Chapter 61: MSOC: Chapter 61

”Alright, you guys wait here for Minato Namikaze to arrive. I have some other things to take care of.” Kai dismissed his Susanoo.

Kakashi and the others were stunned. They asked urgently, ”Kai, what happened? Is there a fish that got away?”

Kai had originally planned to come up with an excuse, but now that Kakashi had helped him fill in the blanks, he didn’t need to think anymore.

”That’s right. There was another ninja watching from a distance, but he didn’t come into range to attack,” Kai nodded. ”However, he should have been affected by the shockwave of the attack. He must be injured.”

”Kai, let’s go together,” Uchiha Obito couldn’t contain himself.

Seeing his eagerness, Kai rolled his eyes helplessly. ”You’re not afraid, are you?”

”Don’t you want to awaken the Sharingan? You’ve been avoiding battles. You’ll never be able to awaken it. Facing your difficulties and your opponents head-on is the only way to victory.”

Kai patted Uchiha Obito’s shoulder, then looked at Kakashi. ”You’re the captain now.”

”I won’t be using this Lightning Blade. I’ll give it to you as a gift for becoming a Jōnin.”

”Don’t forget, the White Fang of Konoha was above the Sannin. You should have a measure of what’s right and wrong in your heart. Don’t forget the White Fang’s swordsmanship. If you don’t want to learn it, you can give it to me.”

Leaving those words behind, Kai’s lightning surged around him.

The next moment, he vanished into thin air.

”He really left,” Uchiha Obito couldn’t help but say.

”Will Kai come back?”

Facing those words, Kakashi and the others’ expressions froze.

Kai’s words just now sounded like he was making arrangements for his death.

”Should we go support him?” Nohara Rin couldn’t contain herself. ”We’re a team. We might not be as strong as Kai, but we can’t just ignore him.”

”Rin’s right. Let’s go support Kai,” Uchiha Obito quickly agreed.

However, as soon as he took a step, Kakashi stopped him.

”Obito, do you think we can handle an opponent that even Kai considers difficult?”

”Don’t forget, we were completely useless just now. The only thing we can do now is wait for Minato-sensei to arrive and tell him what happened here.”

On the other hand, a charred figure emerged from the ground near where Kai had fought the Iwa ninjas.

His face was filled with terror.

”I almost, I almost died. If I hadn’t reproduced spores beforehand and left a backup plan, I would have died under that Kirin. I’m definitely dead,” Black Zetsu’s face turned pale.

This time, he was inhabiting an Iwa ninja. He had originally planned to take advantage of the situation to get a descendant of the Uchiha clan for Uchiha Madara.

To continue with his plan.

According to the intelligence he had gathered, he discovered that there were two members of the Uchiha clan on the battlefield this time.

Originally, in his eyes, it was a piece of cake for nearly two hundred people to capture just two members of the Uchiha clan.

So, along the way, he kept persuading Kari to capture the enemy, no matter the cost.

However, Black Zetsu never imagined that he would not only encounter the recently famous Blood Asura, but his strength was so great that he killed them all with a single Lightning Release jutsu.

If Black Zetsu hadn’t been careful beforehand, he would probably be dead now.

”No, I must tell Uchiha Madara. He needs to know that a terrifying existence has appeared in the Uchiha clan.” Black Zetsu looked around, chose a direction, and quickly fled.

In his understanding, Kai’s strange eyes were probably no different from Uchiha Madara’s.

”As expected, this cockroach is hard to kill,” Kai emerged from the shadows.

Looking at the figure fleeing in the distance, he smiled playfully.

In the original story, after Kakashi counter-killed after being buried by Iwa’s Earth Release, he encountered the Iwa main force. Then, Minato Namikaze came to the rescue with the Flying Thunder God Technique.

Unfortunately, when they cleaned up the battlefield afterwards, they didn’t find Uchiha Obito’s body.

This made Kai guess that Black Zetsu must have been lurking in the basin from the beginning.

Perhaps he had been inhabiting an Iwa ninja.

So, from the very beginning, Kai had been preparing.

He was preparing to give Black Zetsu a big gift, which is why he used Lightning Release: Kirin.

He spared his life for now, all for the sake of meeting Uchiha Madara.

According to the original timeline, Uchiha Madara had already transplanted the Rinnegan onto Nagato.

Moreover, due to his age and the old injury he sustained from his battle with the First Hokage, his strength was now a tenth of what it used to be.

However, this time, he was facing a legendary ninja, and Kai still wanted to be cautious.

Otherwise, if he capsized in a ditch, it wouldn’t be like Kai’s usual way of doing things.

He would only say these words to Kakashi and the others at the last moment.

Half a day later, Kai looked at the silent Grass ninja village in front of him and was stunned.

He finally understood why the Grass ninja village didn’t stop Iwa from passing through.

Now that Black Zetsu had escaped to this place, this must be where Uchiha Madara was hiding.

The Grass ninja village was also under their control.

”Keep a close eye on things. This is a crucial time. The village head said not to let any Konoha ninjas or Iwa ninjas enter the village,” a small leader appeared at the entrance of the village and said solemnly.

The two Grass ninjas hiding in the shadows instantly became vigilant.

However, the next moment, their pupils constricted.

A figure enveloped in lightning appeared in front of the leader. With a flash of lightning from his right hand, the leader’s head flew off.

”Enemy attack!”

This thought flashed through the minds of the two sentries.

As they were about to send an emergency signal, the figure enveloped in lightning appeared beside them like a ghost.

”You guys should get some sleep,” Kai’s hands turned into blades, and he slashed at the back of their necks.

The two of them didn’t even have time to scream before they fainted.

After taking care of the ninjas on the outskirts, Kai didn’t hesitate. He flickered and infiltrated the Grass ninja village like a ghost.

Compared to Konoha Village, the Grass ninja village was a complete shantytown.

There should be only about a thousand people in the village, and only about a hundred of them could be considered ninjas.

Of those, probably less than one-third could stand on their own and become Chūnin. Having ten Jōnin would be considered pretty good.

So, all this time, the Grass ninja village had only existed as a buffer between Konoha and Iwa Village.

The fact that they had allowed Iwa to march straight through was completely beyond Konoha’s understanding.

”According to the hypnosis just now, the cave ahead is the forbidden area of the Grass ninja village. Uchiha Madara must be hiding there,” Kai said to himself.

With his current strength, he could come and go as he pleased, not only in the Grass ninja village but also in Konoha Village.

If he wasn’t worried about scaring the enemy and letting Uchiha Madara and Black Zetsu escape, he would have charged right in.

He would have made the Grass ninja village hand them over directly.

”There’s a sound. It sounds like Black Zetsu,” Kai’s eyebrows twitched, a hint of joy in his eyes.
