Chapter 1628: Selfish Geezer

”We are getting halted here…” Venom Overlord frowned. ”The situation doesnʼt look bad, so we will be able to kill the ancient demons soon.”

The situation was really in their favor. The ancient demon he fought was already quite injured, as one would expect from the strongest elder in the Beast Kingdom.

On the other hand, Andreas was also doing a pretty good job. Because he had just become a spirit transcendence rank expert not too long ago, he had a hard time gaining superiority against the ancient demon.

However, his unique ability, Soul ability, was able to give him a pretty good advantage once in a while.

As a result, the injury that the ancient demon suffered might not be big, but it wasnʼt low either.

Venom Overlord thought he had to cover for Andreas, but it looked like he didnʼt have to.

ʼOld Ru must be proud to know that his grandson has already grown this strong. Once he reaches a certain age, he will definitely become stronger than you, old geezer.” Venom Overlord smiled. ʼIn that case, I shouldnʼt lose to my junior.ʼ

Venom Overlord thought about defeating the ancient demon first and started rampaging all over the battlefield. It would be enough to turn the situation around, but he didnʼt want to mess with Andreasʼ opponent.

He wanted Andreas to grow even further, so this was the best choice. They would dominate the battlefield and make their way to the Ardagan family.

It would take quite a long time, but that would be a perfect time to clean up. This reinforcement would then become the foundation of a relationship between their Beast Kingdom and the rest of the human kingdoms.

The image had already appeared in his mind, but it looked like fate didnʼt really favor him.

”Venom Overlord! Is Venom Overlord here?!”

”!!!” Venom Overlord heard the call from afar. It looked like it was coming from outside the battlefield.

So, he changed his position with his summoned creature.

While the serpent was holding back the ancient demon, he raised his hand and released his power in the form of light to indicate his position. ”Venom Overlord is here!”

He wondered what was going on. Since it was a messenger from outside the battlefield, he thought that the Beast Kingdom was in trouble, so he was prepared to adjust their positions.

However, as soon as the messenger came, he could see who it actually was.

”!!!” Venom Overlord couldnʼt help but widen his eyes in shock. ”You…”

The one standing before him was actually coming from the Rabbit Tribe.

”Why are you here? Arenʼt you supposed to be in the west?”

Old Ru had brought three tribes. His Turtle Tribe would be the guardian of the west, acting like a wall against the demons.

Then, he would bring out the Rabbit and Goat Tribes to hit the enemy head-on.

So, it was unexpected for someone from the rabbit tribe to suddenly appear here. ”What are you doing?”

”I am Ding from the rabbit tribe. I have an urgent message from Commander Grain.”

”Commander Grain? Isnʼt the commander supposed to be Old Ru? I mean, Elder Rudrashia Lethas.”

”The prophet has defeated the ancient demon quickly and headed straight to the south. The rabbit tribe is currently heading in the same direction, while the turtle tribe is used to defend the attack and the goat tribe is eliminating the enemy one by one.”

”He has killed the ancient demon?” The Venom Overlord was proud to be the strongest elder, but even he would have a hard time killing one, unless he was sacrificing his own life. ”Donʼt tell me…”

”Iʼm coming here to bring an urgent message from Commander Grain while disregarding the direct order of Elder Rudrashia.

”To kill the ancient demon, Elder Rudrashia has sacrificed his future. Even when our tribe is following him, we still canʼt catch up.”

”!!!” The Venom Overlord was shaken. The rabbit tribe was actually the fastest tribe in the Beast Kingdom.

There was only one reason for them to be unable to catch up with Old Ru, who was from the slowest tribe, the Turtle Tribe.

”Donʼt tell me… Old Ru actually sacrificed his past to get that speed?”

”Commander Grain suspected that was the case. At this rate, Elder Rudrashia would sacrifice his present to kill another ancient demon before dying himself.”

Venom Overlord knew that Old Ru planned to die in this battle, but he never thought he would choose it like this.

In fact, he originally planned to catch up soon so that he could give a farewell message to Andreas. Even if he didnʼt die, he would probably exhaust his lifespan in this battle and would pass away soon after due to the battlefield.

He couldnʼt allow Old Ru to die so quickly.

ʼWhat a selfish old man.ʼ Venom Overlord clicked his tongue. ”I received the message. Iʼm sorry but even though I know itʼs tiring for you to reach here, I want you to pass a message to Commander Grain.

”I want him to focus on the defense and ensure the stability of the battlefield. Maintain the connection between this battlefield and his. And I will have no choice but to change the plan and remain here instead of heading south.”

”Yes, sir.” The rabbit person nodded furiously.

Venom Overlord couldnʼt help but curse, ”Freaking geezer.”

While his snake stopped one ancient demon, Venom Overlord flew straight to the other ancient demon.

Andreas, who was fighting this ancient demon, abruptly moved away as a big poison wave hit the ancient demonʼs body.

”What are you doing?” Andreas frowned.

”Thereʼs no time to explain. Leave everything behind here and head south right now!”

”What?” Andreas was confused, but looking at Venom Overlordʼs grim face, he felt something bad had happened.

There was only one reason for him to head south. The Ardagan family.

He had a connection with the Ardagan family, but it wasnʼt at the level where he owed them his life.

However, there was one more person who would go to the Ardagan family. His grandfather.

”!!!” Andreas looked at Venom Overlord in horror.

Venom Overlord bit his lip and nodded his head.

The ancient demon didnʼt know what was going on, so it simply charged toward Andreas.

Venom Overlord hurried to his front and stopped him. ”Hurry!”

Andreas ground his teeth bitterly before rushing to the south. ”Thank you!”

”Go… Donʼt let that selfish geezer get what he wants.” Venom Overlord muttered while glancing at the disappearing back of Andreas.
