Summoners War: Only I Summoned Divine Beasts

Chapter 947: Unexpected Clue

While Selena and Count Ashton were dealing with their family problem, Nathan was completely caught by Charlotte.

”What did you say? Karma? Past, present, and future?”

”Yes, yes. And also, there were 5 aliens coming to this world according to the research.” Nathan nodded awkwardly while having a wry smile. Charlotte had pinned him to the ground, refusing to budge until he gave her the answer.

Charlotte simply snorted. ”Who cares about the aliens? The aliens can do whatever they want. I just want to know the truth about strength in this world.”

Nathan sighed. In the end, he told her everything, including what Lilith said about his soul.

”You have died?” Charlotte hurriedly lifted up his shirt, checking his body.

”You…” Nathanʼs eyebrows twitched and slapped her head.

”Ouch. What are you doing?!”

”I donʼt even know if I have died or not!” Nathan let out a long sigh. ”In the end, itʼs all just a theory. There are those two dreams, but nothing else.”

Charlotte opened her mouth as if she wanted to say something. But she soon stopped and let Nathan go.

She regained her composure quickly as she muttered, ”I see… So, the trigger is death. But there arenʼt a lot of people who manage to live again… But this previous summoner of the vampire progenitor was someone who had a second life?”

”According to her, yes. At that time, the person died, but Lilith used everything she had as a last resort before she disappeared from this world… and somehow revived her.” Nathan nodded.

”I see. If death is the trigger, can we just kill someone and resurrect them? We can resurrect them as undead if we want.”

”That might not work.” Nathan shook his head. ”It might have to be a living being. If not, people who are using undead would have a lot of unique ability users under their commands.”

”Fair enough.” Charlotte examined the situation closely. ”How about using your contract to kill someone for a few seconds before returning to life? Your contract should be able to contract with a personʼs heart to have them stop beating for a while, no?”

Nathan shrugged. ”I might be able to do it, but thatʼs just the trigger. They have to fulfill those requirements. For example, the karma. There might be other requirements, and if they donʼt have the requirement…”

”I see. Thatʼs a bit too dangerous. They might not awaken that ability, or if they somehow awaken that ability, they might use your karma to fulfill that requirement.”

”Correct.” Nathan agreed on how dangerous it was. If his karma was being sucked by someone else, he didnʼt know what would happen to him next. He might not be able to help Risa anymore.

”In that case, we need to know the full requirement first. Once we know about it, we have to somehow do it without your help. And itʼs not like there are a lot of people who can fulfill the requirement…”

”Either way, Iʼve told you everything. As for how youʼre going to research it, itʼs up to you.” Nathan let out a long sigh.

”I know.”

Looking at Charlotteʼs serious face put a smile on his face. Despite her obsession, she knew what she could do and couldnʼt do. He said, ”Also, thank you for the summoning circle. Without it, we would have been in danger.”

Charlotte smiled. ”I also need to thank you for giving me this precious information. I would have been stuck for a long time if I didnʼt have this.

”However, thereʼs something I have noticed. If you think about karma, itʼs probably that, right? If you enter the cycle of reincarnation, you are then reborn in this world.

”The karma youʼve accumulated will be calculated and become the perk of your next life. If you were born as a farmer in this life and did a lot of good things, you might be born as a son of a merchant, allowing you to experience things that you hadnʼt in your past life.

”But because your memory was not intact, you wouldnʼt know about it.

”If you think about it, is this the cause of your lack of memory about your previous life? You might have been fighting the aliens so many times, which allowed you to accumulate karma.

”Normally, you would accumulate that karma in your next life, but then… There are two possibilities. The first possibility is that your current soul is the accumulation of thousands of years of your numerous lives, hopping from one body to another. And eventually, it reaches this world that has the innate ability.

”Or the second possibility is that you have been living the same life over and over again. Instead of going to the next reincarnation, you are turning back time or maybe manipulating it so that your next ʼreincarnationʼ is your current self…

”Thatʼs why youʼre able to wield all that karma, but because youʼre taking advantage of the cycle of reincarnation, you donʼt have the memory of your previous lives.

”And thatʼs when the question about your dreams comes… With this theory, thereʼs a chance that these dreams are one of the scenes of your previous lives, not the same life, but the same world. In other words, the first dream might be your 4th reincarnation, while the second dream was your 50th reincarnation.”

”Thatʼs…” Nathan looked down, falling into deep thought. He couldnʼt deny it. If the dreams came from the same life, he might find familiar people. But he might make a different choice in every life, but how would he know? ”Thereʼs no way to prove it for now… unless I get another dream that has a clue about it.”

”Fair enough.” Charlotte nodded.

Thanks to Charlotteʼs conclusion, Nathan got a clearer picture of his current condition. His transmigration had a lot of mystery, but at least he was one step closer to getting the whole truth.

There was a chance that the original Nathan disappeared because only one of them could inherit the karma.

Either way, he hadnʼt told Charlotte about his transmigration because he was still unsure whether he should discuss it or not, since this was a secret deeper than his innate ability.
