The Devil Does Not Need to Be Defeated

Chapter 351: Cut Open This Seal

T/N:

I will try to maintain consistency in the names used in the previous translation, as changing names after over 300 chapters could be confusing.. If you notice any names that don’t fit, please let me know in the comments. Reviewing names one by one would be a tedious process, especially considering that some characters’ names in the previous translation were their English adaptations, which differ from the original raw names.

Chapter 351: Cut Open This Seal

Inside the dark temple hall, a beam of moonlight shone through a skylight in the ceiling, like a pillar of light descending from above.

This pillar of light illuminated a massive iceberg.

No, it wasn’t an iceberg, but a small mountain of crystal formed from some unknown transparent material, dazzling and beautiful.

However, inside this crystal mountain was a young girl.

A young girl with brilliant, sun-like golden hair and a petite figure.

Beatrice gazed at the girl, her amethyst eyes finally revealing a hint of sadness.

Shien looked at the girl, then at Beatrice, falling into stunned silence.

Because the girl looked exactly like Beatrice.

“Not again?”

Shien’s inner thoughts were self-evident.

Leisha and Lasha.

Nien and Omniis.

Liece and Jace.

In just two months since coming to this world, how many pairs of identical-looking people had he encountered?

“Could it be another magical lifeform?”

Shien thought to himself, unable to help but glance at the girl within the crystal mountain.

At this moment, the girl seemed to be frozen, her eyes tightly shut, her body completely naked.

However, Shien couldn’t help but gasp.

Because the girl’s exposed, delicate skin was covered in hideous wounds.

The wounds were like centipedes, terrifying and spread all over the girl’s body, making one’s heart clench at the sight.

Shien was startled by this scene.

“What in the world is going on?”

Shien was baffled.

Undoubtedly, the strange occurrences in Cosmos were due to this temple.

But what was the origin of this temple?

Why was there a girl frozen in crystal, covered in hideous wounds, inside this temple?

Why did Beatrice look exactly like her?

Who were they?

And what was going on with the beastmen priests guarding this temple?

One mystery after another emerged, making Shien’s head ache.

“I just came here to deal with the Old Demon Faction, and look at what I’ve gotten myself into?”

As expected, Lucy’s premonition was right. This trip would bring him a lot of trouble.

Beatrice, unaware of Shien’s thoughts, had already walked towards the crystal and looked at the girl inside.

Her gaze wasn’t like looking at a sister, but rather like looking at her own reflection in a mirror.

Shien wanted to ask about everything.

But Beatrice had never spoken before, so whether she could explain clearly was an unknown.

“Sigh…”

Shien could only sigh first, compose himself, and walk to Beatrice’s side.

“Tell me,” Shien said to Beatrice. “You brought me here. What do you want me to do for you?”

As he said this, Shien had already guessed what Beatrice wanted to do.

After all, this girl, who seemed to be seriously injured and looked like Beatrice’s twin, was clearly not in a normal state.

She wasn’t like the Supreme God, who had entered slumber of her own volition.

If Shien guessed correctly, this girl was probably forced to sleep here.

In other words, this girl was sealed.

And what Beatrice wanted to do was obvious.

“…”

Beatrice looked away from the girl in the crystal and turned to Shien. Reaching out, she touched the Holy Sword at Shien’s waist.

Her meaning was simple.

“Use the power of the Holy Sword to cut open this seal… right?”

Shien said, and Beatrice nodded in response.

Was this the reason Beatrice brought him here?

And the Holy Sword could indeed do this.

Among the Holy Sword’s effects was the description: “Purifies and dispels evil forces.”

Shien didn’t know if the seal before him counted as an evil force, but it was definitely a negative state.

Therefore, using the power of the Holy Sword might be able to purify or dispel this negative state, breaking the seal.

At the very least, using the power of the Holy Sword would greatly enhance Shien’s strength, even doubling his skill levels.

This way, if Shien used his limit-breaking [Demon Sword] to strike the seal, he might be able to break it.

At least, Shien didn’t feel like he couldn’t break it.

He had a strange intuition that this so-called seal couldn’t hinder him.

Even without the Holy Sword, it would be the same.

Whether Beatrice knew this or not, she stared intently at Shien, seeming to plead and convey something.

“Alright.”

Shien sighed again.

Originally, Shien was hesitant.

He didn’t know who the girl in the seal was, who Beatrice was, and why one was sealed while the other was thrown to him by a group of magical lifeforms. ŕＡ𝐍Ȏ𝖇ÈS̩

There were still many mysteries. Even with his thick skin, Shien didn’t want to act rashly.

But it was just unwillingness, not fear.

