The Entry-plundering Demon Hunter

Chapter 309: Chapter 287: Might Makes Right

”Lin Yi... what’s wrong?”

Wei Nan, Zhou Qi, and the others were all terrified.

It was the first time they had ever seen Lin Yi so angry.

And just now, even though Lin Yi hadn’t used his full strength, he had still managed to send cracks splintering across the tabletop.

Only then did Lin Yi finally manage to calm himself.

He let out a long breath and quickly shook his head.

’I’m still not composed enough,’ he thought. ’How could I let my emotions get the better of me so easily?’

”It’s nothing,” Lin Yi said with a light chuckle.

Despite what he said, how could the others not see that something was wrong?

But since Lin Yi didn’t want to talk about it, they didn’t press him.

After finishing their meal, the group returned to their dorm to rest.

Zhou Qi had just been injured and needed to recuperate quietly.

Wei Nan and Sun Tao also went back to the dorm to slack off for a bit.

”What was wrong with you earlier? Why were you so furious?”

Wei Shang and Feng Lei still hadn’t returned.

Wei Nan asked while sitting in the living room.

Lin Yi glanced at him. ”Do you know Lin Yu?”

”Lin Yu? Isn’t he the younger son of the wife your dad married later on? Why bring him up?” Wei Nan said, finding it a bit strange.

Lin Yi nodded. ”That’s the one. Li Xuewen just messaged me privately. He said Lin Yu established an organization in the Old District and has recruited a lot of students who failed their exams.”

”These are people who failed their martial arts exams. Some chose an ordinary path—getting a job, marrying, and having kids. Others just gave up on themselves and now run rampant, causing trouble.”

”But regardless of which path they chose, their hearts are filled with resentment!”

”We’re all from the Old District. We know that if you fail the martial arts exam, you face endless pressure!”

”Eighteen years of hard work, all down the drain. All the money their families spent, gone without a trace!”

”Lin Yu found their weakness and gathered these people together!”

”Now, this organization is running amok in the Old District...”

After Lin Yi finished speaking...

Wei Nan looked at him in astonishment. ”Wait, your brother... no, that little brat has this kind of ability?”

”How old is he? He’s just about to start his second year of high school, right? And he’s already this cunning?”

”He started an organization? So he’s the boss?”

Lin Yi nodded. ”This is a move he’s been planning for a long time. He even used me!”

”He used you? How?” Wei Nan’s brow furrowed.

Back when they were still in the Old District,

Blood Drop was still rampant. The Demon Hunting Bureau, the Martial Arts Police Station, and Yi Nanshan...

...were all focused on cracking down on and eliminating the Blood Drop organization.

At that time, Lin Yu had used Lin Yi to provide some of Blood Drop’s hiding spots.

This led to Blood Drop being rooted out, bit by bit.

At the time, Lin Yi had thought Lin Yu had changed.

Even though he had targeted him at every turn back home...

...and had even worked with Liu Mei, whispering poison in their father’s ear to sow discord between him and Lin Dazhi.

This had caused Lin Dazhi to gradually distance himself from Lin Yi, believing him to be a good-for-nothing failure.

He became unwilling to spend another cent on him and even wanted Lin Yi to drop out of school and get a job...

After Lin Yu joined Blood Drop, the things he did...

...had made Lin Yi think he had changed significantly. That when faced with matters of right and wrong, he could still remain calm and clear-headed.

He hadn’t completely fallen from grace, nor had he become a madman like the other Blood Drop Believers.

At least a Lin Yu like that could still be saved.

But, thinking back on it now...

’Where was the change? It was all just a game of chess he was playing.’

The game had begun the moment he joined Blood Drop.

He used the Demon Hunting Bureau to eliminate the Blood Drop Believers one by one.

He even brought about the destruction of the entire Blood Drop organization.

However, Blood Drop had existed for many years. The wealth and treasures it possessed were naturally countless.

Take that container battle, for instance, where Blood Drop was making a deal with demonic beasts.

That black briefcase simply vanished.

No one knew where it went, much less what was inside.

It’s possible that very briefcase ended up in Lin Yu’s hands.

Once Blood Drop was annihilated, the Demon Hunting Bureau and the Martial Arts Alliance both pulled out of the Old District.

Then, when the time was right, Lin Yu reassembled the former Blood Drop Believers who were scattered throughout the Old District.

He formed a new organization called ’Rebirth’.

And he began recruiting followers on a massive scale. In less than two months,

the ’Rebirth’ organization has already grown to its current size.

The number of its followers has reached over a hundred thousand...

When Lin Yi had finished laying out his analysis,

Wei Nan stroked his chin, lost in thought.

After a long while, he finally said, ”Lin Yi, I’m not trying to defend Lin Yu, but are you sure you’re not overthinking this?”

”Could he really be that cunning? To have laid out such an elaborate plan so far in advance?”

”If that were true, would he really bother competing with you for favor at home? With that kind of ability, he could do anything he wanted out in the world. Why suffer through fighting for Lin Dazhi’s attention? It’s not like your dad is some amazing prize!”

”I think we shouldn’t jump to conclusions just yet.”

”Besides, after hearing all this, I’m starting to think there’s something off about Li Xuewen, too.”

”His leg just inexplicably broke, and he inexplicably lost his eligibility for university?”

”Nobody really knows what happened there.”

”Why don’t you first call your coach from the Martial Arts Hall and ask him if this is really true?”

Wei Nan said calmly after thinking for a good long while.

The one involved is lost, while the bystander sees clearly.

Lin Yi had realized he’d been used by Lin Yu,

and in his shame and anger, he had lost his reason.

As a bystander, Wei Nan’s line of thought was naturally much clearer.
