The Martial Unity

Chapter 3716: Futile Resistance

East Panama shook.

It shook as the Suneater drew closer and closer to the Kandrian Empire.

The atmosphere reeled with tremendous shockwaves coursing through it.

With each movement, the Suneater caused anomalous wind activity to emerge across the entirety of the true world as heaven and earth shook underneath the weight of his power.

And yet, his path was not left unimpeded.

”Amitabha, we shall not let you pass.” Bodhisattva Maitreyi’s voice was one of determination.

”Prepare to face reckoning.” Sage Jinryong’s bloodlust tingled in the air.

And yet, Suneater did not so much as glance in their direction.

Whether it was because he didn’t even sense them or whether it was because he was actively ignoring them, one could not say. But the giant giant kept moving towards the Kandrian Empire, approaching the western coast of Samarkha, about to enter the ocean and wade towards the Kandrian Empire.

Bodhisattva Maitreyi’s expression grew grave as she unleashed her most powerful attack from the very get-go.

Nothing less was meaningful.

”Omnilumina.” Her body flared with light as she converted a minor fragment of the matter that composed the Suneater’s body into pure light.

BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOMMM!!!

A destructive explosion of light emerged on the torso of the Suneater’s body, causing him to pause momentarily.

No other person would be able to shrug off that much matter being turned into pure light.

Yet, it was a microscopic amount of mass for the Suneater, comparatively.

The titanic giant continued on with its goal, striding forward unperturbed.

”You’re going nowhere!” The Reverend of Reckoning launched a barrage of highly targeted, powerful attacks.

BOOOM BOOOM BOOOM BOOOM BOOOM BOOOM!!!!!

Each blow caused cracks in the Suneater’s body to deepen, spreading widespread damage across kilometers of flesh and tissue. Yet, the Suneater’s scale alone meant that that level of damage simply did not matter.

”Damn...!” Sage Jinryong gritted his teeth. ”He’s treating us like we’re irrelevant! How did Amare hold him off for this long?!”

Originally, the two of them, along with the Blood Lord, were meant to fight the Suneater together after Amare ran out of steam, but NOVA’s assault had changed those plans completely, forcing them to fight the Suneater alone.

Of course, Bodhisattva Maitreyi was aware that her daughter had been attacked by the traitor, but she had no choice but to focus on the Suneater. The Emperor of Harmony had decided to deploy their focus on the titanic giant that moved towards the Kandrian Empire rather than focus on the approaching Sentinel Prime, for the former was still much, much more of a threat and was much more destructive.

They could only pray that the Kandrian Empire would somehow survive while they tried their best to slow the Suneater down.

Yet, as if entirely fed up with delays, the Suneater’s eyes never once moved away from his destination. The giant giant kept moving towards the Kandrian Empire without any hesitation and without any willingness to even acknowledge the gnats that were flying around him.

Unlike Amare, they didn’t possess the power needed to elicit his attention. Amare, with the power of the healing fruits, had reached a level where she could fight a member of the top ten head-on without suffering defeat, making her more worthy of the Suneater’s attention.

She even managed to inflict serious pain on him with her own personal power, which made her a threat in the Suneater’s eyes.

People who were weaker were simply insects.

RUMBLE!!!

”He’s not stopping.” Bodhisattva Maitreyi’s expression grew grave as she pushed herself to the very limit, unleashing as many possible attacks on the most vital parts of his body as she could.

”His scale means that his durability and endurance are at an unfathomable level. He’s way stronger than anything we have ever fought, barring the Eldritch Chimera!” Sage Jinryong gritted his teeth.

He knew that he wasn’t quite comparable to the top-ten most powerful pathwalkers in the world. His battle with Anthea had enlightened him to just how far he was from reaching that level, especially when Anthea had apparently been well out of his prime, making the gap even greater.

”He’s about to enter the water!” Bodhisattva Maitreyi clenched her fists as she turned into a beam of light, trying to blind the powerful giant.

Yet, this was the giant who had stared the Sun in the face for extended periods of time. There was no amount of light that Bodhisattva Maitreyi could generate that would blind him from his goal.

RUMBLE!!!

Both Transcendent Candidates grimaced as the Suneater took his first step in the ocean. A tremendous tsunami erupted as a result of the footstep, spreading far and wide and fast.

Suneater resolutely walked into the ocean as he strode towards the Kandrian Empire from a distance with a determined expression.

”Water...” The giant murmured with an extraordinarily powerful voice. ”I seek water.”

”There’s literally an ocean around us, you big oaf!” The Reverend of Reckoning gritted his teeth. ”We have all the water in the world here! There’s no need to bother to go to the Kandrian Empire!”

The Suneater didn’t bother responding, resolutely heading towards the Kandrian Empire as the two Transcendent Candidates did everything in their power to slow him down.

They failed.

Never before had they felt this powerless in their entire lives.

Never before had there felt this meaningless in their entire lives.

They had reached the very pinnacle of Martial Art.

They were unable to stop a single giant.

The darkness of dusk began growing more and more dominant as it settled upon the world around them. The futility of their actions began to grow more and more evident.

They could stop him.

They could barely slow him down as he barreled towards the Kandrian Empire.

”We... we cannot defeat him.” Bodhisattva Maitreyi’s expression grew despairing. ”Only a top-ten pathwalker can defeat another top-ten pathwalker.”

RUMBLE!!!!!

The world shook violently as the Suneater made his way to the Kandrian Empire through the ocean, his giant eyes growing more and more eager to reach his goal and find the water he sought.
