I Love Destroying Worlds' Plot

Chapter 1657 22.43 Third Red Star - Abdication

With the press conference ending and the military leaving, the reporters, who were stunned at the last moment, finally remembered to follow up. They actually had a lot of questions, and most of these questions had something to do with the mermaid king. However, the one they wanted to ask had already left.

”General! Lord Hei! Please wait!”

”We still have some questions to ask!

”Please give us some more of your time.”

”Sirs! We are sorry!”

Unfortunately, the two no longer turn their heads to listen and choose to leave. Some reporters were also waiting outside the venue, and before the general and the mermaid king no longer cared about them. However, before they entered the car, the mermaid king peeked his head out of the breast pocket.

Hei Anjing looked at the media surrounding them and turned to his human form before all humans. Like all other people, they couldnʼt help but be stunned by his beauty. Moreover, what shocked them was that instead of a huge pair of fishtails, he was standing on two legs. They couldnʼt help but stare up and down. They couldnʼt believe what they were seeing.

The mermaid king spoke, ”Is it your first time seeing a mermaid with a pair of feet? Well, let the jokes aside, I actually found your reaction to my identity offensive. Thatʼs why I made a decision. Starting today, all little mermaids are to be taken back under my decree. I will pick them up right now and will no longer get involved with the human race problems.”

After saying his piece, he went ahead and got inside the car. Afterward, the general also spoke once his wife got inside. He removed his badge from his uniform, and all the other soldiers that were with him had made the same move.

”As of today, I am stepping down from my position as the federationʼs general. Black Dragon Troops will also abdicate together with me, and the headquarters shall be returned to the nation. I will only side with my wife. Good luck to you all,” said the former General Ye, who took down his badge and let it fall to the ground. The colonel beside him and the rest of the soldiers also did the same before taking their leave.

After all the accusations that were made against his wife during the press conference, the general lost his will to protect these civilians he used to protect with his life. He chooses his wife over the human race, and all of his subordinates follow after his will. After all, it can be said that most families of the Black Dragon troops live in the territory of the general. Where the general stays is where they all live.

The reporters were all stunned by the sudden abdication of the strongest man in the Federation. His abdication was done on live streaming of all the media that gathered around them just now. Thatʼs why this news spreads faster than fire. It didnʼt take long for the royal clan to learn about this too. In the throne hall, the current king, His Majesty Nokto, had also gathered all the ministers. Royal Knight Lang, His Majesty Nokto, and Royal Knight Xion were watching the live news and saw what the general had done.

His Majesty Nokto commented, ”I told you he will abdicate. Who told them to call Jingjing a monster!? How stupid.”

”If itʼs like this, then they will most likely gather at the generalʼs territory. What should we do next?” asked Royal Knight Wolfred.

Royal Knight Xion said, ”It is also time for us to leave.”

Sigh~

”Alright. We should also prepare to leave,” said his majesty Nokto.

The conversation between the two wasnʼt intentionally hidden from the nobles waiting for them to speak. They just stood quietly in the hall with various emotions flashing within their eyes. Some of them believe this is a huge chance to soar, while the others worry for the Federation itself. With the general backing away from his original position, he is no longer the guardian of the human race. Almost everyone in the Federation didnʼt know what to do next.

His Majesty Nokto spoke, ”Thank you all for coming. There is something I need to announce right now. I plan to abdicate and give the throne to my second brother. After I step down, the royal family will be changed to Siegfred. As for the rest that must be done after I leave, it will be all on you.”

Unfortunately, it seems that the second prince no longer wanted to have anything to do with the throne and immediately pleaded with his brother to let him go.

The second prince said, ”Your Majesty, please take back your words. I have no interest in sitting on the throne. I beg you to please choose someone else. This humble one just wants to leave quietly with my sister and brother-in-law.”

”Are you sure? This is the throne we are talking about,” asked His Majesty Nokto.

The second prince said, ”Brother, all I want right now is just a normal life and a normal family. But even this... I donʼt think I can have it in this life.” He knew the side effects of the medicine his mother had given him; almost no one can cure it. He can only become a human with no emotions.

His Majesty Nokto said, ”Donʼt worry about it. Since you declined, I can only go for a vote of who will sit on the throne. Let it be a democratic one, and I shall pass a royal decree for it. Since you have declined the crown, Rion, after I abdicate, the royal family will no longer be the same as before. You and your sister will lose all credentials as a royal one.”

”I understand. I will inform my sister about it,” said second prince Rion.

A noble step forward and asked the king, ”Your Majesty, why do you plan to abdicate at this time? Do you not care about the Federation at all?”

”I know where you are getting at. However, I only sat on this throne because my royal father gave it to me. However, it wasnʼt something I wanted, and with the current situation between the land and the water, I, who is a close friend of the Mermaid King, couldnʼt lead the people who disdain him. He is our savior and like an elder brother to me. Itʼs hard to accept that he will be called a monster just because his race is different from us,” His Majesty Nokto said.

The noble clans were all out of words. In reality, they couldnʼt deny that they feel fear towards the mermaid king, as well as how they couldnʼt accept a sea monster who is synonymous with an enemy in their minds to be Madam Ye. Now their hatred from the sea monster had not only pushed away the only guardian of their race but also the king who governs over them. It was already too late to apologize, as the mermaid king chose not to get involved with the human race any longer except for the general and his people.

His Majesty Nokto said, ”Good work. After I leave, you are the people who will be supporting the Federation after we are gone.”

—

After the press conference from the general, the military issued that the Black Dragon Troops, including the former general, Ye Xiajie, had indeed left their faction and a new leader of the military would be chosen among the rest of the troops within the military. The Black Dragon troop all left the military, and this brigade no longer exists.

The declaration of the Mermaid King, Hei Anjing, was the most mysterious of all. It can be said that all the little mermaids in each household had suddenly disappeared one day. There are lots of complaints towards the mermaid king, and those who tried to cause chaos in the mansion of the general suffered terribly.

However, others noticed that those families who treated their little mermaids as real family members had no complaints at all. They lost their little mermaids, but each of these households had gained an extra family member, and these peopleʼs identities were immediately added to the familyʼs house register even before the media investigated it. There is only one feature that these mysterious people have in common. They are all gorgeous, and they can use healing abilities.

The media tried to interview these people, but their families are all protective of them. All reporters were rejected, and those who made secret moves were beaten up. After all, some of these families are among the wealthiest in the federation.

But what shook the Federation the most was the abdication of the current king, Nokto. The reason for his abdication was that he felt he was inexperienced to lead the nation as a young king. He also believes that the ruling head of the federation must be chosen by people and not because of someoneʼs bloodline.

However, there are rumors that the real reason why the king had left the throne was because of the treatment of the people towards the mermaid king. They say that the mermaid king and the former king were like brothers, and when the people of the federation offended him, angered the king so much that he didnʼt want to leave this place that condemned his brother and friend.

But things didnʼt end at all; just a few weeks after the first tsunami hit the land, mysterious incidents were happening in the main city. A clan was killed mysteriously, and the whole crime scene had a strong scent of rot and death. Moreover, what is terrifying is that each murder was said to be a member of the destroyed clan, and these are cases of homicide.
