Chapter 1613: Overpowered Rune Card

”Executioner Rune. Activate!”

The rune cards were tossed forward. The rune cards then joined with each other, creating a massive rune card.

As someone who possessed the Executioner Rune, Incetta could definitely recognize the Executioner Rune.

’That’s... the Executioner Rune. It’s definitely the same rune embedded as the main cannon of my ship!’ Incetta dropped her jaw. ’Are you telling me that Tristan has a rune card that can contain an advanced level rune?

’No, no, no. Is it the work of my lord?’ Incetta wanted to believe this was the case, but a part of her couldn’t connect Noel and this rune card.

If she wasn’t mistaken about Noel, he was a person who would be fair in his reward and punishment.

If someone made a mistake, he wouldn’t hesitate to punish them.

However, if they made a contribution, Noel would definitely reward them and even acknowledge their work. He wouldn’t claim their works as his unless there was another agreement beforehand.

And Noel had signaled about the hidden weapon Tristan possessed.

This was the same as an acknowledgement of possession. In other words, Tristan was truly the one who created this rune card.

’So, Tristan has achieved this much in rune? His achievement is not pale in comparison to his own teacher. Ultimately, the student will surpass his teacher.

’I see. It’s no wonder that Noel bestowed a new profession upon him. Rune Meister, that title definitely suits him the most.’

Incetta finally understood the reason Tristan was the first and most beloved disciple of Noel.

The Executioner Runes activated at the same time and shot the ancient demon.

With three Executioner Runes getting activated at the same time, the ancient demon couldn’t dodge them all.

He managed to dodge one of them, while the second one grazed the top of his body, but the third one hit and destroyed his one arm completely.

But these three Executioner Runes were never intended to be used to kill.

The three runes were nothing but a distraction. The moment the demon couldn’t withstand the impact and had his posture destabilized, another group of three activated their runes from the other side.

”!!!” The demon panicked and tried to swing its body, but it was too late. The two executioner runes hit his body directly.

*Roar!* The ancient demon screamed in pain. Other demons became even more ferocious, to the point where they tried to break through Annela’s defense.

Annela couldn’t believe it either, but it was true that Tristan possessed a lethal weapon to kill an ancient demon.

The ancient demon collapsed to the ground, but its body was still recovering, showing the tenacious part of the demon.

This was also the reason Incetta couldn’t defeat the ancient demon in such a short time.

But the leader had been waiting for this instance.

He activated his own rune card, hitting the ancient demon from the front.

The ancient demon roared, charging his own power, but it was too late. The activation of the rune card was faster than his own attack, so the beast had no way to avoid the incoming Executioner Rune.

The rune obliterated a part of its body. Coupled with other wounds, the demon ultimately fell to the ground.

Annela dropped her jaw. This was the first time she had witnessed an ancient demon fall this fast.

It was an attack beyond belief.

The only way to escape was to keep dodging the attacks until they finished launching them. In the end, once they used the rune cards, they would become useless.

If not for the escort, a few of them would probably die in the process.

But thanks to Annela and Incetta, they managed to slay an ancient demon without a single casualty.

”You... How many cards do you have?” Incetta asked.

Aluarkan shook his head as if he knew what she wanted. ”One person only has one. It is not something that can easily be created. Even our master only has 5 left in his possession, which will be used in the worst-case scenario.

”So, aside from the 7 people, including me, we still have 14 more. We should be able to kill two more ancient demons at this rate. If not, we will use the remaining runes to kill as many demons as possible.”

Vivi thought for a moment while muttering, ”If that’s the case, shouldn’t it be wiser for us to bring our troops away? They are more than capable of handling the situation here themselves.”

Incetta took a deep breath. ”Annela!”

”Yes, Master?”

”You will now report to Howard. In this battle, Tristan might have overwhelming power, but Howard will have much more stability as the leader.

”However, your team will remain independent and have this one task only. You will escort the suicide squad the moment there is an ancient demon and use that chance to kill the incoming ancient demons. It shall be swift and minimize the casualties.

”In addition, I will bring my ship and 6 airships with me to aid the lord. I want you to fully convey and ask Howard to make the adjustment. With the threat from the ancient demon gone, I hope he can make an adjustment.”

”Understood.” Annela was quite surprised with the order, but the power of the runes definitely convinced her.

Incetta turned to Aluarkan. ”Aluarkan, was it?”

”Yes.”

”I need your team to remain on standby. If necessary, stay with one airship or my city. Focus on staying alive because we still need you. With the threat from the demons, there’s a high chance you will die in the process.”

”That’s why we are called the suicide squad in the first place, but you don’t have to worry. We are people who were supposed to die long ago anyway. Being able to serve the lord as well as humanity one last time is the greatest honor we can have.”

Incetta nodded with a solemn expression. ”Annela, I’ll leave the cleanup to you. I’m going now!”

”Yes, Master!”

Now that she was convinced, she hurriedly departed to her next destination, preparing to turn around the situation.
