Chapter 1620: Mr. Gold

*Clack!*

The door to the main control room was opened. Everyone’s eyes couldn’t help but shift to the one coming inside, only to be surprised by the identity of that person.

”Maxwell?” Rose took a step back. ”Why are you here? Aren’t you supposed to be...”

Maxwell nodded with a serious expression. ”Yes, but I’m escorting a VIP this time. It’s time to turn the situation around.”

”What do you mean?” Rose was confused. She didn’t know any VIPs. Noel hadn’t mentioned it either.

Even when she checked with Elaine, the latter only shook her head.

Suddenly, a middle-aged man entered the room. The man might not be that old, but he had the aura of a dignified noble.

If it were any ordinary noble, they wouldn’t feel this pressure, but they somehow felt an aura similar to that of Noel.

”Who?” Elaine couldn’t recognize this person.

Rose also didn’t recognize him immediately, but she felt like she had seen him somewhere. ’Where did I see his face?’

An image appeared in his mind. It was an image of her childhood.

”Wait... Are you... Mr. Gold?!” Rose asked out loud.

”Mr. Gold?” Elaine and Maxwell became confused. Who in the world was Mr. Gold?

However, the person in question actually recognized that nickname.

Fifteen years ago, he was going to a new destination for his charity. But the village he was supposed to reach was already destroyed thanks to the demons and bandits.

At that time, his soldiers apprehended the bandits who were almost destroying the already ruined village.

So, as usual, he came to the village and transformed it.

At that time, there was a little girl who had lost both her parents. The little girl was deeply saddened that she didn’t want to eat anything, as if she wanted to follow her own parents to the underworld.

Out of compassion, he comforted that little kid until she managed to stand on her two feet.

To make himself more likeable to the kid, he introduced himself as Mr. Gold.

”Are you... that little girl from Kanae River Village?” The man asked with an amused expression.

It was a confirmation. Rose wanted to tear up. She joined the Demon Banner Army because of him, thinking she would get strong enough to help the people against demons or bandits.

She had never returned to her village since she was already an orphan. As a result, she never heard his real name.

”To think that the little girl from back then is now actually working for my son...” The man facepalmed, impressed by the coincidence.

”Son...?” Rose was confused at first, but her expression soon changed after realizing who the person was. ”Wait. You are... Noel’s father, the former lord of the Ardagan family, Luke Ardagan?”

She had heard about Luke and Leysha from Noel, but fate was truly mysterious.

Luke nodded. ”Yes.”

That confirmation blew her mind. Even Elaine couldn’t believe it either.

”I don’t have any power to fight, but that doesn’t mean I’m useless. The reason I come here is to help with the chain of command. Are you the one holding the authority?” Luke asked.

Rose fell silent for a moment before nodding her head. ”I apologize, but even though I know you are his father, I won’t be able to give you the authority.”

Instead of feeling offended, Luke actually smiled. He was happy that Rose had become a very loyal person to his son.

This was the only correct way. If everything the son had could be transferred to his father, it meant the son would have nothing.

However, the fact that Rose remained loyal to Noel meant Noel was above him. In the end, Noel was the current leader of the Ardagan family, not Luke.

”I’m fine not getting the authority. I will act as an advisor, and you will think about whether it’s appropriate to execute that command or not. I have been scheming all my life... All I want is to help my son in this last battle.”

Rose nodded with a solemn expression. ”I will consider your opinion carefully. Please.”

Luke raised one finger. ”We first need to send a direct message to all kingdoms. The two demon kings have shown themselves, so the Supreme Devil must have made his move as well, right?”

”That’s correct. Anna... I mean, Lady Anna is currently facing the Supreme Devil in the Atracaeca Kingdom.” Rose nodded.

”In that case, tell them that the battle has reached the end phase. Now that everyone has laid down all their cards, it’s time to push them back. Send all the information to the four kingdoms that it’s time to settle everything.”

”!!!”

...

Zaecuria Kingdom.

With Luke’s instruction, Rose immediately sent a direct message, using the fastest method to reach them.

”Your Majesty. I have brought the news from the Ardagan family.”

”What’s going on?” The king was startled, wondering if there was another problem.

”The battle has reached the mature phase. All sides have laid down their cards. It’s time to push. In total, there are 30 ancient demons attacking all four kingdoms.

”The Zaecuria Kingdom faces 5 ancient demons, the Atracaeca Kingdom faces 5 as well but with the Supreme Devil, the Greenwood Kingdom is fighting against 3 ancient demons, while the Muivell Kingdom has to handle 12 ancient demons.”

”12...” The king’s face turned pale. He couldn’t imagine what would happen if that was what he had to face.

However, this was not the most important message. He had no choice but to believe Noel Ardagan and act like a king.

The king clenched his hands into fists. There were five ancient demons in their kingdom, so it would be best for them to take care of them immediately so that Noel didn’t have to worry about his back anymore.

The king stood up and shouted, ”Fradania!”

”So, my turn is up!” Fradania smirked.

”Your Majesty...” The ministers panicked, not only for the king’s safety but also theirs.

”Shut up. Don’t be a coward. This is the time for us to launch a counterattack. Fradania, I want you to take down one ancient demon! Bring out the royal army and all the soldiers you need. I want all of them to die.

”Pass my message to all spirit transcendence experts in this kingdom. The time has come. It’s time to eradicate the demons!”
