I Love Destroying Worlds' Plot

Chapter 2088: 24.349 Sixth Violet Star - Changes in Pei Jin

As Pei Jin and the Evil Beast God, Lord Ouroboros had commanded, the next beast wave had finally hit the borders. Like the last time, Long Juedi and his elite team is prepared to block and fight against this wave of beast race like before. However, this time the beast wave looks normal. There is no change in the size of these beasts, nor changes in their shape, they look ordinary in their eyes. Well except that within the mixed there are some who seem to be suffering from unknown skin disease making their skin turn a bit whitish as if they had become albinos.

If Long Juedi and the other children didn’t witness what the Lord Prophet had shared to them before, they would have thought that this is an ordinary beast wave. Unfortunately, such a dream is not possible for now. These beasts are special ones which are very hard to kill.

At the walls, Long Juedi and the others were looking through the incoming beast wave and found the ones they were looking out for.

Long Juedi turned serious as he put down the binocular in his hand.

Haerin asked, ”How is it? How many are there in the beast wave?”

”A dozen. There are a dozen with whitish fur and skin. Our team is barely enough,” said Long Juedi.

The seriousness of the situation was something no one can easily ignore. Trolls are monsters with high regeneration capabilities. Not only this, they also have a berserk state which is not different to humans who had merged with their beast to amplify their strength. It would have a much powerful effect when a beast went berserk as unlike humans, they would just move instinctively and not through rational thoughts. Which makes them harder to fight.

Nangong Rui said, ”A dozen is better than a hundred or more.”

”This is true. A’Rui and I can slow them down. I hope the executioners move faster than you can. Slowing them down is the best we can do. This would only work on a beast below King grade. Against king grade beasts we can barely hold on to them,” said Xue Laira.

Xue Laira and Nangong Rui were the ones leading the Elemental Summoner team. They can be considered the mage output of the team. However, like how elementals have grades, the beast race also had hierarchy. They believe that the strong is the one who leads, that’s why the beast race listens to the Evil Beast God and his summoner, Pei Jin.

Long Juedi nodded his head and said, ”That is enough. As long as you slow them down we can handle the rest. A’Jiang, Wanyi, Heiyi, Princess Shika you will move with your group. Kill your target as soon as possible!”

”Yes, Leader!” The four main combatants responded.

Their job is the heaviest as they needed not only strength but also speed. This is to prevent regeneration. So if they are going to attack. They must go for a kill while going against time. As for the disposing of the corpses, it will also be handled by the group under Xue Laira and Nangong Rui’s command. Together with them are the elf royalties, Elf Prince Heva and Elf Princess Hevana.

Long Teng shouted, ”They are here! Brother!”

”Everyone move out! Leave the ordinary beasts to others. Focus only on your target!” said Long Juedi.

When the gates of the borders were first opened the first one to jump out were the two commanders, Beast God Mo Minkong and his mate, Lord Huzi who is also the leader of the Beastmen Race.

Beast God Mo Minkong commanded, ”Get in formation! Get ready! Go!!”

Creaks~

This is the sound of the huge gates opening and the wave of soldiers coming out to fight against the beast waves. Of course, they were warned and avoided fighting against the beast with strange beast fur and skin color. The most specified feature that was mentioned is the paleness of their skin color. This skin color is actually the side effect from the potion Pei Jin had made these beast drinks. It was thanks to this potion, that some beast had gained some ability of the trolls, especially their fast regeneration speed.

While fighting the beast, Long Juedi, Haerin and the other two commanders noticed that there was something strange about this beast wave. Unlike before, the beast race this time were moving on their own and were only following the initial order to attack but nothing more than that. Without a commander, the beast race’s capabilities during the war clash had lowered a lot making it easier for those who were leading on the other side, to feel that this wave of beast was easier to resolve than the last one.

Even though the beasts followed their instinct to fight against the other races who used intelligence to control the war itself, it made the Beast race a bit weaker without a leader. Long Juedi couldn’t understand why Pei Jin is not commanding the beast himself this time. Moreover, when he looked for him, he saw him standing beside the Evil Beast God in the air just watching the whole clash with indifferent gaze.

Without the command from the other side, some beasts didn’t even think about what to do and could only follow their instinct to attack their enemies without being on guard. It was thanks to this carelessness that the leaders of the borders had an easier time defeating their opponents. There are still losses due to the large number of beasts from the side of the borders. Death is also unavoidable this time. After all, the population of those in the borders can never be compared to the beast race whose number is only second the original population of the human race before the fall of the alliance.

When the second beast wave ended, Long Juedi and Pei Jin’s eyes met. But unlike the usual where Pei Jin would lose control over his temper, this tim he only stared at Long Juedi within indifferent gaze. It also didn’t take long before the two left quietly. This beast wave ended up with the borders winning again.

Watching the figure of Pei Jin’s back getting smaller from the distance, Long Juedi felt that something is wrong with the villain and felt that something might have gone wrong. He knows too well how bad Pei Jin’s temper is, especially towards those he hates. Seeing this calm and indifferent Pei Jin made Long Juedi feel creepy.

Haerin said, ”Gege, there is something wrong with Pei Jin. How can he suddenly not start a fight with you when he had the chance?”

”... I didn’t feel the usual hatred coming from him. Something must have gone wrong from the other side.” Long Juedi said as face turned gloomy.

But looking at the survivors around him, the estimation of death and injuries this time was lowered than they had expected. He and Beast God Mo Minkong estimated that this wave would cause more deaths than before and more injured people which would lead to the weakening of the overall power to contend against the beast race. At least, the result this time is more acceptable than their estimation.

Once the battlefield had been cleaned up, everyone had once again retreated behind the wall. The result of today’s beast wave had finally allowed those who were nervous all this time to calm down. When the night had fallen, Long Juedi was summoned by the commanders. He went alone as Haerin had fallen asleep as soon as she hit the bed.

In the commander’s office...

The two commanders, Lord Mo Minkong and Lord Huzi had called for Long Juedi. They also noticed the sudden changes during the beast wave this morning.

The Beast God, Mo Minkong asked, ”Xiao Jue, have you felt anything strange in this last beast wave? You can tell me whatever you noticed.”

”Yes. This beast wave didn’t have a commander making the movement of the beast hazardous. Since they are only moving my instinct, they didn’t immediately activate their berserk state. It was only when we cornered the beast race that they understood that they needed to use their berserk state. However, it’s too late, as my team moves faster and stops them from going berserk.” Long Juedi explained.

Lord Huzi commented, ”No wonder, the beast race’s movements are a lot slower than before. However, isn’t Pei Jin and that Evil Beast God there? Did they just watch the war without getting involved?”

”I’ve been watching Pei Jin the whole time, he didn’t give any command and the Evil Beast God only says, ”Go!” said Long Juedi.

The beast god seems to have noticed that as well and was delighted that this young man in front of him was capable of keeping things in order even when fighting. He helped his teammates and at the same time prevented the enemy from winning. However, that silent figure of Pei Jin before he left was something Long Juedi can hardly forget. After all, that man was the one who never held back his temper.
