Chapter 1624: Divine Slash

”Future Darkness!”

Dimitri leaped into the sky and activated his ability. His body was already covered in black flames, especially his hands and legs.

The moment his ability was activated, Dimitri once again showed the capability of someone who was supposed to take the Commander position in the Demon Banner Army.

”!!!” Even the Diva who was fighting on the other battlefield couldn’t help but notice this power. ”What is that?”

There was a big shadow emerging from the sea, casually overwhelming the ancient demon in size.

”He’s... raising the shadow from a deeper level of water?” The Diva simply couldn’t believe what Dimtiri was doing.

If the water was deep enough, it wouldn’t be weird for the light not to reach that depth, creating a darker color in the water.

However, Dimitri’s power was supposed to be shadow, not darkness.

To be able to achieve something like this was to combine the shadow of the demons underneath the shallow water.

He combined all of them and turned them into a single entity.

The slime-like creature was charging straight at the ancient demon squid. The squid rose to the surface and sent forth its tentacles, trying to destroy the shadow.

However, the shadow slime was sending the same thing, turning it into an equivalent exchange.

Still, the demon was categorized as an ancient demon. It simply spurted out high-pressure ink to destroy the slime’s body.

But it forgot that Dimitri was fighting alongside this slime. No, Dimitri was controlling the slime.

The moment the ancient demon focused on the slime, Dimitri took that opportunity to send an attack.

”Dark Curtain!” Dimitri waved his blade up, raising a tall dark curtain from behind the squid.

The demon squid poured as much energy as possible into its body, strengthening it at the last moment. In addition, the liquid covering the body made it slippery, even for the sharp dark curtain.

As a result, the squid managed to stop this attack just by losing one tentacle.

It used that one tentacle to deflect the Dark Curtain upward, which ultimately missed the rest of the tentacles.

”...” Dimitri squinted his eyes. He had seen the fighting pattern of this guy, so he knew what he should do next.

Since he could finally focus on the ancient demon, Dimitri activated his full power, planning to end this battle as quickly as possible.

”True Spirit Body, Shadow Depth.”

The spirit transformation he had used turned into the True Spirit Body.

Sensing the eruption of power from the True Spirit Body, the demon immediately revolved its energy like crazy, forcefully activating its berserk state.

It recognized that the only way to defeat Dimitri was to use this berserk state.

Dimitri had two choices. He either used this True Spirit Body as quickly as possible to deliver the first victory or waited until the last moment.

Dimitri believed the former was the better decision. This first victory would send a message to everyone on the battlefield that the humans could win, starting with him.

The squid slapped the water, forming a massive wave against him.

Dimitri waved his left hand instead of his sword. In an instant, the Dark Curtain rose as if the shadow itself expanded into the curtain. It split the wave and reached the squid.

Still, the squid was in a berserk state. It was able to react to Dimitri’s power and blocked it completely this time.

Dimtiri’s figure then reappeared right in front of the squid as he waved his sword down. The swing was so powerful that it colored the sky black.

The squid hurriedly blew out water at Dimitri as the latter crashed everything he carried to the blade.

Their clash caused the water to erupt as if there were an earthquake going on in the middle of the ocean.

All the demons are getting pushed back from the area.

Dimitri couldn’t find his winning pattern yet, especially because this squid had a lot of tentacles.

Once his momentum was stopped by the high-pressure water, the squid sent two of its tentacles as if it were trying to squash a mosquito.

Bang!

The slap hit Dimitri directly, as the latter could feel that his left shoulder was dislocated from the slap.

But that slap caused the spiritual energy to be disrupted as well for both of them.

That was why the moment the water pressure changed, even for a second, Dimitri simply let his attack go as the water pressure destroyed it.

His body, on the other hand, slipped past the water pressure as his body finally reached the squid’s body. All this time, the squid had been moving all the tentacles around to keep him away from its body, but this was the biggest chance for him to finally land a direct hit on the squid.

”!!!” The squid was shocked and tried to throw its body to the side.

”You’re not getting away!” Dimitri swung his blade as the shadow expanded that blade.

The squid managed to form a barrier of water to block it, but the shadow blade gradually overpowered that barrier and finally hit the squid’s head, cutting halfway through its head.

”Is it not enough?” Dimitri narrowed his eyes. If his sword had been a bit more powerful, he would have cut the squid’s brain. ”But that’s my strongest attack...”

Dimitri saw the tentacles were coming, ready to expel him from the squid’s defense range.

However, Dimitri recalled something else. There was one technique that might be able to surpass his strongest attack.

He might never learn it properly, but he had seen it so many times.

Dimitri’s expression turned grim. If he could take advantage of this momentum, he might be able to win this battle quickly.

Dimitri raised his blade one more time before the nearest tentacle reached him. The energy was concentrated on his blade, this time, even more than the previous attack.

Realizing the amount of energy, the squid changed the tentacle’s direction from hitting him to standing in the sword’s way so that Dimitri couldn’t cut it.

Dimitri exhaled deeply. Just like what he had seen hundreds, if not thousands, of times... the boy who didn’t know when to stop.

”Divine Slash.”
