Chapter 55: MSOC: Chapter 55

Seeing Kai who didn’t seem to care at all, Kakashi and the others were dumbfounded, unable to respond.

Minato Namikaze was also helpless.

Looking around at all the Konoha ninjas, probably only Kai would dare to say such a thing.

After all, not long ago, another legend in Konoha, Sakumo Hatake, had been blamed for violating the rules and died in despair.

”Orochimaru-sama, they have left,” Fū Yamanaka emerged from the shadows.

”Really? This is exciting,” Orochimaru, in a new body, walked out of Konoha Village with a swagger.

He licked his dry lips with his crimson tongue and said, ”I thought it would take some effort to get Minato Namikaze to leave. It seems heaven is on my side.”

”Keep tracking him. I’ll catch up soon. The Mangekyō Sharingan is destined to be mine.”

Leaving those words behind, Orochimaru vanished into thin air.

Fū Yamanaka and Aburame Torune, who had arrived late, exchanged glances and said, ”Let’s move. Don’t forget to leak the information to Iwa. If we can use Iwa’s hand to kill Kai, it would be best.”

”Danzo-sama said that Orochimaru is a double-edged sword. If we don’t use him properly, he might hurt us.”

Aburame Torune nodded. ”For Root, let’s go.”

Half a day later, Kai and his group finally reached the outskirts of their target.

”Alright, we’ll rest here first and discuss the current situation,” Minato Namikaze took out a scroll of terrain maps.

”This time, our opponent is Iwa.”

”There’s a Grass ninja village between us and Iwa. Originally, the existence of the Grass ninja village was a buffer between us and Iwa. If Iwa attacked, the Grass ninja village would also serve as a defense, giving Konoha time to prepare.”

”However, this time, when we discovered it, Iwa’s army of over a thousand had already crossed the Grass ninja village’s defense line. They’re only three kilometers from our Konoha defense line.”

What?

Kakashi and the others’ faces changed.

The reason why the Grass ninja village could survive in the gap between the two great nations was because of the tacit agreement of the two nations.

After all, if the two countries’ borders were connected, they wouldn’t be able to sleep peacefully at night.

To ease relations between Iwa and Konoha, the Grass ninja village became a necessary existence.

However, now Iwa had unknowingly crossed the Grass ninja village’s defense line. There were only two possibilities.

First: The Grass ninja village was destroyed instantly by Iwa without even putting up a fight.

Second: The Grass ninja village had defected to Iwa and surrendered without resistance.

In Kai’s eyes, the second option was more likely.

After all, for a small country to serve as a buffer, it had to have a balanced fighting force.

Now, Konoha Village had three battlefields open at the same time, and they were also being watched by the Cloud ninja village from behind.

Unless they were fools, everyone would think that Konoha Village was doomed to lose.

Compared to Iwa’s army of over a thousand, Konoha’s dozens of people seemed pathetic.

Opening the door for the future victor was the way of survival for small countries.

”I think you all understand the situation. Since Kai doesn’t want to be the captain, we’ll leave it to Kakashi,” Minato Namikaze said helplessly, looking at Kai.

”Teacher, my only hope is that after this war, I can still see you standing in front of me.”

”If there’s nothing else important, let’s go.”

This was Kakashi and Uchiha Obito’s first time entering a battlefield of this level.

But they had no choice but to press on.

The four of them flickered and leaped into the forest.

Kai stretched and glanced at the bushes behind him, smiling playfully.

”This time, I really hope I can catch a big fish. I’m getting bored of just catching small shrimp,” he said.

Leaving those words behind, Kai didn’t linger and followed them.

Kakashi had dashed hundreds of meters ahead. Seeing Kai, who had arrived late, he couldn’t help but frown. ”Keep up with the team. I’m the captain now.”

Looking at Kakashi, who was full of himself, Kai rolled his eyes. ”I gave you the captaincy. Don’t forget, I don’t care about rules.”

You!

Kakashi was furious.

Minato Namikaze couldn’t help but feel a headache watching this.

He really regretted letting Kai and Kakashi team up.

Even he couldn’t get Kai to cooperate properly, let alone Kakashi.

”Stop!”

Kakashi suddenly stopped and gestured with his hand.

Minato Namikaze nodded with satisfaction and looked at the large tree in the distance.

He could sense the enemy hiding there.

”Kakashi, let’s discuss tactics first. There are quite a few enemies,” Minato Namikaze suggested.

Kakashi glanced at Kai and said, ”Teacher, we don’t need to. We’re in a hurry. If we keep discussing, the enemies might escape.”

”I just developed a new jutsu, just like your name, Teacher.”

As soon as he finished speaking, Kakashi flipped his hands quickly, full of arrogance.

With the last hand seal formed, lightning instantly crackled and gathered.

Raikiri!

Being able to develop an A-ranked jutsu at the age of fifteen or sixteen made him a standout among his peers.

Feeling the immense power of this destructive technique, Obito and Rin’s faces changed.

”Kakashi, we don’t know how many enemies there are. This jutsu is powerful, but you’ll face many unknown variables,” Minato Namikaze reminded him solemnly.

”Kai, you help persuade him.”

Kai rolled his eyes. ”Minato, you really like to throw dirt on me.”

”I can tell you honestly, this Raikiri is fast, but your experience and nerve reaction speed can’t keep up. If you go out now, you’ll be dead.”

Hearing this merciless criticism, Minato Namikaze smiled wryly. He regretted letting Kai interrupt.

”Hmph, this is the jutsu I developed. I know it best,” Kakashi snorted. ”I don’t need your random evaluation of its drawbacks.”

”Minato-sensei, cover me. It’ll only take a moment. I’ll kill them all.”

Seeing Kakashi’s determination, Minato Namikaze nodded helplessly.

Bang!

Kakashi slammed his right hand into the ground. The violent lightning arc shattered the ground.

The next moment, he shot out like a cannonball. With the Lightning Release Vital Cell Activation, his speed was clearly faster than before.

”Kai, watch this. This is my strength.”

His words were mixed with thunder.

Seeing Kakashi charging forward so brazenly, even the Iwa ninjas hiding behind the tree were startled.

”Damn brat, you underestimate me. You dare to attack head-on,” the Iwa ninja snarled, quickly throwing out a barrage of shuriken.

However, as soon as the shuriken got close to Kakashi, Minato Namikaze deflected them with his own shuriken.
