My Talent Skill Mutated

DING~

The sound of the doorbell pulled Chen Yu back from his thoughts.

Getting up from the sofa, Chen Yu walked to the entrance and opened the door.

A beautiful, curvaceous woman stood at his door. She wore gold-rimmed glasses, had ear-length short hair, and two small dimples on her face. Dressed in a black-and-white professional suit, she exuded the charm of a mature woman.

”You must be the new student, Chen Yu?” the beautiful woman in the gold-rimmed glasses asked, her voice gentle.

Chen Yu nodded.

”Hello, I’m your mentor. My name is Tianhai Yoou.”

The woman in the gold-rimmed glasses smiled and extended her hand.

Mentor?!

Chen Yu stared in surprise at the woman before him.

Tianhai Yoou...

’What an unusual name.’

’But I feel like I’ve heard it somewhere before.’

Snapping back to his senses, Chen Yu shook her hand. ”Hello, Master Tianhai.”

Tianhai Yoou pushed up her glasses and looked at Chen Yu. ”Student Chen Yu, since this is your first day, come with me to meet the other new students.”

”Oh, okay.” Chen Yu nodded.

He then stepped out, closed the door, and followed Tianhai Yoou.

”You’ve been assigned to the first-year Elite Class Nine. Including you, there are a total of three students. You’ll get to know each other, and from now on, you’ll be a single team.”

Tianhai Yoou explained as they walked.

”Only three?” Chen Yu was surprised.

Tianhai Yoou explained, ”Three students per class is the standard arrangement for the Superpower Academy’s elite program. The focus is on quality over quantity. A-rank students are rare, so a three-person class allows for more precise and focused training.”

Hearing this explanation, Chen Yu understood.

”If you have any questions in the future, you can come find me anytime. I live in the teacher’s residential area.”

Tianhai Yoou said as they continued walking.

Chen Yu nodded.

——

Soon, Chen Yu followed Tianhai Yoou to the elite teaching block.

First-Year Elite Class Nine.

As they entered the classroom, two figures came into view: a young man and a young woman.

When he saw the young woman, Chen Yu’s pupils contracted.

An Ran!

’What is she doing here?’

Chen Yu was stunned to see An Ran.

”Huh? Chen Yu, it’s you!”

An Ran was also taken aback when she saw him, but she quickly recovered, her face lighting up with joy.

”I never thought you’d be the new student Master Tianhai mentioned! This is great.”

”You two know each other?”

A look of surprise crossed Tianhai Yoou’s face.

An Ran nodded. ”We do. We worked together last time I was in the Abyssal Realm within the Qing City Safety Zone. He’s very powerful.”

”I see.” Tianhai Yoou’s understanding dawned, and she looked at Chen Yu, a strange light in her bright eyes.

”Student Chen Yu, please have a seat.”

Chen Yu nodded, then walked forward and sat in the empty seat next to An Ran.

”This is wonderful. We can work together from now on.”

An Ran looked at Chen Yu, her face full of excitement.

Chen Yu smiled slightly. ”We’ll help each other out.”

Looking at An Ran, Chen Yu was quite surprised. He knew her abilities were dual B-rank. Normally, only A-rank Awakened could join the elite class. He was rather curious as to how An Ran had become a student in one.

But he didn’t dwell on it and turned his gaze to a young man with a buzz cut sitting nearby.

The young man’s eyes were also on Chen Yu.

Chen Yu smiled and nodded, and the young man with the buzz cut nodded back.

Their eyes met, and an unspoken understanding passed between them.

Standing at the lectern, Tianhai Yoou glanced at the three of them before speaking. ”Let me start with introductions. This is Student Chen Yu, from the Qing City Safety Zone. He is a triple-element Awakened, and his strongest Superpower is an S-rank special element.”

”S-rank!”

The moment Tianhai Yoou spoke, the pupils of An Ran and the buzz-cut young man contracted. They stared at Chen Yu without blinking.

An Ran had already been surprised to see Chen Yu in the elite class, but she never imagined he was an S-rank Superpower user.

