My Talent Skill Mutated

”Little brother, rest assured. Your death won’t be in vain. I will make all the humans on this planet accompany you in death.”

The lizardman muttered to himself, his gaze chilling to the bone.

...

「Jiang City, Longjiang Villa District.」

Number 13!

The brightly lit villa district was now shrouded in the heavy stench of blood.

Bodies lay strewn across the ground, which was stained red with blood.

The entire villa was like a living hell.

”They’re... they’re all dead?!”

Seeing the bodies on the ground, An Ran and the other two were stunned.

There were over a dozen bodies, not one of them left intact.

”Where’s Brother Yu?” An Ran scanned the carnage in the villa district, but couldn’t find any sign of Chen Yu.

Xu Feng snapped out of it and checked the tracking information on his watch again.

”The Mercenary Association Headquarters!”

”Don’t tell me he went to kill the mole?!” Xu Feng’s expression changed.

”So what? He was colluding with the Heterodox Sect. Death’s too good for him. It’s better that he was killed,” An Ran said with a dismissive pout, looking completely unconcerned.

Xu Feng’s face turned grim. ”What do you know? If there’s no evidence and word gets out, Chen Yu will be a target for slander. Even the Mercenary Association might make a move against him.”

”If Chen Yu gets caught in a storm of public opinion, it’ll be very difficult to handle the fallout.”

At his words, the other two’s expressions turned serious.

The Awakened held an Extraordinary status, especially the powerful ones. But if they killed indiscriminately and caused a public outcry, they would still face pressure.

He wouldn’t go to jail; with his talent, the Superpower Academy would certainly intervene. But if he were caught in the eye of the storm, he would definitely face a great deal of public criticism.

”Right now, only we know about this, so it shouldn’t be a big problem. Brother Yu will definitely be fine,” An Ran said after thinking for a moment.

Xu Feng looked at the two of them and said, ”Here’s the plan. You two stay here and search for some evidence. If something unexpected happens, we’ll be able to deal with it.”

”Alright.” An Ran and Baili Qing nodded.

Xu Feng then left, using the tracking information to follow Chen Yu.

...

”Chen... Chen Yu, what... what are you doing? We can talk about this.”

In the room, Captain Wang looked at the young man before him, his face pale.

”In the presence of a god, do you think you can escape?” Chen Yu said calmly.

Captain Wang’s face stiffened. Before he could speak, a sharp pain suddenly shot through his chest.

A long blade pierced his heart, running through his body.

”I gave you a chance. A pity you don’t know how to cherish a god’s gift.”

”You...”

Captain Wang looked at him, wanting to say something, but it was too late. His consciousness faded to black.

VMMMM—!

Chen Yu pulled out the blade, and with a flash, his figure disappeared.

...

”He moved again?” Having just arrived near the Mercenary Association Headquarters and checking the tracker again, Xu Feng was speechless.

’I just got here, and he’s already gone.’

”Huh? He’s back at the hotel.” Looking at the location data, Xu Feng’s eyes lit up. He then headed for the hotel.

—

In the hotel room, Chen Yu lay on the bed. The divine light around his body faded as he closed his eyes and fell into a deep sleep.

The door suddenly opened, and Xu Feng appeared. Seeing Chen Yu on the bed, he breathed a sigh of relief.

After sending a message to An Ran and Baili Qing, Xu Feng stepped forward to take a look.

Just then, the sleeping Chen Yu suddenly opened his eyes, though he looked a bit weak.

”Chen Yu, are you okay?” Seeing Chen Yu’s weak expression, Xu Feng stepped forward, a look of concern on his face.

Chen Yu shook his head slightly. ”I’m fine, just a little tired.”

”...Then get some rest,” Xu Feng said.

Chen Yu nodded and then closed his eyes again.

Watching Chen Yu fall back asleep, Xu Feng stood by the bed and watched him.

’This guy... he’s not going to be unconscious for a few days again, is he?’

’I’ll wait until morning. If he’s not awake, I’ll take him back to Jingzhou to recover.’

After a moment of thought, Xu Feng left the room.

...

Dawn broke, bathing the world in its first light!

For the people of Jiang City, it had been a sleepless night.

The explosion in the wilderness late at night had everyone on edge.

Fortunately, the official statement that it was a missile explosion, not a beast invasion, managed to calm the public.

But for some, the official statement was just a cover story. The truth was known only to a select few.

—

In a daze, Chen Yu opened his eyes.

Looking at his surroundings, it was obvious he was in a hospital room.

’I passed out again...’

Chen Yu sighed to himself.

This time, he still hadn’t managed to resist the side effects of God’s Will.

He had still fallen into a coma after the Skill’s burst of power.

But this time seemed a little better. Chen Yu remembered waking up once, but only for a very short time, as he was too exhausted.

’My vitality is still too low. I need to improve it.’

Chen Yu sighed internally.

He still felt incredibly weak.

But compared to the side effects of God’s Will last time, the improvement this time was obvious.

He hadn’t reached the point of extreme weakness.

Just then, the door to the hospital room opened. Chen Yu turned his head and saw An Ran walk in carrying a bouquet of flowers. Following her was a woman in her late twenties. She wore a silver trench coat, had long, wavy hair, and slender legs. With her gold-rimmed glasses, she had the complete aura of a sophisticated, dominant woman.

”Huh, Brother Yu, you woke up fast this time!”

An Ran came to the bedside, placed the flowers aside, and said with a wide smile.

”How long was I out?”

Chen Yu asked.

An Ran: ”Not long this time. Two days.”

’Two days... Shorter than last time. It seems my body’s Evolution really made a difference,’ Chen Yu noted to himself.

Five days last time, two days this time. The improvement was obvious.

As long as he kept improving, he might be able to nullify this side effect in the future.
