Merging with Demon Spirits

Chapter 724: Chapter 540: Departure

The post from the Avengers Alliance has stirred heated discussions worldwide, with major news outlets scrambling to report it. In the end, it’s just a minor interlude.

A very minor interlude.

The purpose of Lin Feng’s post was to uplift people’s spirits and divert attention, but it had little impact on the situation.

No Space Gate has been added or removed.

The King Plan is still underway, and the destination remains unchanged.

The only change might be that more students have chosen to give up.

These abandoned spots will not remain vacant; they will be fiercely contested by others.

So, it also doesn’t affect anything.

The time limit to enter the Land of Fallen Gods is one month.

There are thirteen paths to enter the Land of Fallen Gods.

Alien Race is stationed and patrolling at major Space Gates, trying every means possible to stop those who want to enter the Land of Fallen Gods.

And students along with their helpers are entering the Land of Fallen Gods in various ways, with news and forums occasionally reporting who has succeeded or who was intercepted and killed halfway.

.....

These days, Lin Feng spends almost all his time with his family, only occasionally meeting with alliance members.

Ten days have passed since the World Alliance announcement, leaving 20 days before the deadline to enter the Land of Fallen Gods.

After joining the King Plan, it might take a long time, possibly several years, before he can reunite with his family again. Therefore, Lin Feng particularly cherishes this time together.

As usual, the family gets up early, has a simple breakfast, then lounges on the sofa watching TV. When they get tired of watching TV, the mother has already prepared a sumptuous lunch.

After lunch, those glued to their phones continue scrolling, and those playing games continue playing.

No one talks about the King Plan; even when the TV shows related news, the channel is quickly changed.

This routine went on for ten days until Lin Feng announced that he was going to set off.

”Why are you leaving suddenly? So suddenly?”

Lin Fang asked surprised, immediately tears welled up in her eyes.

Lin Kerou shivered slightly, and looked at her brother with equal surprise. She turned away, body shaking slightly, as if trying to suppress her emotions.

Old Ma hesitated, looked at Lin Feng and then at Lin Fang, not knowing what comforting words to say.

”Brother!”

Ma Lele, who was eating snacks, now cried out and rushed into his brother’s arms, holding him tightly, refusing to let go.

The TV continues to play a happy comedy, occasionally bursts of laughter can be heard, but the warmth in the atmosphere has vanished.

”It’s already been agreed with Yun Kai and the others.”

Lin Feng patted his sister’s back, saying to his mother.

”When will you leave?”

Lin Fang turned towards the kitchen, not wanting her son to see her tears.

Nor does she want to pressure Lin Feng in any way.

”Leaving shortly.”

Lin Feng suppressed his emotions, speaking in a calm tone.

The date had already been set, three days ago.

He was reluctant to part ways with his family, cherished this lifestyle, and postponed the departure, unwilling to spoil the atmosphere of togetherness.

Ten days have passed.

It is time to set off.

The atmosphere became quiet and heavy, with only the sound of the TV and the sister’s crying.

Though knowing Lin Feng is leaving and joining the King Plan, when this day arrives, the family still feels anxiety and fear.

These days, they don’t watch news on the King Plan.

But with constant reports from TV stations and news alerts on phones, how could they ignore it?

Who can truly remain unaffected?

In just ten days, 53 individuals have already been killed worldwide, including eight from Hua Country.

This is only the number reported in the news; the real number might be several times higher.

These people are experts who are one step away from being Kings, yet they still died on the road to the Land of Fallen Gods.

The increasing number of deaths inevitably worries the family.

But such worry is useless.

With war approaching, power is the key to survival.

Even though they are deeply concerned and wish strongly for Lin Feng to give up this opportunity, they can’t bear to speak out.

All they can do is not add pressure to Lin Feng.

Lin Fang stayed in the kitchen for a while before coming out with a woven bag. Her eyes were slightly red, but no longer showed signs of crying.

”I made some food, things that won’t spoil easily. Take them for the road.”

”Okay.”

