Merging with Demon Spirits

Chapter 738: Chapter 551: Capturing the Flying Dragon Steed

The moment the Flying Dragon Steed appeared, it dazzled everyone.

Among Ninth Grade Demon Beasts, the Flying Dragon Steed’s strength isn’t particularly formidable; even if it’s not the weakest, it’s still considered mid-low tier. This is because it’s a purely Combat Series Demon Beast with no Magic Series damage or long-range attack methods.

Its fighting style is very similar to Ye Xing, with potent close combat abilities but lacking long-range offense.

The Flying Dragon Steed’s innate skill is Star Mist, a Support Soul Skill, which can be considered half a Defense Soul Skill. There are quite a few mounts stronger than it, but its popularity isn’t due to its handsome appearance. It’s mainly because it can transform into Star Mist and attach to a person’s body.

This is equivalent to carrying a bodyguard with you.

”Hiss...”

A slightly anxious neighing sound arose.

As the Ginseng Baby disappeared, the Flying Dragon Steed’s body shattered, reforming into a misty Star Mist.

Its reaction and vigilance were exceedingly high; seeing the Ginseng Baby vanish, it didn’t chase after it and instead chose to retreat stealthily into invisibility without hesitation.

When Lin Feng’s figure appeared before it, the Flying Dragon Steed had already melded into the starry sky, vanishing without a trace.

Even at such a close distance, Lin Feng couldn’t detect the Flying Dragon Steed’s whereabouts.

In an exceptional environment like the Star Sea Spatial Gate, whether it was its hiding ability, reaction speed, or vigilance, the Flying Dragon Steed was virtually perfect, flawless.

If not for the Ginseng Baby’s scent being too enticing, fatally alluring to Demon Beasts, capturing it would be near impossible.

This is probably why Flying Dragon Steeds are so precious and can still survive.

Although the Flying Dragon Steed had disappeared, Lin Feng could still sense its position.

The moment he saw the Flying Dragon Steed, the Lock Soul Skill had already been released in place of the Stand Soul Skill.

The Flying Dragon Steed was quietly retreating and ascending, moving neither fast nor slow, seemingly afraid of causing too much commotion.

”Trying to run?”

Lin Feng looked up at the starry sky, his figure shooting off while a punch was already thrown.

One after another, blue-purple fist shadows roared by, blasting the Flying Dragon Steed out. The Flying Dragon Steed quickly unfurled its wings covered with black scales, slicing towards Lin Feng’s chest like a saber.

In the crisp sound of collision, the tough dragon scales on Lin Feng’s body were cut open, revealing a shocking wound.

Lin Feng could have dodged or used the Illusion Soul Skill, but he neither dodged nor avoided.

He was testing the Flying Dragon Steed’s attack power.

After using ”Fish Dragon Transformation,” even with his Dragon Transformation Defense, he found it difficult to withstand. Indeed, this Flying Dragon Steed had formidable attack power.

Unfortunately, it lacked long-range attack and Magic Series damage methods.

Lin Feng wasn’t too concerned about this.

There’s no such thing as a perfect Demon Beast.

Just being able to carry it along, attaching it to the body, was precious enough.

Moreover, this shortcoming could be compensated for late-period.

Humans can refine Spirit Soldiers; Demon Beasts can as well.

As long as a suitable Spirit Soldier is found for the Flying Dragon Steed, they can also gain long-range attack capabilities.

The strongest attack did not slay the opponent; the Flying Dragon Steed’s body shattered again, transforming into a mass of Star Mist. Knowing it was no match, it attempted to escape, but Lin Feng engaged in close combat, giving it no opportunity to break free.

This was a melee battle, with both man and beast covered in scales on the surface, both adept in physical combat. The Flying Dragon Steed’s fighting mainly relied on wings sharp like broad swords and the horn on its forehead.

As a horse-like Demon Beast, it naturally wasn’t as agile as humans in combat. Whether in speed or power, the Flying Dragon Steed was inferior to Lin Feng and soon was repeatedly beaten back by Lin Feng.

With the sound of thunder booming, Lin Feng appeared ten meters away.

At this moment, the area around the Flying Dragon Steed was covered by one bubble after another.

”Rumble...”

A violent rumbling sound spread, the air trembled, revealing the Flying Dragon Steed’s form. It was now covered in countless wounds, with some areas blackened, looking extremely miserable, losing its previous handsome appearance.

And floating on its back was a ghostly phantom, continually weakening its state.

”Hiss.”

The Flying Dragon Steed let out a mournful cry, falling from the sky, landing heavily on the ground.

