The Entry-plundering Demon Hunter

Chapter 280: Chapter 275: The Lecherous Dog Demon

The night was deep.

New District, Beiquan City.

The brilliantly lit metropolis was a city that never slept, making no distinction between day and night.

Even now, it was well past 2:00 AM.

There were still plenty of young men and women lingering on the streets.

Taxis and private cars lined the roadsides in two rows.

This was especially true around places like bars, nightclubs, and entertainment complexes.

These places set the rhythm of the night.

The moon hanging in the night sky cast a faint glow.

But it couldn’t compete with the brilliance of the neon lights...

Behind a bar, in a back alley.

This was a secluded alleyway.

The words ”filthy, chaotic, and squalid” weren’t enough to describe it.

All sorts of clutter, trash, and vomit filled the air with an unbearable stench.

Yet, a man and a woman were pressed against a wall, caught up in a hormonal frenzy.

Brimming with the aura of youth...

The sounds of their grunts and whimpers were particularly clear in the small alley.

But they paid no mind and continued their passionate embrace.

WHOOSH—

Suddenly, a black shadow flashed through the alley.

Lost in the heat of the moment, the two of them noticed nothing amiss.

In that instant, it was as if they were the only two people in the world.

WHOOSH—

Another black shadow zipped past behind them.

The slight breeze it kicked up made the man pause for a moment.

He glanced back over his shoulder.

”What are you doing? Hurry up...” the woman urged.

”I don’t know, maybe it was just my imagination, but the back of my neck just got cold!” The man raised a hand to rub his neck.

He then shook his head and went back to their intimate affair.

WHOOSH—

The next moment, the black shadow flashed by again.

But this time, it didn’t just kick up a breeze; it deliberately brushed against the man’s back.

”Who’s there?”

Already on alert, the man spun around and roared.

But there wasn’t a single soul behind him.

”Can you get it up or not? If you can’t, then get lost. You’re wasting my time!” The woman was getting impatient.

His jumpiness and constant interruptions were ruining the mood.

The man looked back at her. ”No, seriously, did you really not notice anything just now?”

”No, I didn’t! Are you just making excuses because you can’t perform?” The young woman was getting angry.

But just as she was about to push the man away...

Suddenly, her pupils contracted, and her expression filled with terror.

It was as if she had seen something that terrified her.

In that moment, she couldn’t even speak, let alone scream.

Seeing the woman’s strange expression, the man said oddly, ”Are you trying to scare me on purpose?”

”Let me tell you...”

CRACK—

Before the man could finish speaking, something violently twisted his neck, snapping it all the way around from front to back. In the last moment before he died,

he seemed to see what it was.

But before he could react, he was already dead.

His body then slumped to the side.

The black shadow then headed straight for the woman...

A little past 4:00 AM.

The sky was just beginning to brighten.

The alley behind the bar street was sealed off with police tape.

The red and blue flashes of police lights illuminated the entire area.

Personnel from the Demon Hunting Bureau and the Town Martial Department had all arrived at the scene immediately.

A sanitation worker was giving a statement, trembling all over.

Some young men and women who had been at the bar all night also gathered, peering into the alley.

A little over half an hour later.

Three jeeps pulled up one after another on the roadside.

The moment the doors opened, Chu Zhengxiong, Mo Yanfeng, and Qin Zhaoxue stepped out.

In the other two vehicles were the Left Guard of the Town Martial Department.

As they approached, they saw the local Demon Hunting Team from Beiquan City, as well as the captain from the Town Martial Department and police personnel.

They all came forward to greet them.

”Captain Chu, Captain Shan, you’re here!”

When Chu Zhengxiong and the others drew near, the local officers hurried forward to speak.

Chu Zhengxiong nodded and exchanged a look with Shan Kui.

”What’s the situation?”

”Two people are dead, a man and a woman. The bodies are in the alley!”

The captain of the local Demon Hunting Team quickly explained.

Chu Zhengxiong glanced at him. ”Let’s go. We’ll take a look first.”

So, the group headed into the alley.

When they arrived at the crime scene,

they saw it was also sealed off with tape.

Members of the Town Martial Department and the Demon Hunting Bureau were collecting evidence.

When they saw Chu Zhengxiong and Shan Kui approaching, they quickly made way.

Chu Zhengxiong glanced at the two bodies on the ground.

The man’s head had been twisted around, snapped from the front to face the back.

His body also showed signs of having been gnawed on by a demon beast.

When Chu Zhengxiong saw the young woman’s body,

his expression changed abruptly. ”Another right arm and right leg have been eaten?”

”That’s right. That’s exactly why we called you to come take a look.”

”Haven’t several cities had similar cases recently?”

”So we wanted to see if the cases could be investigated together.”

”I suspect it’s the work of the same aberrant beast!”

Chu Zhengxiong nodded, his gaze returning to the young woman’s body.

Suddenly, he noticed a large pool of blood under her.

”What’s this? Was she... by that aberrant beast...”

Before he could finish, Gan Sheng nodded. ”Correct. According to our investigation, her actual cause of death was from being raped... Her body was only gnawed on after she was already dead.”

Hearing this, Chu Zhengxiong shook his head.

”No, that’s not right. Something’s wrong!”

”The details don’t add up.”

”Shan, does your Left Guard have a bite mark expert?”

Shan Kui nodded. ”Yes, we have one. What’s wrong?”

