The Golem Mage

Chapter 524 524: Changes (2).

”Any updates on their progress?” Alec inquired, addressing Lucas, who was still sprawled on the ground, and then Lucas slowly rose, responding,

”Well, they have all shown significant advancements, but itʼs undeniable that Pale has awakened the most troublesome ability, he has developed some sort of dark ice. And if it latches onto you, it absorbs the mana youʼre using at that moment to expands itself within you. ”

” Not only that, but itʼs also incredibly heavy, just imagine having a couple of them weighing you down.” Lucas said as Alec, was finding it hard to believe that Pale had awakened such a fraudulent ability,,

”Do the effects of the ice overlay on each other?” Alec asked as Lucas gave a nod in affirmation.

Suddenly, Pale propped himself up, exclaiming,

”Hey, why are you exposing my ability like that? Now I wonʼt be able to catch him off guard when I challenge him!” Pale said but Lucas simply chuckled in response.

”Shut up, punk!” Alec snapped at Pale, who glared back at him.

”Punk” was a term Mad dog had often to refer to Alec when he sync with his spell, and now that he had the opportunity to use it himself, he had to admit it felt rather satisfying.

”Letʼs not forget that I arranged these sparring match, and the reason behind it was to learn all of your abilities better and figure out how to utilize you all effectively in the next battle, as Iʼm not entirely confident in my ability to take on all five members of a Great Academy team.” ” Alec said, his tone firm

”If youʼre uncomfortable sharing your abilities with me, then perhaps youʼd be more comfortable sitting on the bench during the next match.” Alec added, before turning towards Lucas, as he nodded toward Lucas, urging him to continue with his explanation.

”While Paleʼs black ice ability may have its deceptive aspects, he has only recently awakened it and hasnʼt yet reached a high level of proficiency, currently, he is only able to conjure a small size of it, although he has learned to integrate it into his main ice attacks during battle,” Lucas explained, shedding light on Paleʼs ability. Lucasʼs extensive knowledge about Pale left him astounded.

Pale, however, couldnʼt help but raise his head smugly as his ability was discussed, as he believed that he was the only one to have awakened a variant ability.

Lucas then shifted the focus to Katieʼs abilities.

”On the other hand, Katie seems to have awakened some sort of super strength or super agility ability, by altering her mana flow, she can switch between these abilities seamlessly, and i must say, these abilities are not at a low level by any means, but rather, they are considerably advanced despite their seemingly simple augmentation, however, that is not the most interesting part.”

”According to the list you provided, Alec, it was previously stated that Katie had a low affinity for the fire element, i believe itʼs time to revise that statement, as her fire affinity has shown a remarkable improvement, she was the one responsible for the burnt patches still on me, when she combines her ability with her newfound fire affinity, it transforms her into an even more dangerous combat mage,” Lucas explained, delving into Katieʼs abilities.

While Pale had been smug about his own powers being discussed, Katie was left perplexed.

She rarely used the fire element in her attacks previously due to her presumed low affinity, so even when small flames ignited during her attacks they were attributed to her combat skills by others.

None of them, aside from Pale, had any inkling that she possessed a fire affinity, so It was a surprise for her to hear Lucas talking about a list that Alec had compiled, which even included her low affinity for fire element.

Unbeknownst to Katie, Alec had utilized his inspect skill on each and every one of his team members to gain a comprehensive understanding of their abilities and powers.

As he listened to Lucas describe their powers, Alec continued to inspect them, ensuring his understanding matched Lucasʼs words, despite being able to see their powers on screen, Alec knew that this didnʼt guarantee knowledge of their effects or how they were executed.

[Status]

Name: Katie

Tier: 4 (Low) (56%)

Affinity: Fire (Mid)

Special Ability: Super Strength (High Level Ability)

Super Agility (High Level Ability)

A smirk graced Alecʼs face as he glanced at Katieʼs status, although the system hadnʼt completed her name, but it was evident that the missing part was due to Alecʼs lack of knowledge regarding her surname.

He knew that the system would update it once he acquired that information, however, Alecʼs happiness stemmed from a different reason – he was delighted to discover that Katieʼs second awakening had not only elevated her flames affinity, but also granted her two special abilities at a high level.

While Lucas believed that these two abilities were connected, with one needing to be de-activated for the other to function, Alec now understood that they were separate powers and where not linked.

He was certain that Katieʼs inability to utilize both abilities simultaneously originated from their high level nature, and having just awakened them, she lacked the experience to fully comprehend their workings.

However, Alec believed that as she became more familiar with both powers, she might eventually find a way to synergize them an unleashed them together, just as she could wield her fire element alongside each of the two abilities due to her existing familiarity with there fire element, Alec envisioned her reaching a point where she would become nearly unstoppable.

Such were his high expectations for Katieʼs potential.

As Lucas began to explain Sophiaʼs progress, Alec raised his hand and shook his head, interrupting.

”I already know everything there is to know about her, letʼs move on to the next members,” Alec asserted, his gaze fixed upon his trusted clansmen.

”Brandon seems to have awakened a variant ability of the earth element, it appears that he can break down earth and transform it into sand, his control over this ability is at a high level, but I donʼt think he has fully explored the depths of his powers yet,” Lucas explained.

”Well, I never doubted him, with a peak affinity for earth element, i knew it wouldnʼt be long before he started shining again,” Alec complimented, instantly acknowledging Brandonʼs achievements upon hearing Lucasʼs words.

”On the other hand, Knight hasnʼt awakened any new elements or special abilities, but he has strengthened his current elements, he has been causing a lot of trouble with his earth traps that are set within his shadow spells,” Lucas summarized, giving a brief explanation.

Alec approached Knight, nodding his head and tapping his shoulders in recognition.

”And lastly Arthur, I donʼt even know how to explain Arthurʼs ability, he now has affinities for three elements – wind, metal, and earth, and additionally, a special ability that involves manipulating the high nutrients stored in his flesh to regenerate when heʼs injured, strengthen his skin, and withstand blows more easily,” Lucas concluded, struggling to find the right words to describe Arthurʼs new ability, as Alec approached Arthur, addressing him directly.

”Youʼve ended up walking the tanker path, huh? I thought you wanted to be the main attacker of the group,” Alec remarked, smiling at him.

”Who says a tanker canʼt be the main attacker? On the contrary, now I can take more hits,” Arthur confidently replied, wearing a grin on his face.

”Just be prepared, because over the next two days, Iʼm going to put you all through hell, as i want to make sure you never step into the arena in shame, are you all ready to endure the intense training?” Alec questioned as he walked back to the center of the training room.

”Yes, captain!” they all shouted in unison. With Alec taking his seat on the training ground, equipped with a paper, ready to document their power levels, affinities, and other pertinent information using his inspect skill and Lucas knowledge to determine who possessed what abilities.