S-rank Superpowers were the absolute highest tier.

And it was an S-rank *special* element Superpower on top of that!

That was basically a royal flush!

”You’re such a monster, I never would’ve guessed. Big shot, you’ll have to look out for us from now on,” An Ran said, staring at him intently.

Chen Yu was speechless.

’Why does that sound like an insult?’

At that moment, Tianhai Yoou spoke again. ”Chen Yu, you already know Student An Ran, so I’ll be brief. She is a triple-element Awakened, and her strongest Superpower is an A-rank natural element.”

”Triple-element?!”

’Wasn’t she dual-element?’

Hearing Tianhai Yoou’s words, Chen Yu looked at An Ran in astonishment.

Seeing Chen Yu’s astonished expression, An Ran puffed out her chest. ”Don’t look at me like that. I only just awakened a new Superpower.”

”Newly awakened...”

”You’re a monster in your own right.”

A teleportation, a lightning ability, and now an even stronger A-rank Superpower. For a naturally Awakened person to reach this level... even a cheater like him found it incredible.

From the lectern, Tianhai Yoou spoke again. ”Our last student is Baili Qing, from Misty City. He is a dual A-rank Ability User, with natural and Spiritual Elements.”

”Dual A-rank...”

’They’re all monsters!’

Chen Yu sighed internally as he looked at Baili Qing.

Instructor Wang had said that most students in the elite class had a single A-rank Superpower.

Dual-element Superpower users were rare, let alone dual A-rank ones.

And with natural and Spiritual Elements, no less.

’His potential is off the charts!’

But for a talent coming from a major city, it wasn’t too surprising.

The probability of high-level Awakened appearing in small places was low, but it was a different story for major cities.

”From now on, you are all one unit. You must learn to cooperate with each other, understand?” Tianhai Yoou said.

The three of them nodded.

A smile appeared on Tianhai Yoou’s face. ”Starting today, you have a one-month introductory period. The three of you should use this time to learn to work together. After this month, you’ll be on your own. Your performance will depend on your own efforts. Talent is one thing, but hard work is also very important.”

They nodded.

Tianhai Yoou walked over to Chen Yu and produced a book as if by magic. ”Student Chen Yu, this is the required cultivation method for all Awakened. You can take a look at it first.”

Chen Yu looked at the book. It wasn’t long, just a dozen or so pages, and very thin.

He opened the first page, and the title came into view.

”Celestial Destiny Skill!”

Chen Yu flipped through the pages, finishing the dozen or so pages quickly.

The Celestial Destiny Skill, the mandatory practice for all Awakened.

It was different from the cultivation methods of ordinary Martial Artists.

It included refined methods for cultivating the mind and breath, but beyond that, its main focus was on Superpower cultivation.

Through the Celestial Destiny Skill, an Awakened could perceive the Seed of Superpower within their body.

This so-called Seed of Superpower was the source of one’s abilities.

By using the Celestial Destiny Skill to enhance the Seed of Superpower, one could strengthen their Superpower cultivation.

Besides cultivating Qi and the mind, practicing the Celestial Destiny Skill offered a comprehensive enhancement.

Body, Qi, and mind!

The core of cultivating the Celestial Destiny Skill was the Awakened’s Seed of Superpower—the source of their abilities.

Only Awakened could cultivate the Celestial Destiny Skill. Other Martial Artists, lacking a Seed of Superpower, were unable to practice it.

The cultivation of the Celestial Destiny Skill was inextricably linked to the Seed of Superpower.

’Can I even cultivate this thing?’

Looking at the Celestial Destiny Skill in his hands, Chen Yu began to have his doubts.

Although his Skills could be detected by instruments, whether or not he could cultivate the Celestial Destiny Skill was another question entirely.

After all, he knew very well that his Skills were not the same as the Superpowers other people manifested.

To improve his abilities, all he needed was enough Source of Life.

He didn’t have any Seed of Superpower in his body.

’If I can’t cultivate the Celestial Destiny Skill, will my secret be exposed?’

A giant question mark appeared in Chen Yu’s mind.
