Summoners War: Only I Summoned Divine Beasts

Chapter 923: Unexpected Agreement

Unfortunately, as Nathan had originally expected, there was nothing big happening on the mountain.

They killed a total of 50,000 aliens in the seven days they used to cross the mountain. It was a number that couldnʼt be underestimated, even with a group of their size.

If not for Nathanʼs skillful commanding, the group would have been exhausted.

Fortunately, with their stronger firepower, the group managed to withstand the entire attack. They gained over a million ena in total, split into six.

Flora chose to use that ena to boost her three Great Spirits. Meanwhile, Sera split evenly for all her familiars.

Alavenya and Noelle took half of the energy for themselves before splitting the rest for their familiars. Only Selena took the ena for herself without sharing. She planned to use all that ena to summon the vampire progenitor.

In her body, there was already over 400,000 ena. She planned to leave 100,000 ena for herself and used the remaining 300,000 ena to summon Lilith.

The eighth day had arrived. According to their calculation, they should be able to cross over this mountain range before dusk.

However, Nathan surprisingly gathered all of them instead of going.

Before saying anything, Nathan waited for Jinwu to return.

Jinwu casually perched on his arm and informed him with a serious expression. ”I have seen it. Weʼre not that far anymore. We probably can reach that place before dark if we hurry.”

Nathan nodded, his expression turning grim. Of course, ʼdarkʼ in Jinwuʼs mouth was calculated based on foot instead of flying.

But Nathan couldnʼt afford to have such an easy time.

”Isnʼt it good, Selena? Weʼre about to reach your father.” Flora grinned.

Selena nodded. Even though she looked calm, she had a hard time containing her excitement.

”But why did you gather us here?” Sera asked. ”Shouldnʼt we go right away?”

Nathan took a deep breath, announcing an important decision. ”From now on, weʼll hop on Pengʼs back and fly across the rest of the mountain. Peng is able to cross any terrain at a high speed. With this distance, it shouldnʼt take over thirty minutes to reach that place.”

”!!!” They looked surprised. If Peng flew in the sky, it would gather the attention of all aliens nearby, whether they were in the mountain or the plain at the foot of the mountain.

It was such a ridiculous decision, especially from Nathan, who usually prioritized safety.

Normally, Flora or Selena would be asking his reason or even questioning his decision.

However, Flora simply smiled while cracking her fingers. ”Alright. Letʼs go.”

”Eh?” Nathan raised his eyebrows. It was a hard decision, even for him, but for some reason, Flora actually agreed without hesitation.

The others didnʼt seem to have any objection as well. Sera pumped her fists. ”Last sprint.”

Noelle and Alavenya remained silent as usual. Selena couldnʼt afford to say anything here, but the reason for their reaction was Selena.

…

A few days ago.

Selena gathered the girls in her tent.

Everyone was shocked when they saw Selena, who usually remained prideful, suddenly falling to her knees. She was practically throwing away her pride to beg everyone.

”Selena? What are you doing?” Flora was startled.

”Let me help you.” Sera approached Selena to help her up, but Selena refused to get up.

Instead, she lowered her head and said, ”No. I…”

When they heard Selenaʼs shaking voice, they couldnʼt help but stop. They knew Selena was about to say something important. This was the first time they saw Selena acting like this.

Selena begged out loud, ”…Nathan might be asking something ridiculous in a few days. I know how ridiculous it is, but as you can see… Iʼm begging you guys. Donʼt say anything and just accept his decision. He… He just…”

He just wanted to help her. Nathan risked the girls having a doubt in his leadership with this plan, but it was all for her sake.

In that case, there was only one thing for her to do. Even if she had to lower her pride, even if she had to kneel, even if she had to beg, she needed to have them accept the decision without any complaints.

For Selena, who kept her pride against her uncle… who never wavered, no matter how much torture it was to live in that mansion… who never pleaded for anyone to save her, she dropped all that just for Nathan. Just like how Nathan could sacrifice everything for her, she was prepared to sacrifice herself for his sake.

The girls were dumbstruck. It was unlike Selena to act this way, but at the same time, they were wondering what happened.

Unfortunately, Selena didnʼt plan to tell them what it was all about.

Flora scratched the back of her head while glancing at the other girls.

…

They ultimately accepted her request. They were quite stunned that Nathan wanted to use Peng here, but as Selena said, this was definitely a ridiculous request. It was endangering everyone.

That was why, just like how they agreed to Selena a few days ago, they accepted his decision without questions.

Nathan was not expecting them to accept this decision, since that was the essence of his group. He loved them because they were not someone who would accept all his decisions without questioning anything.

He could see they were the same, but for some reason, they accepted it.

Flora pointed forward. ”Whatʼs wrong? Arenʼt we going now? Everyone is ready. Summon Peng and letʼs go.”

”Youʼre not asking anything?” Nathan blinked a few times in disbelief.

”You are our leader right now. It looks like you have thought about it carefully. Although I donʼt understand why youʼre choosing this method, I know you have your reason… I know your goal is to save her father without sacrificing anyone. Thatʼs why we will trust your decision this time.” Floraʼs sincere eyes just gave the answer Nathan was looking for.

He could feel the trust in their eyes. Nathan clenched his hands into fists, swearing that he would protect them.

”I understand.” Nathanʼs expression turned solemn. ”Our goal is the palace. Everyone, get ready for a huge battle. Letʼs head out!”
