Chapter 57: MSOC: Chapter 57

Looking at Kakashi’s determined face, Minato Namikaze was filled with helplessness. He just hoped that Kai wouldn’t keep poking at Kakashi’s fragile heart.

”Alright, Rin, you treat Kakashi’s wound now. We’re going to split up,” Minato Namikaze said.

”Originally, I was quite worried about you guys. But with Kai around, I believe there won’t be any major problems.”

Leaving those words behind, Minato Namikaze picked up his backpack and vanished like a ghost.

Whew!

Uchiha Obito breathed a sigh of relief and plopped down beside Kai. He said nervously, ”Kai, I didn’t expect you to be hiding so much.”

”Sharingan, powerful Lightning Release. No wonder you became a Jōnin Elite. You’re definitely better than some people.”

As he spoke, Uchiha Obito couldn’t help but look at Kakashi.

He clearly intended to use Kai to intimidate others.

”I don’t know who it was, but when the enemy attacked, they were scared silly. Who was the one who kept saying they would protect Rin?” Kakashi clearly vented his anger at Uchiha Obito.

You!

Uchiha Obito was furious. He quickly said, ”I just had sand in my eye.”

”It’s Kai who stole my thunder.”

Looking at the two of them, on the verge of a fight, Kai couldn’t help but feel helpless.

Kids arguing, they really didn’t need a reason.

”Rin, has Kakashi’s wound stopped bleeding?” Kai looked at Kakashi’s wound.

Rin was the medical ninja of this small team.

However, her medical ninjutsu was clearly just beginner level.

To learn medical ninjutsu, one had to have precise chakra control. This alone was a threshold that only one in a hundred could pass.

For Rin to reach this level was already quite good.

”Kakashi’s wound is a bit deep. It’ll take some time,” Rin wiped the sweat from her forehead.

Kakashi frowned. ”Rin, if you’re tired, rest for a while. Don’t worry about the wound for now. I’m fine.”

As he spoke, Kakashi took out a bandage.

However, as soon as he moved, he saw Kai’s hand on his shoulder.

”Let me do it. I’m already a burden. If you get hurt, I’ll have to worry about taking care of you,” Kai said, rotating his chakra in his right hand.

The Palm Sage Technique instantly activated.

Feeling the pain in his shoulder quickly subside and the wound healing rapidly, not only Kakashi and Uchiha Obito, but even Rin, the medical ninja, was stunned.

”Kai, are you a medical ninja too?” Rin couldn’t contain herself.

As a medical ninja, she knew how difficult it was.

Now, Kai was able to heal the wound so quickly. This required at least the level of a high-level medical ninja.

”Half, I guess.”

Watching Kakashi’s shoulder wound heal, Kai dissipated the chakra in his hand. ”Next, we’re going to catch a big fish.”

Thirty minutes later, Kai and his group entered the bamboo forest.

Feeling the silence around them, Kakashi suddenly stopped everyone.

”Earth Release: Earth Spike!”

Earth spikes erupted from the ground, piercing upwards in a dense formation, capable of easily turning a person into a beehive.

”Scatter!”

Kai’s lips twitched slightly. This was very similar to the original story.

It felt like Kai had gained a kind of precognitive ability.

The four instantly moved, scattering in all directions.

However, everyone’s gaze, consciously or unconsciously, fell on Nohara Rin.

Nohara Rin landed on the water’s surface. Her feet had just found their footing when ripples spread out from behind her.

The Iwa ninja, using the Camouflage Hiding Technique, appeared like a ghost, then grabbed Nohara Rin.

”Haha, three idiots, they can’t even protect a woman. Don’t worry, we’ll take good care of her,” Akatsuchi said, then quickly retreated.

The same went for the Iwa ninja who was using Earth Release to cover himself.

For a moment, the vast bamboo forest fell into a deathly silence.

”There really is an ambush. Kai was right. That Iwa ninja didn’t go back. They’ll definitely try to make a move. And seeing how young we are, they’ll be tempted to do something,” Nohara Rin emerged from the shadows.

”If they knew that they had captured Kai’s shadow clone, I wonder what their reaction would be.”

As she spoke, even Kakashi’s gaze towards Kai became a little quieter.

Kakashi considered himself a Konoha genius and had a good mind. He thought that nine out of ten young people could be seen through.

However, facing Kai, Kakashi felt a sense of mystery.

”Kai really is a prophet. What should we do now? Should we chase after them immediately?” Uchiha Obito was a little excited.

As long as he could see Kakashi fail, that was enough.

”No, we’ll catch the thief before catching the king. We’ll catch them all,” Kai smiled playfully.

On the other hand, Kurotsuchi and Akatsuchi, carrying Kai’s clone, landed in a nearby rocky cave.

”This girl is really quiet. It seems she knows that those three guys can’t save her from us,” Akatsuchi said with a mocking smile.

”Now, all we have to do is use genjutsu on her and quickly gather some intelligence.”

”As long as we can find out the number of Konoha ninjas and their layout, we’ll be the heroes of this battle.”

Kurotsuchi placed Kai’s clone against the wall and signaled Akatsuchi to use genjutsu.

As Akatsuchi quickly formed hand seals, he roared coldly.

”Genjutsu: Hypnosis!”

A mental wave emanated from Akatsuchi.

Soon, they saw Kai, who had been quiet, instantly become dazed.

Akatsuchi and Kurotsuchi were stunned. This hypnosis was too easy!

”Akatsuchi, it seems we’re in luck. Before the main force arrives, we should be able to dig out some intelligence,” Kurotsuchi said with a touch of excitement.

As he spoke, he walked towards Kai.

He reached out his right hand and gently lifted Kai’s chin.

The next moment, the smile he saw made his face stiffen.

”What’s wrong? Do I look convincing?”

His quiet voice, like a hurricane, swept through the air.

Akatsuchi and Kurotsuchi’s faces instantly changed.

”Who are you?”

Facing this girl!

No!

It should be said that the moment this male voice echoed, they instantly understood that this was a trap.

”Haha, go out and take a look. You’ll find out,” Kai said with a playful smile.

The next moment, with a bang, his body turned into a cloud of white mist and dissipated into the air.

The sudden outburst made Akatsuchi and Kurotsuchi’s nerves tense.

Without thinking twice, they quickly retreated.

However, as soon as they reached the entrance of the cave, they felt the heat of the flames rushing towards them.