Lin Feng received the bag, not knowing what comforting words to say, nor wanting to say much. The atmosphere of departure makes him want to escape.

”Mom, I’m leaving.”

”Brother is leaving, study well.”

Lin Feng looked down at Ma Lele who was clinging to him; she was still crying, still refusing to let go.

”Be good, listen to mom and dad.”

He gently stroked his sister’s chubby face. Accompanied by the release of Stand Soul Skill, Lin Feng swapped positions with his elder sister and quickly walked out the door.

As he closed the door, suppressed sobbing still echoed in his ears.

Standing still for a while, Lin Feng put on his cap and walked quickly out of the community.

About ten minutes later, he arrived outside a well-decorated restaurant.

To keep a low profile, they didn’t choose to gather at a hotel.

”I’m looking for someone.”

Entering the lively restaurant and seeing the waiter looking puzzled, Lin Feng spoke first.

”Hello sir, do you know the room number?”

The waiter asked courteously.

”I know.”

Lin Feng nodded.

Even though this restaurant wasn’t far from his home, Lin Feng hadn’t been there before, yet he didn’t need the waiter to guide him. Relying on contract sensing, he quickly reached the second floor, standing before a private room door.

As he opened the door, Yun Kai and the group were dining.

”We’ve waited half an hour, started eating first,” Bu Yuanlong said.

”Set a time for five o’clock, you dragged until almost six, that reluctance, did you cry?”

Yu Qiao jested, scrutinizing Lin Feng’s face, seemingly trying to find traces of tears.

”Get lost.”

Lin Feng ignored him and casually chose a seat.

”Zhan Tianyu is still on the way.”

Yun Kai said to Lin Feng.

”No problem, no rush.” Lin Feng nodded.

”All dragging, disrupting my earnings,”

Yu Qiao grumbled dissatisfied.

”Keep babbling, I’ll beat you.”

Yun Tianqi couldn’t tolerate Yu Qiao’s chatter anymore, planning to deal with him.

”Teach him a lesson, ever since absorbing Soul Skills, he’s been floating with pride,”

Ye Qiu said, showing support.

Three days ago, everyone absorbed their Soul Skills, their strength boosted significantly; Yu Qiao who was originally moderate now thoroughly showed off.

”Do him together,”

Ye Xing also added.

Others watched with amusement as Yu Qiao got handled, releasing him after he conceded, amidst playful banter waiting seven to eight minutes, Zhan Tianyu arrived swinging open the door.

”Sorry.”

Zhan Tianyu’s mood was low; he spoke few words and found himself a spot quietly.

”Set off, kill Alien Race, become King!”

Lin Feng stood up, laughing, rushing out the door.

The others soon followed him, expressions varied: some excited, some thrilled, some calm, none fearful.

...

Above the clouds.

Yang Qingtian and Yang Qing sat by the window, quietly gazing at the myriad lights below.

”Did Ning Bing leave?”

”Yes, left after an early dinner.”

Yang Qing responded.

A question and answer, the atmosphere returned to silence.

This time the King Plan is unprecedented, some will become Kings, while others will become remains.

It was just a gathering task, the King Plan hasn’t officially begun, yet a conservative estimate suggests over three hundred individuals were intercepted and killed on their way.

These aren’t three hundred ordinary people, nor three hundred ordinary Martial Artists and Demon Spirit Masters.

They are three hundred Ninth Grade top-level experts!

Even without participating in the King Plan, one-fifth of them could have become Kings.

They joined the King Plan just to shorten the time to become King, and some simply for resources.

But now they are killed.

Dead, everything ends.

”Ah.”

Yang Qingtian sighed.

Resources are limited, the rarer the resources, the more limited.

Can only go to the top of the pyramid.

Yet the King Plan is not really a competition!

It’s a brutal elimination match!

Survival of the fittest.

And the result of elimination often means losing life.

Only those who remain can finally become Kings!

In such an elimination match, do a group of young men and women averaging under 25 years have the possibility of becoming Kings?

Or rather, do they have a possibility of surviving?
