui’s mind, reflecting in Ieyasu’s.

’I will kill you.’

’I will kill you.’

’I will kill you.’

It washed over Ieyasu over and over, melting into an incoherent maelstrom of bloodlust.

’I will kill you.’

’I will kill-I will kill you.’

’I will-I will-I will kill you.’

’I w-will-will-kill you.’

’I wi-will-I will-kill-kill yo-I will—.’

’I will kill you.

BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!!!

RUMBLE!!!!!

”Rghhh!” Ieyasu’s body shook with pain as his bones broke.

His flesh tore.

His internal organ hemorrhaged.

He healed aggressively.

And yet, even before his body could heal the damage, the next attack had come.

BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!!!

”Arckhhh!” He vomited blood as the impact permeated straight through the frame of the MECHA, striking his throat. ”Activate destructive resonance!”

It was a feature originally meant to stabilize turbulence from flight, often used in aeroplanes and jets, countering vibrations with the opposite vibrations.

And yet, before Rui’s adaptive evolution, it was all for naught.

”Sonic Singularity.”

He reduced the point of contact to just a handful of cells on the edge of his knuckles, while altering his genome to constructive converge all the vibrations and sound his body generated upon that minute point of contact.

The result?

A singular pulse of sound that less a hundred micrometers wide, filled with the full power of Transcendent Candidate attack amplified with the power of Sentinel Prime’s absorbed attack.

It produced such concentrated intensity, that not even the destructive resonance systems of the Abyssal Mirror were able to cancel it out.

BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!!!

CRACK CRACK CRACK!

The impact struck Ieyasu’s chest, cracking his sternum cleanly as it ravaged his body.

Blood began pouring through every orifice on his face as he began bleeding profusely. By the time his healing factor had began to even get to work, the next blow had already arrived within a dozen or so nanoseconds.

BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!!!

BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!!!

BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!!!

BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!!!

BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!!!

Rui continued pummeling Ieyasu with a variety of attacks as Ieyasu tried and failed to deal with Rui’s visceral offense.

A man with more than ten thousand techniques at his disposal.

And not a single one of them availed him.

”Your MECHA has negated most of the other techniques you assimilated.”

Rui’s calm, ethereal voice contrasted sharply with the ferocious bloodlust behind his attacks. ”You have destroyed your own potential by haphazardly centering your MECHA instead of the foundation you have cultivated with assimilation over the span of decades.”

Rui’s ethereal eyes sharpened with disapproval.

”You are weaker than you were before.”

BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!!!

”Your greed was your own downfall.”

BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!!!

”You greedily sought more power, which caused you to neglect the compatibility of your new power with your old.”

BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!!!

”Now, all the years you spent training and assimilating other powers prior are irrelevant.”

BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!!!

”You are now a twelve-year-old Martial Artist for the twelve years you have piloted your MECHA.”

BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!!!

”You have failed to weave together all the power you have cultivated over the many years into a single cohesive Martial Art.”

BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!!!

”You are a failure of a Martial Artist.”

BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!!!

”A disgrace to your own potential and power.”

BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!!!

”You betrayed Kandria. You betrayed Panama. You betrayed your own race. You betrayed everybody. And for what?”

BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!!!

”For this mediocrity?”

For a moment, Tokugawa Ieyasu caught the barest of glimpses of the depths of Rui’s eyes as he peered into his enemy’s mind.

What he sensed shook him more than anything Rui could have said.

He didn’t sense anger.

”I am not angry,” Rui spoke with a chilling tone. ”I’m just disappointed.”

His ethereal eyes were filled with disdain.

”To think I ever thought of you as my only equal.”

BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!!!

His fists spoke louder than his words ever could.

Prediction, prophecy, mind-reading, copying... Ieyasu tried everything.

And yet, he wasn’t able to stop Rui Quarrier.

He wasn’t able to stop the consequences of his own actions.

BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!!!
