The First Store System

Chapter 753: Passing of Time(4)

Jonathan gasped for breath as he lay down on the ground, both mentally and physically exhausted.

‘I am too weak,’ Jonathan couldn’t help but think in his heart as fighting against a rat of the same level took him hours.

Even though the leader rat was also an early Level 10 lifeform, the rats were weaker than their counterparts at the same level.

The rats were known for their exaggerated fertility rate, so if their strength were to be equal to other creatures at the same level, these rats would have conquered the world long ago.

A Level 1 rat gave birth to at most nine rats every month, while a Level 10 rat gave birth to a single rat every three years. Three years might sound less, but there were many races that couldn’t even procreate in centuries since their lifespan was a hundred million years.

A few seconds later, Jonathan stood up since his body had gained some stamina during the time.

After a long exhausting, and cruel battle, it was now time for Jonathan to check his rewards.

Even though Level 10 rats were weaker than their counterparts, they were still a Level 10 lifeform, so the rat body was a treasure.

In the cultivation inside the world, Level 1 to Level 5 was the growth of the body, Level 5 to Level 9 was of the essence and energy, while Level 10 and Level 11 were the evolution of the soul.

Whenever a peak Level 9 evolved to become an early Level 10 lifeform, their soul would materialize and take the shape of a hexagonal core.

The size of the core depended on the cultivation of the lifeform. It was the best item to help increase the rate of growth of the soul, as well as it also helped heal soul injuries.

Jonathan’s exhaustion disappeared as the excitement of core took its place.

A few seconds later, Jonathan’s eyes shined as his hands held the hexagonal core.

Jonathan then took a deep breath and sat down in a meditative position. It was impossible to eat the core since its material was harder to break for even a peak Level 10 lifeform, let alone Jonathan, who was only an early Level 10 lifeform. The best way to use the core was to absorb energy from it.

Jonathan did as he had read and began to absorb the soul energy from the core.

The next moment, Jonathan couldn’t help but tremble in pleasure as comfortable energy entered his body through the veins along his right hand.

Time was like an ocean, which didn’t stop its wave for anyone. In the blink of an eye, seventy more years had passed.

“Master, there is bad news!”

Jonathan couldn’t help but frown as he heard the informant’s announcement.

As Jonathan expressionlessly looked at the informant, the informant started trembling due to fear. The next moment, Jonathan stopped as the informant had reached on the verge of death with just a single glance.

Over the past decades in the peak-level world, Jonathan’s personality changed in lots of ways.

He had been fighting to conquer since he became a supernatural, but before ascending to the fourth world, his journey had been nothing short of a legend. He came close to death many times, but an unprecedented defeat was something he had avoided since the start.

But since he had ascended to the fourth world, he had even lost count of how many times he had faced overwhelming defeats.

Those losses didn’t break down Jonathan, but they made him more determined to conquer the world.

His determination grew stronger, but the number of his losses continued to grow as well. Finally, he gained his first success toward his goal after sixty years of living in the fourth-level world.

Jonathan became an early Level 11 lifeform, which helped him come in contact with other Level 11 in the organization. The organization had a total of eleven factions, and each faction leader was a peak Level 11 lifeform. The organization head was another peak Level 11 lifeform, making a total of twelve peak Level 11 beings in the organization. Below them, there were hundreds of other Level 11, varying from early to late.

Since there were eleven factions, Jonathan had to join one after reaching early Level 11. Jonathan chose a mid-tier faction in the organization, as he currently wanted to stay away from the limelight and poach members to create his hidden faction. Jonathan wanted to create a mighty organization as he did in the past three worlds and then take control of this peak-level world.

Time forward to today, Jonathan learned that the only Level 11 he had gained in the last ten years died in a battle.

Jonathan only had one secret Level 11 person under his hidden faction, and now that he had died, his bloc had weakened severalfold.

In anger, Jonathan killed the informant since it was his greatest loss of the day. He then passed orders to his other subordinates to find the circumstances around the man’s death.

While Jonathan was angry with the situation, another star on the tower’s fourth level turned gray as another participant ascended.

It was none other than Kuriati, who had taken more than one hundred and eighty years to ascend to the peak-level world.

In a desert null of any life, a heart-rending scream echoed, and soon, the sound of cries began ringing in the area.

“WHY DID YOU DO IT?” Kuriati yelled as he looked at the sky, while tears were continuously streaming down his cheeks.

Toran was Kuriati’s wife, and she had sacrificed herself in the end to save him.

In his last battle to conquer the third-level world, Kuriati fell into trouble due to the schemes of his opponent. In the end, Toran engaged in a suicidal attack which not only saved Kuriati but also severely harmed Kuriati’s primary opponent.

After killing his opponent, Kuriati became the head of the third world.

Since the contest wanted the participants only to conquer the world and not enjoy their rule, they would ascend to the higher-level world after their victory. The participants could postpone their ascendance for at most one year. But since Kuriati was in no mind to choose, he ascended not long after his victory, unaware of what was going to happen after he left.
