My Talent Skill Mutated

”Brother Yu, let me introduce you. This is Dongfang Wan, she’s also a good sister of mine.”

An Ran began the introduction.

Chen Yu looked at the woman in the trench coat with wavy hair.

’Dongfang Wan?’

’Another member of the Dongfang family?’

”Hello. It’s a pleasure to meet you. I’ve heard An Ran mention you many times.” Dongfang Wan smiled, her voice gentle.

”Hello.”

Chen Yu nodded in greeting.

He didn’t mind getting acquainted with a member of a super-rich family like this.

More friends mean more opportunities.

An Ran looked at Chen Yu and said, ”Brother Yu, I had Sister Wan arrange for people to support you, but by the time they arrived, you’d already solved the problem. Tell me, was that member of the Demon Lizard Race strong?”

Curiosity showed on An Ran’s face.

”Very strong. Normal abilities could barely harm it. The lizardman has two forms. In its transformed state, it turns golden, and its power is terrifying,” Chen Yu said.

The first Alien Race he had ever encountered had left a deep impression on Chen Yu.

It was powerful in its normal form, and even more so after transforming.

If it weren’t for that trump card Skill, he never would have been able to take it down.

”The Demon Lizard Race is indeed formidable. Their transformed state is terrifying, their power increases dramatically, and they can even fight opponents above their level with ease. In their transformed state, they’re nearly invulnerable to conventional weapons, and they can recover from injuries in an instant. If you don’t kill them in one hit or inflict a devastating, fatal wound, they’re extremely difficult to kill.”

Dongfang Wan said.

Chen Yu nodded. He had to agree with that.

”However, the Demon Lizard Race is just an average Alien Race, not one of the most powerful ones.”

Dongfang Wan added.

”Have you seen any other Alien Races?” Chen Yu asked, looking at Dongfang Wan.

Dongfang Wan nodded. ”I once encountered the Celestial Beetle Race. They have the body of a man and the head of a bull, and their strength is terrifying. They are also a highly civilized race. Compared to the Demon Lizard Race, they’re just as powerful.”

’Celestial Beetle Race, a minotaur?’ An image flashed through Chen Yu’s mind as he listened to Dongfang Wan’s description.

”Brother Yu, you were amazing this time. The academy made an exception and awarded you credits again, a full hundred thousand of them.”

An Ran said, looking at Chen Yu.

’One hundred thousand credits...’

Chen Yu smiled faintly. The credits weren’t that important to him.

Of course, he wouldn’t mind getting more of them.

This stuff was money, after all.

If he accumulated enough and there was nothing suitable to exchange them for, he could convert them directly to cash. That would be a considerable sum.

One credit is worth a hundred!

One hundred thousand credits would be ten million!

It would just about meet his initial standard of becoming a self-made millionaire.

...

After chatting for a while, the two of them left. Afterward, Baili Qing and Xu Feng also came to see him. The doctors and nurses examined him and confirmed there were no issues, which put their minds at ease.

”Brother Yu, get some good rest. If you need anything, just send me a message,”

Baili Qing said, looking at Chen Yu.

Chen Yu nodded. After they left, he immediately checked his Source of Life.

’Eight million, seven hundred and fifty thousand...’

His eyes lit up as he looked at the Source of Life on the interface.

’Looks like I got quite a bit from that Level 7 lizardman... close to seven million,’ Chen Yu thought.

Based on his conversation with Baili Qing and the others, Chen Yu could roughly deduce how much Source of Life he had obtained.

The bulk of it must have come from the lizardman; it was the first Level 7 being he had ever killed.

Of course, with the lizardman’s level of power, it was probably a formidable existence even among Level 7s.

But that seven million-plus had come at a price.

’Alien Races... come to think of it, they give a better return than beasts.’

Chen Yu clicked his tongue.

However, Alien Races weren’t as easy to encounter as beasts. Being able to take care of a member of the Demon Lizard Race this time was just a coincidence.

’In the future, I should start with the Heterodox Sect. I might find traces of Alien Races that way.’

Chen Yu thought to himself. Coming back to his senses, he looked at the interface, and with a thought, he chose to evolve his physical body.

Five million Source of Life consumed.

BOOM—!

Inside his body, it was like a massive explosion. A vast torrent engulfed his form, impacting his flesh and cells.

That pleasant sensation washed over him once again!

A pleasure that permeated from spirit to flesh!

Every inch of his muscles and bones hummed.

This time, it lasted even longer. His flesh, cells, muscles, and bones underwent a sublimation of life as the immense torrent washed over them.

When the pleasant sensation faded, Chen Yu opened his eyes again.

The increase in his strength was obvious. His body had become much more powerful. Chen Yu felt that he could now withstand attacks from ordinary firearms with his physical body, no problem.

Even a missile might not be able to kill him. And that was without using any Skills. If he unleashed his Skills, with the powerful protection of his Biological Force Field, he might even be able to withstand a nuclear explosion.

’With my current increased strength, amplified by the Biological Force Field, I should be able to gain the upper hand against a Level 7 lizardman.’ The thought flashed through Chen Yu’s mind.

Even against a transformed lizardman, he was confident he could gain the upper hand with his newfound strength.

[Body Evolution successful. Acquired Skill—Destructive Celestial Light!]

A line of faint text appeared before his eyes.

’Destructive Celestial Light?!’

’What kind of Skill is this?!’

Chen Yu stared, stunned, at the text that had appeared.

Coming to his senses, Chen Yu focused his thoughts and opened the Skill’s details.

[Skill: Destructive Celestial Light (Epic) - Break the barrier of space-time to summon a destructive celestial light and attack enemies. Consumes user’s own energy as a cost. The greater the consumption, the stronger the amplification...]

”HOLY SHIT!!!”

Chen Yu’s pupils contracted in shock.

’Looking at the detailed Skill description before me,’ he thought, ’this ability seems badass! And not just regular badass! It’s ridiculously badass!’

’Break the barrier of space-time, summon a Destructive Celestial Light...’

’Epic...’

’Is this a new Skill tier?’

Chen Yu suppressed the storm in his heart and looked at the Skill details.

So far, he had only seen two Skill tiers.

One was Legend!

The other was Golden Legend!

And now, there was another one!

Epic Level!

As for which was stronger, Legend or Golden Legend, that wasn’t certain. It depended on the specifics of the ability.

But based on his gut feeling, Golden Legend was probably a cut above.

Of course, a Legendary Level ability definitely wouldn’t be bad.

So far, Chen Yu hadn’t figured out the details of the Skill tiers.

As a rough comparison, Golden Legend would be S-rank, and a Legend ability was probably similar.

But ultimately, it all came down to the Skill’s specific ability.

A low-tier ability wasn’t necessarily bad; it could be upgraded through awakening.

Freezing Breath was a perfect example!

But an Epic Level ability... this was a first!
