The First Store System

Chapter 777: Passing of Time(1)

Time was like a river that had no end, and it continuously flew, ignoring things at all times.

Seconds turned into a minute, minutes turned into an hour, hours turned into a day, days turned into a week, weeks turned into a month, months turned into a year, years turned into a decade, and with the continuous flow of time, more than forty-nine years had passed.

“Bye, senior,” Jonnah said farewell to Aakesh and left the store since the day had come to an end.

[Ding!]

[Host, congratulations on completing your last mission objective! Please see the quest screen for your new quest.]

Aakesh was about to close the door of the store, announcing another end to the day for the store, when he heard a sudden mechanical and emotionless notification ringing in his head.

The next moment, a blue window containing all the details of the new quest appeared in front of him.

Aakesh was already prepared for this since it didn’t happen for the first time in all these years he had spent here. He already knew what quest it was.

Aakesh then focused on the blue screen in front of him, and the details of the new quest appeared in his eyes.

[Mission objective: Add the number of virtual portals,

Requirement: As a result of the annual events and your popularity over these years, the Panagea has become an increasingly popular product throughout the planet Visteerna and several parts of the Primal dimension. So much so that only in the starting few hours after the opening of the store: all the virtual portal slots get taken for the day. There has been an addition of 1,000,000,000 more virtual portals, but to ensure such kind of craze for Panagea continues and grows with more and more customers joining it; the store owner needs to have 15,000,000,000 hours of entry time every day into Panagea for a hundred straight years,

Mission reward: 10,000,000,000 new virtual portals,

Failure punishment: Removal of ten virtual portals every minute if the number of years exceeds 110. If it exceeded 125 years, the decreasing rate would grow to fifty portals. If it exceeded 150 years, the rate would increase to one hundred virtual portals every minute. If it exceeded 200 years, the decreasing rate would grow to five hundred virtual portals per minute.]

Aakesh nodded as he read the quest details on the screen floating in front of him.

Just this moment, Aakesh had completed the quest of having one billion and five hundred million virtual hours every day for fifty years straight, which in turn had rewarded him with an additional one billion virtual portals in the store.

The number of virtual portals in the store had already grown to more than one billion and two hundred million, maintaining its hold over the rank of most valuable of the four products currently sold by the store.

As usual, the quest’s difficulty and reward both had grown tenfold after another completion. Aakesh didn’t mind the challenge at all. Aakesh ignored it when he reached the failure punishment section.

Aakesh couldn’t be any more confident of achieving any goal set by the system when it came to quests related to Panagea. It was always needed more, no matter what its number reached in the store.

Aakesh then waved his hands. The next moment, the light particles started moving away from the screen, resulting in its disappearance.

Currently, Aakesh was doing a quest titled ‘The Last Quest’, but it had nothing to do with missions related to Panagea.

These quests were product related and didn’t cover the entire store, and hence, the title didn’t have any effect on it.

Even though decades had gone by, Aakesh looked the same as he did years before, as if time did not affect him. Similar was the case for Lily, who was comfortably relaxed on his head.

Despite the passing of tens of thousands of years, Lily hadn’t found a spot that made her feel more comfortable than Aakesh’s head.

“Let’s go,” Aakesh spoke as he ruffled the fur of Lily sitting on his head.

Aakesh was still adamant about training, so the next moment, both of them disappeared from the store’s hall and appeared in the selection area.

Time flew by, and both Lily and Aakesh had their training session over.

They still maintained the tradition of sharing their experiences after the training, so currently, in the selection area, they both were seated on their respective chairs placed in front of each other.

“How did today go?” Aakesh asked Lily.

Years ago, Lily had used one of Aakesh’s promises to help her gain control over a large territory. Aakesh stood by his words and chose three years of time for him to be her strategist.

Aakesh and Lily’s plans were moving smoothly when suddenly a war had begun in the Kingdom due to one of the King’s sons dying.

The war had come unexpectedly for both Aakesh and Lily, so many of the plans they had laid over the past time turned fruitless, wasting their efforts.

Still, the war was also the fastest thing to gain strength, so Lily made several friends while the war raged for tens of years in Panagea.

When the war ended, the King was in no condition to maintain his stronghold over the entire piece of territory. In the end, he had no choice but to share pieces of pie with the nobles.

Lily was also one of them. In addition to the land she had earlier conquered, her territory grew almost twofold after the negotiation.

At the same time, this territory entirely belonged to Lily, with no higher being above her.

Since there was still time left in Aakesh’s three years time, Lily asked him to help her grow her territory in that time.

The King wasn’t always going to be weak. Someday, he would regain his strength and at that time, her territory would be in danger of getting entirely devoured by the King, without anything left to her.

And now that so many years had passed, Lily’s control over the territory had grown to its peak.

Now Aakesh was no longer her strategist, but since Lily and Aakesh were family, she truthfully shared everything with Aakesh about Panagea. Aakesh also sometimes gave suggestions to Lily. It was rare, but it was still possible.