”Have them come over and determine if these bite marks were left by a demon beast or an aberrant beast,”

Chu Zhengxiong said hurriedly.

Shan Kui agreed and called the Town Martial Department’s bite mark expert over.

This so-called expert was a young woman.

In her twenties, she wore a pair of black-framed glasses.

Her looks weren’t stunning at first glance, but she was the type that grows on you.

She wore a white lab coat and carried a toolbox.

After coming closer, she began to examine the bite marks on the two bodies.

Meanwhile, Chu Zhengxiong and Shan Kui stepped to the side.

”Want one?”

Shan Kui took the cigarette Chu Zhengxiong offered him.

CLICK—

With a soft click, both men exhaled clouds of smoke.

”What is it? What’s not right?”

Gan Sheng asked, looking at the two of them with a puzzled expression.

Chu Zhengxiong nodded. ”It’s wrong. Very wrong.”

”Gan, I suspect these two bodies weren’t killed by the same aberrant beast.”

”Not the same one? Is there an aberrant beast playing copycat?” Gan Sheng chuckled.

Chu Zhengxiong took another deep drag from his cigarette. ”Believe it or not, I don’t think it was an aberrant beast at all.”

”Captain Chu, that’s... not very likely, is it?”

”I’ve looked at the previous cases!”

”Every victim had their right leg and right arm eaten. The M.O. is identical. How could it be...” Gan Sheng said, confused.

Chu Zhengxiong smiled. ”Gan, you’re an old captain. How could you be fooled by a simple trick like this?”

”Let’s wait. I’ll explain after we get He Lan’s bite mark report.”

Hearing this, Gan Sheng glanced back at He Lan, who was still conducting her examination.

Before long, He Lan packed up her toolbox.

She walked back with a cold expression. ”Captain Shan, Captain Chu, Captain Gan, the test results are in.”

”The bite marks on both bodies are from the same demon beast!”

”See, it’s the same aberrant beast... Wait, what did you say? Not an aberrant beast, a demon beast?” Gan Sheng whipped his head around to look at He Lan.

He Lan nodded. ”That’s right. They are indeed the bite marks of a demon beast.”

”And it’s a 4-star Dog Demon!”

”A 4-star Dog Demon? This...”

Shan Kui laughed. ”You can question He Lan’s temper, but you can never question her skills!”

”Her bite mark analysis has never once been wrong!”

”In other words, a Dog Demon that couldn’t control its urges tried to mimic an aberrant beast’s crime, but left behind the biggest clue that exposes it!”

”But I have to say, this Dog Demon’s intelligence is off the charts.”

”It actually learned how to commit a copycat crime? We can’t let this beast live!”

Chu Zhengxiong also nodded. ”Although it wasn’t the work of the same aberrant beast, this Dog Demon has infiltrated the city and learned to commit copycat crimes. Gan, this case needs to be solved as soon as possible.”

”Otherwise, there will be more victims!”

After listening to the two of them,

Gan Sheng’s expression grew grim.

”Whether it’s a Dog Demon or an aberrant beast, if it commits a crime in Beiquan, we definitely can’t let it remain!”

”Captain Chu, Captain Shan, I’m really sorry for making you come all this way for nothing. The sky is getting bright, why don’t you stay and let me treat you to breakfast?”

Gan Sheng said apologetically.

Chu Zhengxiong and Shan Kui both shook their heads.

”Better not. We still have a pile of things waiting for us, and that aberrant beast hasn’t been caught yet.

Next time. After the case is solved, you can come to Songshan City, and we’ll treat you to a feast!”

”Alright, it’s a deal!”

Gan Sheng finished speaking with Chu Zhengxiong and the others with a smile.

Chu Zhengxiong, Shan Kui, and their group walked toward the jeeps by the roadside.

Once everyone was in, the three jeeps quickly turned around and headed for Songshan City.

Gan Sheng looked at the two bodies in the alley.

His expression gradually darkened.

”Captain Gan, what do we do now?”

A member of the Demon Hunting Team walked over.

Gan Sheng glanced at them. ”Hasn’t it already been confirmed? It was a 4-star Dog Demon!”

”Put the whole city on alert for the Dog Demon. I’m going to kill that beast myself!”

”Yes, sir...”

The members of the Demon Hunting Squad all wore solemn expressions.

No one dared to delay, and they hurried out of the alley.

Gan Sheng took one last look at the two bodies on the ground.

He too walked out of the alley.

Someone else would handle the cleanup.

The Demon Hunting Team’s mission was only to hunt the demon beasts that committed crimes.

...

「Early morning.」

A little past 5:00 AM.

Lin Yi was forcibly awakened from his meditation on the Star River Qi Transformation Technique.

The clamor outside, along with the sounds of martial arts practice,

had woken Lin Yi up.

He glanced out the window and saw those Little Daoists in their robes,

all hurrying back and forth...

Curious, Lin Yi opened his door and stepped out.

Just then, a Little Daoist passed in front of him.

Lin Yi quickly stopped him and asked, ”Excuse me, senior brother, what are you all doing...?”

”Oh, we have morning lessons every day. Today the Grandmaster is giving a sermon. Why don’t you go have a look?” After speaking, the Little Daoist continued running ahead.

’A sermon from the master?’

Without hesitation, Lin Yi quickly followed them.

Even Xiaoqi, who had also been woken up, landed on Lin Yi’s shoulder.

It seemed he also wanted to hear the Elder Celestial Master’s sermon.
