The First Store System

Chapter 1204: The Tradition Continues!

After dying, Aakesh returned to the selection area. A gentle smile spread across his face after he saw Lily and Khaval sitting on their chairs and waiting for him.

His chair was already there, so Aakesh reached there and sat on it. After that, the traditional conversation between the three began, with Khaval starting with his experience.

After Khaval, it was Lilyʼs turn, and then Aakesh at the last spot. Soon, it was time for the conversation to end since there was nothing new left to share.

”Letʼs go!” Aakesh announced it, and the next moment, they disappeared from the selection area.

A white light flashed inside the store. It disappeared as quickly as it had arrived, and with it, Aakesh, Lily, and Khaval also appeared.

Not long after, the door to their room appeared in mid-air in the store. Khaval and Lily proceeded toward the room after saying their daily farewells to him.

Thud!

The door automatically closed after they had entered, and soon, it and the stairs faded, waiting to get summoned back. The gentle smile on Aakeshʼs face disappeared and was replaced by the usual indifference.

Aakesh then proceeded toward the portal room. As his habit had become, his eyes fell on the two leaderboards.

There was a single change, as there was a new entry into the first leaderboard. It had been the same for the rankings for the customers from the Primal Dimension since they were above Level 200 creatures, and it was lengthy and tough to level up there.

Aakesh then moved his eyes away from the leaderboard and touched the nearest portal using only the tip of his finger. The next moment, a force stronger than anything Aakesh could bear appeared and sucked him inside. Not long after, the countless shining dots in the portal turned gray.

Aakesh found himself on the spot he had left before exiting Panagea the day before.

Aakesh was going to leave the spot and continue his hunt when a wave of pressure appeared out of nowhere. The source of it was close, so Aakesh turned in that direction, and his eyes fell on a powerful creature.

It was a lioness, and Aakesh found his body freezing from the pressure as the creatureʼs eyes were filled with brutality when they looked at him.

Aakesh understood the reason for the creatureʼs anger toward him, and it wasnʼt anger but a way of protection.

Aakesh could sense a life about to be born in the area, so Aakesh knew if he took even one step forward or backward, the creature would pounce on him.

The lioness was above Level 350, so there was no way for him to survive if there was a battle. Considering that situation, Aakesh called out to the lioness. At the same time, he also got ready to attack.

The creature was powerful, but that didnʼt mean he would take defeat lying down.

Roar!

Aakesh called out to the lioness, clearing his intention of not harming her and her child.

Given that it was a rare species in the Lion group of races, the lioness seemed perplexed by Aakesh.

The lioness didnʼt expect to come across someone who knew her tongue while preparing for childbirth. Even then, there were seven tongues in the group, and Aakesh used the precise one she spoke.

”How do you know my native tongue?” The lioness asked.

But before she could wait for Aakeshʼs response, a wave of pain hit her. She immediately looked at Aakesh, her eyes alert and ready to attack him at a momentʼs notice.

During childbirth, the lioness would grow extremely weak, so she didnʼt want to see her child in danger at that moment.

”Donʼt worry about me? I am leaving,” Aakesh responded and then left.

If it were another moment, the lioness wouldnʼt have let Aakesh go, but since the moment demanded such, she instead felt relieved by Aakeshʼs leaving.

Even though it had only been half a day in the Sacred Dimension since Aakesh opened the store for the first time after the arrival of the skills, in the Primal Dimension, around a year had already passed.

”I donʼt want to do this anymore,” Jonnah complained, as he had gotten bored of tending to so many customers. It was a luxury job, and many would die to do it in his place, but it had been several thousand years now since he had been doing this.

Jonnah wasnʼt like Aakesh, who had unlimited intelligence and endurance and never got physically or mentally tired. Jonnah would be drained of all his strength at the end of the day.

It was a secure job with no chances of harm, but he was already a peak Immortal with his strength in the top five in the Primal Dimension.

Since Aakesh wasnʼt there to talk with him, Jonnah left the store after complaining as usual. His residence was right next to the store, so he reached there in no time. Going to the store and coming to the house while drained of strength had become his everyday routine.

Today, Jonnah seemed to think more about it, as he felt he had postponed the decision for a long time. But before conveying it to whatever was there in the store, he decided to tell his family about it.

”... I donʼt want to do it anymore. What do you think?” Jonnah asked his wife after a passage why he didnʼt want to do the job any longer.

”I will support you in whatever decision you make,” The wife replied. Since Jonnah had won the contest and become the storeʼs manager, the family had seen nothing but affluence.

The people who wouldnʼt even look at them would tread carefully in their presence; such has the status of Jonnah and his family become due to the post.

It would be a lie if the wife said she didnʼt like the authority and all the benefits, but she also knew that Jonnah had already done more than enough.

The family was his primary motivation for entering the competition, and it was what kept him going.

But after staying as the store manager for several thousand years, Jonnahʼs family had reached an otherworldly status with string cultivators in their ranks. They no longer needed the protection of the store to survive.
