The Devil Does Not Need to Be Defeated

Chapter 352: Not Really Wanting to Be Too Villainous

Shien was now surrounded, both front and back.

“See how you’ll escape this time!”

The werewolf, Oz, clenched his fists, his face fierce.

“Why did you do this?”

The cat-girl, Maeve, looked at Shien calmly, seeming to give him a chance to explain.

Shien glanced at the werewolf behind him, who could lash out at any moment, then at the cat-girl blocking his way. He smiled calmly.

“What do you think my reason is?”

Shien threw out a provocative question.

His words successfully enraged Oz, but Maeve remained unfazed.

“You’re human, not a demon, so you shouldn’t be one of those crazies from the Old Demon Faction. In that case, why did you intrude into our temple and break the seal here?”

Maeve questioned Shien.

Unfortunately for her, this was exactly what Shien wanted.

“I’d also like to know why the beastmen priest group is guarding such an obviously abnormal temple and sealing a seriously injured girl inside.” Shien looked at Maeve, a faint smile playing on his lips. “Don’t tell me this is a temple of the Goddess of Life, and you’re just worshipping her here?”

Shien’s meaning was clear: they were also doing something shady and had no right to judge him.

“We…” Maeve seemed to want to say something, but she held back. She just stared at Shien and said, “We’re just doing what we have to do.”

“What a coincidence.” Shien said calmly, “I’m also just doing what I want to do.”

“You…!” Maeve finally showed some anger.

Oz couldn’t hold back any longer.

“Don’t waste your breath on him, Maeve!” Oz shouted roughly. “This guy did something absolutely unforgivable. I think even if he’s not with the Old Demon Faction, he’s a malicious heretic, or even the mastermind behind all this himself. Let’s just take him down!”

“…You’re right.” Maeve was silent for a moment, then said coldly, “Let him repent. Get ready, Oz.”

“Alright!”

Oz responded without hesitation.

In the next instant, the two beastmen, a wolf and a cat, suddenly disappeared from their spots, transforming into blurs as they dashed towards Shien.

At the same time, Shien also vanished, turning into a blur.

The three blurs streaked through the air of the temple, then collided fiercely.

“Boom—!”

A thunderous crash echoed through the temple, shaking the air violently.

“Roarrr!”

Oz, the werewolf, was the first to reach Shien. His thick fists were like two giant meteorites, transforming into a continuous barrage of punches aimed at Shien. ᚱáƝő𝐛ĘṦ

“Swish, swish, swish…!”

Maeve, the cat-girl, approached from behind Shien. Her slender hands sprouted sharp claws, transforming into two deadly weapons. With astonishing speed, she unleashed countless claw strikes, enveloping Shien in a storm of attacks.

At this moment, even Shien had to get serious.

In front of him was a torrential downpour of punches capable of splitting mountains and shattering rocks.

Behind him was a hurricane of claws, comparable to a flurry of blades.

And his opponents were extremely high-level, considered among the strongest in this world, no less powerful than those legendary figures.

Therefore, Shien decisively used [Limit Evolution] to face these two formidable enemies.

Instantly, three streams of light crisscrossed and flickered throughout the temple, like meteors chasing each other. Every intersection signified a collision, every flicker symbolized a clash, resulting in continuous booming sounds.

Accompanying the booming sounds, the temple trembled repeatedly.

In addition, various phenomena appeared within the temple.

Dazzling sword light.

Whistling fist shadows.

Cold claw marks.

Chaotic air currents.

Sword against fist, claw against sword, human and beastmen constantly clashed, clashed, and clashed again. For a time, neither side could gain an advantage.

The beastmen priests surrounding Beatrice watched this scene, all stunned.

“He’s actually holding his own against Oz and Maeve?”

“Impossible!”

“When did such a young powerhouse appear among humans?”

“Could it be the Kingdom’s treasure and the Empire’s Valkyrie?”

“But he’s a man!”

The beastmen priests were in shock.

Beatrice also stared intently at Shien, turning her head only after confirming he was safe. Her gaze landed on the location of the seal, her eyes filled with anxiety.

At the location of the seal, the fox-girl was still praying, the holy light growing stronger and slowly suppressing the terrifying magic power surging from the crystal. The split crystal actually began to mend.

However, as she continued, the fox-girl’s complexion worsened, becoming as pale as a sheet, her body weak and swaying, as if she was about to collapse.

