Chapter 69: MSOC: Chapter 69

The quiet voice, in the mist-shrouded forest, sent a strange chill down their spines, from their feet to their heads. Zabuza Momochi’s face also darkened.

”Blood Asura, don’t push your luck. Or even a cornered dog will bite,” he said.

Ten days ago, when news of the annihilation of the vanguard force that had attacked Konoha’s northwest stronghold reached the Mist village, Zabuza Momochi had been shocked.

He knew that the leader of that force, the ”Pufferfish Demon in Mist”, Fuguki Suikazan, and one of the ”Thunder of the Hidden Mist”, Raiga Kurosuki, were no less skilled than him among the Seven Ninja Swordsmen.

In some ways, they were even better than him.

After all, the possessors of the Kubikiribocho throughout history were best known for their silent assassination techniques.

In a direct confrontation, Zabuza Momochi admitted that he was indeed not as good as Fuguki Suikazan and Raiga Kurosuki.

However, even they, working together, had been killed by the Blood Asura.

If it wasn’t necessary, Zabuza Momochi really didn’t want to fight Kai.

”Haha, sorry, I just like to corner my prey,” Kai smiled warmly. ”Besides, I’m running low on chakra. If you don’t mind, let me have a go at you!”

”Wind Release: Wind Break!”

Kai grabbed behind him, and Samehada was instantly summoned.

Without any fancy moves, he slashed towards the mist-shrouded forest in front of him.

Boom!

As the blade fell, endless gale force winds erupted, transforming into countless wind blades that swept out.

The mist that enveloped the entire world dissipated quickly, like a retreating veil.

Some trees were even cut in half by the wind blades.

”Scatter!”

Zabuza Momochi roared.

In the past, in the vast ninja world, the Demon of the Hidden Mist, Zabuza Momochi, was feared by the ninjas of the Five Great Nations.

However, the situation had completely reversed.

Seeing the mist scattering, Zabuza Momochi didn’t think twice. He grabbed a Mist ninja beside him, threw him behind him, and quickly fled.

”Sorry, it’s not good to throw trash around,” Kai said playfully.

His voice, laced with amusement, suddenly came from behind.

Kai’s lightning flared, and he transformed into a thunderbolt in the sky.

The Samehada in his hand writhed, and a huge head flew off.

The next moment, Kai grabbed the head in his hand. The chakra within the body was mostly absorbed by Samehada before it dissipated into the world.

Hearing the screams coming from behind, Zabuza Momochi’s face changed dramatically.

He quickly sped up, trying to escape, but the world blurred before his eyes.

The figure he least wanted to see stood in front of him, and the head he was holding was the subordinate he had thrown behind him.

”Please take back your trash,” Kai said, throwing the head back to Zabuza Momochi.

Blood splattered everywhere, making Zabuza Momochi’s face twitch.

The next moment, his face contorted, and he roared angrily.

”Kid, since you’re forcing me, then die!”

”Water Release: Giant Water Fall!”

Zabuza Momochi quickly flipped his hands, chakra frantically gathering in his hands.

A figure wrapped in lightning, like a ghost, appeared in front of him, one step ahead.

”I said, when you have a lot of chakra, let me have a go first!” Kai smiled playfully.

He swung Samehada towards Zabuza Momochi.

The sudden outburst made Zabuza Momochi’s face change dramatically.

Without thinking, he quickly dissipated the gathered chakra, raised his Kubikiribocho, and blocked.

Bang!

A dull collision echoed.

The tremendous force of the impact sent Zabuza Momochi flying backwards.

He finally stopped when he crashed into a tree eight meters away.

”What strength, what swordsmanship.”

In the moment of their collision, the position where Kai’s Samehada struck was clearly the weakest point of the Kubikiribocho, near the hilt.

He was able to change his target in an instant.

This was completely beyond Zabuza Momochi’s understanding of Kai.

In his eyes, Kai was very strong.

But wielding Samehada, such a large weapon, was clearly very difficult.

After all, in the original story, only one person could wield all seven ninja swords at the same time.

That was Mangetsu Hōzuki.

So even Zabuza Momochi, even with the Samehada in his hand, wouldn’t be able to unleash the power that Kai had shown.

”Haha, thank you for your chakra,” Kai said, not rushing to chase after him.

That strike, combined with the variation of the Moonlit Dance of the Three Moons that he had used, not only took advantage of the Kubikiribocho’s weakness to knock Zabuza Momochi back, but also gave Samehada enough time to steal half of Zabuza Momochi’s gathered chakra.

Listening to the sound of Samehada chewing and the chakra transmitted through the hilt, Kai’s dry cells and chakra gradually replenished.

It felt like a parched land meeting a refreshing rain.

Although the amount wasn’t much, the quality was good.

Zabuza Momochi’s face turned pale. He couldn’t help but clench the Kubikiribocho in his hand.

He could feel the chakra being taken from him more directly.

Based on that strike, if he took another ten or so strikes, Zabuza Momochi’s chakra would probably be completely drained.

”Zabuza-sama, what do we do now?”

The Mist ninjas behind him, who had been hesitant to move, watched as the so-called Blood Asura had even suppressed Zabuza Momochi, one of the Seven Ninja Swordsmen.

This completely overturned their understanding.

Originally, they had been skeptical of the so-called Blood Asura.

But now, their doubts were completely dispelled, replaced by fear.

”Shut up!”

Feeling the urgent gazes around him, Zabuza Momochi’s face contorted.

The next moment, he instantly used the Body Flicker Technique and disappeared.

Seeing this, Kai’s nerves tightened slightly, but he soon smiled with interest.

Zabuza Momochi, who had disappeared, didn’t sneak attack.

Instead, with a flash, he appeared in front of the three Mist ninjas behind him.

He swung his Kubikiribocho, and the three heads flew off, their faces filled with disbelief.

The sudden outburst shook everyone’s nerves.

The remaining seven or eight Mist ninjas couldn’t contain themselves. They turned and fled.

However, Zabuza Momochi clearly had no intention of stopping.

He took a step, and the Body Flicker Technique unfolded again, turning into a phantom as he chased after them.

After just two or three minutes, Kai saw Zabuza Momochi walking back with seven heads.

”I surrender,” Zabuza Momochi said grimly.

”Surrender?”

Kai smiled warmly.

”You killed them all without saying a word. Before you surrender, let me have a go at you twice.”
