The Golem Mage

Chapter 532 532: Covered Up History.

In the reserved seats for the participating teams, there were eight captain seats situated at the very front, offering them an impeccable view of the matchʼs progress.

However, not all of the captains had shown up for this particular match, for instance, the captain of Bloodline Academy was nowhere to be found, allowing Damien to happily take his place, as he folded his legs, reclining comfortably as he took sips from his gin flask, his flushed face indicating he had indulged a bit too much.

Vincent, who sat close to Damien, turned to face him only to snicker before redirecting his attention back to the match, not bothering if he was drinking blood or wine.

”I see your captain has decided once again not to attend another event to gauge the power of the competing teams, does he look down on us that much, or does he believe he has already secured victory?” Thalia, the captain of the Wizard & Witches Academy, remarked to Damien, who simply smiled in response.

”Is there even a reason to watch the match? We all know that the Royal Mage Academy will come out on top, thatʼs what the bigwigs want, after all, to maintain control over the funding dispersed to the academies from the Royal Palace, they need the Royal Mage Academy to be among the top eight, thatʼs the only reason they allow us to run wild as we please,” Damien stated, offering a wink to Thalia.

”I think the bigwigs might be disappointed because the Royal Mage Academy isnʼt exactly living up to their reputation at the moment, in fact, it looks like they might be on the verge of losing any minute now,” Vincent Whitefang casually mentioned as he used his right hand to support his head while sitting.

Although he had casually conveyed his belief in the War God Academyʼs victory, the atmosphere in the surrounding area changed instantly as his team felt the intensified stares from the other teams.

”You can stare at me however you want, but itʼs still quite obvious for all of you to realize that the War God Academyʼs team is unique, and right now, their captain seems to have control over how the fight will unfold,” Vincent calmly remarked, paying no heed to the intense gazes directed towards him.

As he maintained a casual demeanor, unaffected by the tension in the air.

”I still struggle to understand why you support the War God Academy so fervently, theyʼre nothing more than a weak team trying to uphold their reputation based on their past accomplishments, yet, you, Vincent Whitefang, who rarely attends the matches, have come to watch both of the War God Academyʼs battles,” Thalia challenged Vincent, emanating unfriendly vibes as she locked eyes with him.

Although the other captains remained silent, but their agreement with Thalia was palpable, evident in their lack of objections.

”Thatʼs because, unlike you, I am cautious and keep an eye on all potential rivals, if you didnʼt see me at your match, it clearly means I donʼt consider you a threat. And let me remind you all once again, as it seems you have short-term memories, the War God Academy used to be the number one academy in the old era,” Vincent retorted firmly.

”Until the clans decided they wanted to expand their influence by exerting control over the growing superpower academies, the War God Academyʼs downfall was a result of their refusal to adapt to the new dynamics,” he continued.

”But do not, even for a moment, think that we are superior to them, they may not be filled with the finest geniuses, as the geniuses are often claimed by the Great Eight and the mid genius are taken by the rest of the academies, but the War God Academy possesses its own prowess, their graduate disciples, and the ones now turned instructors have left their marks behind in various spatial passages,” Vincent emphasized, asserting the unique strength and capability of the War God Academy.

”Now tell me, which of our graduate seniors could match up to the graduate seniors of the War God Academy?” Vincentʼs voice rang out, but the once-intense stares had now turned into silence and contemplation.

”You see, none of you can speak up because there is simply no comparison, while the War God Academyʼs seniors may not receive the same attention as our seniors, when cities are faced with unsolvable problems within the spatial passages, it is the War God Academyʼs seniors who are called upon, though they may be few in number, but each one of them have been called unparalleled genius,” Vincent explained, his confidence unwavering.

”So, the fact that their current generation may appear weak should not get to your heads, because those who survive, even if itʼs just one or two, have been said to be destined to become unrivalled powerhouses, and we have the opportunity to witness if this first-year generation will produce such figures, and as you all laugh it off, well continue to laugh,” Vincent concluded, his voice cold and detached as he kept his focus solely on the ongoing battle before them.

While Vincent remained engrossed in the game, the rest of the captains and their teams were lost in deep thought, contemplating the weight of Vincentʼs words.

Despite the Ancient and High Tier clans attempting to conceal the achievements of the War God Academy and paint them as weaker, it was clear that they also had access to such information that proved otherwise, and they knew that his words were not lies.

There was no denying that, in the past, the War God Academy had been unrivalled.

However, with the changing era, the top eight academies had gradually caught up, the only reason they had not surpassed the War God Academy as a whole was due to the lingering power held by the older generation – the Main Dean along with his flocks of old instructors, Mad Dog with his punishment hall, and the War God Army consisting of the old graduate students.

These were the factors that prevented them from completely surpassing the War God Academy, though some called them weak and useless, that perception only applied when comparing the recent students accepted.

This was because the War God Academy was left with the so-called ”worst affinity” and the rejects from all other academies, while the other Great Eight academies eagerly acquired the most talented individuals.

And by focusing on building and investing in their own futures, they aimed to eliminate the reasons that hindered them from surpassing the War God Academy.

They were well aware that their investments would eventually lead them to triumph.

Therefore, they spared no effort in covering up the remarkable achievements of the War God Academyʼs star students, or those who made significant waves in the second dimension.

They even went to the extent of claiming credit for these feats that they couldnʼt successfully concealed, all with the purpose of undermining the influence and authority of the instructors and elders of the War God Academy.

Their ultimate goal was to ensure that the War God Academy and its students were completely forgotten, and with the War God Academy students unable to meet the high standards set by the other academies , they only served to further embarrass the institution whenever they faced disciples from other academies.

Only a small handful had managed to pass the rigorous tests of the War God Academy, but those who did were reborn as the finest warriors.

Through the gruelling and brutal soldier training, they were forged into the epitome of excellence, these selected few became the graduates of the War God Academy, a testament to their unwavering dedication and the relentless challenges they overcame.