In other words, if it was truly necessary, Shien wouldn’t hesitate.

“If I really cause trouble, then let’s make a big scene.”

Having made up his mind, Shien patted Beatrice’s head and spoke softly.

“Step back first.”

Hearing this, Beatrice’s eyes lit up. She nodded repeatedly and stepped away from Shien.

Shien turned to the crystal mountain before him and drew the Holy Sword from his waist.

He didn’t unseal the Holy Sword.

“I have a feeling that this crystal seal won’t be too difficult for me.”

Shien didn’t know why he felt this way.

However, he chose to trust his intuition and took a deep breath.

“Alright!”

With determination in his heart, Shien raised the Holy Sword high towards the crystal mountain before him.

The next second, Shien swung the Holy Sword down.

At this moment, a flurry of footsteps sounded from the entrance of the hall, and a group of beastmen rushed in.

They weren’t the beastmen priests guarding the temple, but a group of beastmen priests who were clearly of higher status, with more refined attire and imposing aura.

At the forefront of this group of beastmen priests, a fox-girl exclaimed,

“No!”

A panicked cry came from her mouth.

Unfortunately, it was too late.

“Clang!”

The Holy Sword in Shien’s hand transformed into a flash of light, slashing through the entire crystal mountain.

The crystal mountain trembled.

A clean cut appeared on it, splitting it in two as the upper half slid down, separating from the lower half.

“Boom!”

From the shattered crystal, a terrifying surge of magic power erupted.

Bathed in this magic power, Shien’s breath hitched. He was about to retreat when a shocking wave of hostility washed over him.

“Roarrr!”

A furious roar reverberated through the hall, causing Shien’s eyes to narrow. He abruptly turned around.

There, a werewolf, roaring angrily, rushed towards Shien like a storm, raising his fist to strike Shien’s head.

“Boom—!”

An explosive sound echoed through the hall.

The werewolf’s punch unleashed a shocking impact, shaking the air and shattering the ground, causing it to crack and crumble into ruins.

Shien was sent flying back by the shockwave, landing on the ground and sliding for some distance before finally stabilizing himself with his feet.

“I’ll tear you apart!”

The werewolf, seemingly enraged, slammed his fists together, sparks flying between them like striking steel. At the same time, he transformed into a storm once more, charging towards Shien.

Shien didn’t dare to be careless.

Because the level of this werewolf was as high as ninety-one.

This guy was strong, very strong.

Shien sensed a threat, causing him to retreat without hesitation.

“[Bestow: Bind]”

Shien cast his magic, attempting to stop the werewolf’s charge.

The air instantly constricted around the werewolf, halting his movement.

However, a scene that surprised Shien occurred.

“What’s this…!?”

The werewolf growled, veins bulging on his forehead, his muscles rippling as if his entire body had grown larger. He forcefully broke free from the air’s restraint.

“Bang!”

With a muffled sound, the air constricting the werewolf exploded.

“No way?”

Shien was dumbfounded.

Good heavens, he actually broke free from the magic’s restraint with brute force?

You’re not a beastman, you’re a humanoid dragon, right?

“Tear you apart!”

The werewolf continued to roar, charging violently, carrying a chaotic gust of wind, and unleashed an earth-shattering punch at Shien.

“Swish!”

Shien didn’t hesitate, activating the [Instant Movement] skill and disappearing from the spot.

“Boom—!”

The temple shook violently, as if struck by lightning, cracks appearing on the ceiling, showering the hall with dust.

The ground was blasted apart, collapsing, cracking, shattering, and sinking.

The werewolf stood at the center of the collapse, pulling his thick arm out of the ground, looking around.

“Where did he go…!?”

The werewolf was still furious.

As for the other beastmen, they had already surrounded Beatrice.

“We finally found her…!”

“Too bad we were too late!”

“Damn it!”

The beastmen priests surrounded Beatrice, preventing her from reaching the crystal.

In front of the crystal, the fox-girl had arrived at some point, kneeling on the ground with her eyes closed, praying. Holy light emanated from her body, enveloping the crystal.

Under the holy light, the crystal’s shattering stopped, and the phenomenon of it splitting in two and separating also halted.

But it continued to tremble, emitting waves of terrifying magic power, shaking the entire temple.

“Swish!”

Shien appeared in another location. Seeing this scene, he immediately wanted to go over.

Unfortunately…

“I won’t let you pass.”

A cat-girl suddenly appeared in front of Shien, staring intently at him.

Shien raised an eyebrow.

He couldn’t blame her.

The level of this cat-girl was also as high as eighty-nine.

“This is getting interesting.”