”Wah wah wah...”

The Ginseng Baby trembled uncontrollably at the sight of the Flying Dragon Steed’s fall, showing a look of terror. In its view, even such a fearsome behemoth had been so miserably dealt with, wouldn’t it be instantly killed?

No, it would be killed and then eaten.

The Ginseng Baby whispered something to the Duck Egg, who laughed and reassured, ”Don’t worry, you’re not freeloading. You’re working so hard; you definitely won’t get beaten. Besides, I, Duck Egg, have a reputation. Lin Feng has to give me face, so rest assured.”

”Wah wah wah.”

The Ginseng Baby was slightly relieved and quickly said a few flattering words.

At this time, Lin Feng also landed on the ground, watching the trembling and mourning Flying Dragon Steed. He bent down and gently petted its head.

The Flying Dragon Steed’s big, black eyes were filled with fright and hostility.

Lin Feng tried to make the Flying Dragon Steed submit, but there was no effect; the hostility in its eyes did not decrease, but instead grew more intense.

”Submit or die!”

Lin Feng’s gaze turned cold, causing the Flying Dragon Steed to tremble with fear. Its eyes were full of terror as it spat a mouthful of blood and icy thorns burst forth through its body.

Even executing a Soul Skill was too much for the Flying Dragon Steed to withstand.

Seeing the Flying Dragon Steed nearing breathlessness, Lin Feng dared not continue unleashing Soul Skills.

”Duck Egg, you’re up.”

Lin Feng looked at the Duck Egg.

Demon Beasts are inherently wild and hard to tame; it’s not easy to make them submit. This is where Duck Egg’s value comes into play.

Duck Egg flapped its wings, flew onto Lin Feng’s shoulder, and gazed down at the pitiable Flying Dragon Steed.

Duck Egg began an impassioned speech, using itself and the Ginseng Baby as examples.

An elf and a horse communicated for a full ten minutes. Under the threat of death and the temptation of benefits, the hostility in the Flying Dragon Steed’s eyes gradually dissipated, finally submitting. A small black point glowing appeared on top of its head, slowly drifting towards Lin Feng.

Once Lin Feng felt a bond with the Flying Dragon Steed, it shattered into Star Mist, surrounding Lin Feng and finally flowing into his body, disappearing without a trace.

Lin Feng could clearly feel the Flying Dragon Steed’s fear.

It evidently sensed the aura of the Nightmare.

Lin Feng took off his shirt, revealing a tattoo of the Flying Dragon Steed on his chest, resembling hazy Star Mist, even quivering, or more accurately, shivering.

At this moment, the Flying Dragon Steed’s eyes were filled with terror.

If not for its severe injuries and lack of strength, it would have instantly fled this terrifying body.

It simply couldn’t comprehend why Lin Feng’s body harbored such bloody and terrifying energy.

”After all, it’s different from a Demon Spirit,” Lin Feng said.

A Demon Spirit is an ethereal body that can be absorbed into one’s body and reside in the Soul Sea, but the Flying Dragon Steed, having flesh and blood, did not enter Lin Feng’s body. It relied solely on itself for growth and needed to be nurtured by Lin Feng, appearing whenever fed.

Seeing the tattoo on Lin Feng’s chest, Dong Yunan happily exclaimed, ”Success.”

He Jun and Gong Cheng also looked at Lin Feng. With their current strength, they certainly couldn’t defeat the proud Flying Dragon Steed, much less make it submit.

Lin Feng said, ”You should be able to do it yourself. We’ll find out if you try it.”

With a successful example set, the group continued to use the same tactic to capture Flying Dragon Steeds.

Due to the Sha Mi, Hong Yi could not make a pact, so it took about a while for everyone to get their own Flying Dragon Steed, except for Hong Yi and Gong Xiaoxiao.

The reason Hong Yi couldn’t form a contract was because of Sha Mi’s influence. Meanwhile, it was difficult for the proud Flying Dragon Steed to submit to Gong Xiaoxiao, regardless of how hard they tried.

If not for the enticing scent of the Duck Egg, it would have been truly challenging to succeed.

With about a dozen days invested, except for Hong Yi and Gong Xiaoxiao, the group each managed to capture a Flying Dragon Steed using the same method.

Because of Sha Mi’s connection, Hong Yi couldn’t create a contract, and for Gong Xiaoxiao, it was really hard to subdue the proud Flying Dragon Steed.

As more Alien Race experts entered the Star Sea Spatial Gate, they didn’t rush to besiege the Avengers Alliance but had gathered together, quietly waiting for the right moment to strike.
