Summoners War: Only I Summoned Divine Beasts

Chapter 949: Upgraded Contract

For the next three days, Nathan chose to spend it a bit leisurely. He first absorbed the elite class core that Count Ashton gave him.

As he thought, this core was essential, especially for the next trip. He was going alone, so if his divine beasts could activate their divinity, it was definitely a good thing.

Nathan originally had over 380,000 ena after the trip, as he gathered all of them originally to himself during the trip.

This time, he expected to get at least 800,000 or 900,000 ena from this core, allowing him to reach the arcane level.

He was planning to distribute it to everyone, but there was actually one miscalculation.

The moment he reached 400,000 ena, he was stunned to suddenly have his Soul Contract upgraded.

That was right. It had been a long time since his contract was upgraded, but as expected, the Soul Contract hadnʼt reached its final form yet.

When he reached 500,000 ena, his quality also increased. This time, Nathanʼs quality had finally reached Excellent (Mid).

As a result, his absorption increased all the way to 44%. While they didnʼt have the exact number, Vivianʼs calculation showed that a warrior class core could give a person 6,000 to 85,000 ena, while an elite class core could give 250,000 to 1,900,000 ena, depending on their absorption rate.

And with the increase of his absorption rate, he ended up absorbing around 976,000 ena from the core.

If he added his original 380,000 ena, he ended up with a total of 1,356,000 ena instead of the original 1,200,000 to 1,300,000 he expected.

It was a quite huge increase, but at the same time, the miscalculation actually made him reconsider his decision.

Nathan summoned his divine beasts to discuss this problem. Of course, Kun joined the conversation, so they had to do it outside the city.

”We have a huge problem…” Nathanʼs expression turned solemn. ”I might… not be able to send everyone the ena.”

”!!!” Fenrir and the others couldnʼt help but raise their eyebrows. Although they had become a bit more mature, they were still trying to get ena from Nathan.

Nathan raised his hand, explaining, ”There are two problems. The first problem is that I have reached the new quality at 500,000 ena. If itʼs any higher, I probably wonʼt consider it, but if itʼs 500,000 ena, do you think itʼs better for me to keep this in reserve so that I maintain this quality, allowing more ena to be absorbed into my body?”

”Thatʼs… true.” Fenrir squinted his eyes.

”500,000 is on the borderline. If itʼs 600,000 ena, itʼs better to donate it to us for the time being. But 500,000 means you can donate 400,000 of it to allow the two of us to utilize our divinity.” Anubis nodded.

”That just means there will be more of us that donʼt get leveled up, right?” Mae tilted her head in confusion. ”But we originally planned to do it since you want to summon a fortune beast while unlocking its divinity to pump up your fortune.”

”What about the second problem, Master?” Peng asked.

”The second problem is that my Soul Contract is upgraded.”

”Eh? Congratulations?” Peng looked dumbfounded, wondering why this was a problem.

”Itʼs been a while since that ability was upgraded. What did you get this time?” Fenrir asked.

”Soul Contract is basically something that canʼt be described even with divinity… Iʼm quite curious.” Anubis squinted his eyes.

”The ability I got from Soul Contract this time…” Nathan raised his hand. Ten blank scrolls appeared on top of his hand.

”Huh? Summoning several contracts at once? Not very useful.” Fenrir tilted his head in confusion.

”Obviously not, you dumbass. Itʼs something even more profound.” Nidhogg snorted.

”What did you say?” Fenrir gritted his teeth.

Nathan nodded in agreement. ”Yes. I got two things, actually. In the previous upgrade, it allowed me to make a contract with an intangible object such as the element. This time, Iʼm actually able to form a contract with a man-made object.”

”Man-made objects? Do you mean buildings?” Anubis asked.

”Yes. All kinds of manmade objects you can think of, such as a building or even a natural object.”

”Weapons?” Jinwu added.

”Definitely. In fact, itʼs much more amazing than you thought. Iʼm not entirely sure whether itʼs possible or not, but can I actually use this contract on a magic circle or magic itself?”

”!!!” Everyone suddenly widened their eyes in shock. If it were indeed possible, it would have been insane.

If he was fast enough, he could make a contract for an enemyʼs attack to scatter. Or if the magic circle needed a long time, he could cancel it.

There were some situations where it would be useless, but that was where the second benefit came in.

Nathan pointed at the ten blank scrolls. ”And these ten scrolls… If I have to put it simply, they are called ʼContract Storage.ʼ”

”!!!” Mae and Anubis seemed to understand what was going on.

”Contract Storage… Donʼt tell me, Master. Youʼre able to store that contract?” Mae pointed at the blank contracts. ”Contracting a magic circle and storing it here so that you can use it another time?”

”Yes. However, itʼs not proven whether I can contract a magic circle or not… not yet.” Nathan raised one finger. ”Besides, with this, I might be able to make a contract linking a ghost or something to a weapon, turning it into a weapon spirit.”

”A weapon spirit? But a ghost, huh? Donʼt tell me, youʼre going to use the soul?” Anubis asked. He was the only one dealing with the soul, so he should be the one talking about it.

Nathan had a smug smile. ”Indeed. While you might think this is just a dream of mine, thereʼs a huge benefit to having a weapon spirit with this kind of intelligence.

”If that weapon spirit actually had an understanding of magic, wouldnʼt that mean that spirit could use magic? For example, that weapon spirit could use an amplification magic circle and activate it whenever I shot my sniper rifle. Wouldnʼt that make each bullet significantly stronger than the current state? And this is just my weapon, not everyoneʼs.”

”!!!”
