Chapter 97: MSOC: Chapter 97

Uchiha Fugaku’s house.

A low, muffled explosion echoed through the silent night sky, unexpectedly sudden.

White mist swirled, and Kai’s figure appeared within.

Looking at the still quiet courtyard, Kai frowned.

”Clang, clang, clang!”

The sound of metal clashing suddenly rang out.

Kai’s eyebrows shot up, and his figure vanished on the spot.

”Itachi, be careful, there are five people hiding,” Uchiha Fugaku shouted urgently.

When he had knocked away the shuriken fired from the ambush in the shadows, he had considered using Susanoo.

Unfortunately, the entire Uchiha clan was under strict surveillance because of Kai.

If Uchiha Fugaku exposed his trump card at this juncture, it would push the Uchiha clan to the forefront of danger.

Moreover, to be able to launch a surprise attack so smoothly under such surveillance was quite thought-provoking.

”Water Release: Water Dragon Bullet!”

Five tearing sounds of air splitting echoed, and five water dragons burst forth, attacking from different angles.

Uchiha Fugaku’s face changed dramatically.

He could escape unscathed from this attack.

But Uchiha Itachi was considered a genius in Konoha.

However, that was only among the younger generation.

According to Uchiha Fugaku’s estimation, Uchiha Itachi’s current strength was comparable to a chūnin at best.

Escaping unscathed from these five Water Dragon Bullets would be extremely difficult.

”Susanoo!”

A familiar voice suddenly rang out, startling Uchiha Fugaku. He quickly saw a familiar figure appearing in front of Uchiha Itachi.

A crimson Susanoo, exuding an ominous aura, appeared, shielding Uchiha Itachi.

Boom!

The five Water Dragon Bullets instantly collided with the Susanoo. Under the immense impact, the Susanoo, like an iron tower, remained unmoved.

Water droplets sprayed everywhere, like a torrential downpour.

”Brother!”

”Kai, how did you get back?”

Uchiha Itachi and Uchiha Fugaku were startled. They never expected Kai to appear and save them at this moment.

Before they could react, lightning surged around Kai, and he vanished.

”That speed was too fast. Even the Sharingan couldn’t capture it. Was it the Lightning Body Flicker Technique?” Uchiha Itachi was startled.

However, Uchiha Fugaku, the moment Kai disappeared, instantly activated his Mangekyō Sharingan.

With his superior dojutsu, he could vaguely see Kai, like a streak of lightning, diving into the shadows.

”That kid’s back. According to the plan, let’s retreat,” a masked ninja said coldly.

Without hesitation, he turned and left.

Their infiltration of Konoha was to lure Kai out and secretly take him outside the village.

But as he turned, the figure that met his eyes made his pupils contract.

”You... how did you appear here? The rumors are true,” the ninja’s expression changed dramatically. As he exclaimed, he pulled out a kunai and stabbed it towards Kai’s chest.

At this close range, his only option was to use this desperate move to force the young man back.

Only then could he have a chance of survival.

Pshh!

Hot blood gushed out, as brilliant as fireworks.

The masked ninja was stunned.

Facing his desperate attack, the young man didn’t even try to dodge.

He didn’t even raise his hand to block it. In the ninja’s eyes, this was a crazy tactic of inflicting self-harm to kill the enemy.

However, as this thought crossed his mind, the intense shock that came from his hand the next moment stunned him.

Clang!

A clear metallic sound rang out. The kunai, as it approached Kai, was repelled by the electric arc surrounding him.

The immense force caused him to feel a sharp pain in his wrist even in death.

Amidst the chaos and the thud of a body hitting the ground, the masked ninja’s last moment was seeing Kai vanish into thin air.

In that instant, he finally understood that the young man who had recently risen in the shinobi world wasn’t just a rumor.

”Father, where did brother go? Did you see?” Uchiha Itachi couldn’t contain himself.

He had always respected Uchiha Shisui.

As a child, Uchiha Itachi had looked up to Uchiha Shisui as a role model.

However, after witnessing Kai’s power and his rise as a seemingly weak opponent, Uchiha Itachi’s young heart was instantly conquered by Kai.

”It’s over,” Uchiha Fugaku said solemnly.

Soon, Kai emerged from the shadows and landed before them.

”It’s over?”

Uchiha Itachi’s expression changed dramatically. In his eyes, only five or six seconds had passed.

In such a short time, Kai had killed all five ninjas who had ambushed them.

This speed was simply astonishing.

In Uchiha Itachi’s eyes, if he had made the attack, he wouldn’t have escaped this fate.

”They’re dead,” Kai patted Uchiha Itachi’s head. ”You guys go rest. I’ll handle the rest.”

Looking at Kai’s calm demeanor, Uchiha Fugaku’s expression changed. ”You didn’t just let one go, planning to chase after them to see who sent them, did you?”

”Kai, don’t forget, the Uchiha clan is in a precarious position. The fact that they were able to launch a surprise attack so smoothly suggests someone else is behind this. I hope you’ll be cautious and not act rashly, endangering the Uchiha clan.”

Against others, Uchiha Fugaku would have already intervened. But after witnessing Kai’s overwhelming strength, he didn’t dare to court humiliation.

”Uncle, don’t worry. They came to our doorstep. If we hide, they’ll only get bolder. You can’t let Auntie and the baby be implicated. Leave this to me. I’m not someone anyone can mess with,” Kai chuckled dryly.

Lightning crackled around him, and he vanished like a ghost.

Watching Kai disappear, Uchiha Itachi couldn’t help but say, ”Father, should we inform Shisui?”

After Kai and Minato Namikaze went to Mount Myōboku, Uchiha Fugaku had told Uchiha Itachi about the battle.

He even revealed Uchiha Shisui’s hidden strength.

But before, Uchiha Itachi would have worshipped Shisui.

However, after hearing about Kai defeating all three of them, his respect for Shisui remained, but the awe was gone.

”No need. If he insists on intervening, the number of people in the shinobi world who could stop him is few. But wasn’t Kai supposed to be learning senjutsu at Mount Myōboku? Why did he suddenly return?” Uchiha Fugaku raised an eyebrow, showing a puzzled expression.
