System vs Rebirth

Chapter 1611: Incoming Final Clash

”You…” The supreme devilʼs eyes turned bloodshot.

Anna took a deep breath. She could finally figure out what had happened in the past. Noel might have reached the same conclusion.

Unlike in this life, Noel was leading a rebellion. He had also stretched his hands to various places, especially the Demon Banner Army.

That was why it wasnʼt weird if Noel learned about things that he didnʼt in this life.

After all, because of her existence, Noel left the Demon Banner Army early.

The supreme devilʼs current body was none other than the body of the former commander of the Demon Banner Army.

So, if Noel investigated it, he would probably find out about this truth.

And with how sharp Noel was, he should be able to figure out the truth behind the supreme devil and the demon king.

Hence, Noel took a gamble. That was to force the demon king to make a move rather than the supreme devil.

Noel might have an incomplete picture of the power of the supreme devil.

He might have figured out the gem of immortality or about the body possession, making him think that if he was defeated by the supreme devil, he would be possessed next.

Rather than getting possessed and letting the enemy get what he wanted, he chose to die.

Noel probably thought he couldnʼt handle both the supreme devil and the land demon king by himself. To achieve it, he needed another person to help him by his side.

So, he chose to turn the ʼenemyʼ to his side. This way, the battle wouldnʼt be one against three, but two against two.

And that enemy was her.

This might have been the thought process Noel had when he chose to die with her. In other words, the betrayal was well within Noelʼs calculations.

However, she wondered if Noel from the previous life truly loved her or not.

After all, his goal was to turn her into his ally. He could lie just so that she would help him even if he didnʼt know anything.

Nevertheless, only one thing mattered. They are together now as husband and wife. There was no need to know that answer anymore.

After fully understanding the conspiracy behind her death, Anna couldnʼt help but smile.

The big mystery in her life had gone. It was so refreshing in her mind now that she wasnʼt burdened by the weight of her past anymore.

All that was left was to fulfill her responsibility.

”I have to thank you. Without you, I wonʼt be able to meet the man whom I love so much now.” Anna raised her sword.

”Thank me? You two are going to die. You might have done something flashy before. Although I donʼt know how Noel Ardagan could raise his power when he was with you, thereʼs no chance for you two to be together anymore. I will kill you here and parade your body in front of Noelʼs eyes.”

Anna scoffed. ”You donʼt understand the power of love. For love, we can overcome anything.”

The original Anna couldnʼt help but add, ʼYou are not wrong, but we both know thatʼs not the case.ʼ

”In that case, you just have to die, and Iʼll be right.”

”Die? Me? Are you sure?” Annaʼs lightning started to spark even more violently than before.

But this lightning was subtly different. Normally, the lightning would shatter everything, but it only harmed the demons without doing anything to the sand.

It was as if she could fully control the lightning intensity.

Then, her lightning started to flicker around her, making it impossible to know the power of the lightning.

”Thunder Godʼs Possession, Third Form, Heavenly Lightning Descent.”

”!!!” The supreme devil was a bit stunned. It was clear Anna hadnʼt used her True Spirit Body, but for some reason, he could already feel the threat emanating from her power.

He thought Anna only had the Lightning Transformation to boost her power, but it looked like he was wrong.

The two of them clashed once again. This time, the intensity increased severalfold.

…

As the big clashes began one after another in all kingdoms, Noel was finally facing the full pressure of the demons.

”Sir, an ancient demon has been spotted in Count Epelinʼs territory!”

”Sir, they are sending 2 ancient demons to Marquis Stargazeʼs territory. Marquis Stargaze is fighting back, but heʼs thinking about retreating depending on the reinforcement.”

”…” Noel had received multiple reports about the ancient demons. He never thought they would be coming one by one.

This report didnʼt come only from the Muivell Kingdom. They also came from other kingdoms.

That was why he had a good grasp of what happened.

”Right now, there have been four ancient demons spotted in the Zaecuria Kingdom. With their current number, it should be enough, but because of the prophecy, thereʼs a chance for them to send more demons to that area.

”The same applies to the Atracaeca Kingdom, but right now, I have sent reinforcements, so we donʼt know if itʼs enough or not.

”Elaine, I want you to monitor the movement from the south. Make sure to keep the balance in the Zaecuria Kingdom and the Atracaeca Kingdom, understand?”

”Yes, my lord.” Elaine nodded furiously.

”The Greenwood Kingdom might end up becoming too passive for this war, so send a message to my grandfather. If theyʼre going to be passive, the least they can do is to send the airships for troops or supplies. Rose, take care of it.”

”Got it. There is only one ancient demon from the sea and two ancient demons from the north, so I guess theyʼre having an easy time.” Rose nodded in agreement.

”Yes. The beast kingdom probably has to fight 4 to 7 ancient demons, but they should manage somehow.

”Meanwhile, we…” Noel looked at the report again. ”…have spotted 8 ancient demons already. The number might increase, and the demon kings are going to make their appearance soon.

”Soon, I will give you the command, Rose. Work together and keep the balance steady. If anything happens, I will try to send a message in one way or another.”

”Understood.”

Noel squinted his eyes. He could feel the final battle was coming.