This deeply worried Beatrice, making her want to rush over, but she couldn’t break through.

The beastmen priests surrounded Beatrice, preventing her from moving, but they also didn’t dare to get too close to her, their eyes revealing a hint of fear.

Under such circumstances, the temple continued to tremble. Even though the situation with the seal was stabilizing, the fierce battle between Shien, Oz, and Maeve became increasingly intense. It eventually affected the surrounding walls and ceiling of the temple, causing the walls to crumble and the ceiling to crack, as if it was about to collapse, making everyone tremble in fear.

Gradually, the stalemate finally broke.

“Bang!”

With a muffled sound, a figure was sent flying from the battle, crashing heavily onto the ground, kicking up dust and creating cracks everywhere.

“Oz!”

“Oz!”

The beastmen priests exclaimed in disbelief.

The person who crashed onto the ground was none other than Oz, the one with the highest level.

“Cough… Damn it…!”

Oz coughed as he struggled to get up, his body covered in wounds. It was clear he was seriously injured.

But looking closely, Oz wasn’t only injured. There was also magic power lingering around him, constantly affecting him.

“I can’t… use my strength…!”

Oz seemed to have fallen into a weakened state. His once-proud fists trembled, unable to be lifted.

In fact, Oz had indeed fallen into a weakened state.

Because the magic power around him was proof that Shien’s Bestowal Magic had taken effect.

During the fierce battle, Shien had bestowed the “Weakness” effect on Oz, causing his strength, which he was so proud of, to gradually disappear.

As for Maeve, the cat-girl, she was also enveloped by Shien’s magic power. Shien had bestowed the “Slow” effect on her, rendering her speed useless.

Thanks to this, Maeve quickly fell into a disadvantage.

“Bang!”

Shien mercilessly kicked Maeve, whose movements had slowed, sending her crashing into a wall of the temple like a cannonball, causing rubble to fly.

“Maeve…!”

“How could this be…!?”

“Even Maeve lost!?”

The beastmen priests wailed, panicking.

Shien landed back on the ground. Although he was unharmed, there were a few fist marks on his body, and his clothes were torn in several places.

“It’s a good thing I have the maxed-out [Physical Resistance] skill, otherwise I would have been injured.”

Shien chuckled, looking at his condition.

However, his relaxed and casual demeanor, in the eyes of others, was no different from an insult.

“Don’t get cocky, human…!”

Oz gritted his teeth, roaring and mustering his last bit of strength.

“We must… stop him…!”

Maeve also slid down from the wall and stood up shakily.

“[Flying Star]!”

Shien, on the other hand, showed no mercy, unleashing his magic. Countless shooting stars streaked across the hall, bombarding Oz and Maeve.

“Ugh…!”

“Ah…!”

The werewolf and the cat-girl cried out in pain. Under the bombardment of the shooting stars, they were sent flying like broken kites, tumbling on the ground.

“Stop it!”

“You bastard!”

The beastmen priests finally couldn’t stand it anymore and shouted angrily, wanting to rush forward.

Unfortunately, they couldn’t.

Because a terrifying aura erupted within the dilapidated temple, enveloping everyone, causing them to freeze, their faces filled with shock.

The source of the aura was, naturally, Shien, who possessed the maxed-out [Intimidation] skill.

“I don’t really want to act like a villain, so don’t force me.”

Shien, holding the Holy Sword, said these words to everyone with a smile, but there wasn’t a hint of mirth in his eyes.

The beastmen priests were both shocked and angry. They wanted to resist, but their bodies wouldn’t obey, unable to move at all.

Shien’s aura enveloped the entire hall, bringing the fierce battle to an end and restoring silence to the scene.

“Beatrice, come here.”

Shien called out to Beatrice.

Beatrice glanced at the beastmen priests frozen around her, then slipped out of the encirclement and ran behind Shien.

Shien protected Beatrice behind him, his gaze fixed on the location of the seal.

There, the terrifying magic power surging from the crystal had slowly disappeared.

The crystal that Shien had split had returned to its original state, fused back together, leaving only a faint cut mark as a reminder that everything that had just happened wasn’t a dream.

And the fox-girl had stopped praying, her holy light fading.

However…

“Thud…”

With a dull thud, the fox-girl collapsed onto the ground, unconscious.

“Saintess!”

The beastmen priests let out their most panicked cry yet.

Shien’s eyes flickered as he looked at the fox-girl, lost in thought.
