From MC’s Perspective:

“Manager Lara, why would he help me?” I asked her.

“I have told you before. He must have recognized you already. Lord Charlotte said there is no problem in interacting with this person,” she added in a firm tone.

“In that case, I’m going to meet him right away,” I replied.

“Okay, if you need something, you can call me,” Lara said.

Then I nodded to her before leaving. Lara watched me leave.

“I guess it’s time to think about the bet again,” she thought.

Last time, she made good money. From observing Vincent Carey so far. She could tell he was confident from the beginning. He was never afraid.

But right now he was showing caution. So that no unknown variable would arise.

Meanwhile,

I left the silver tower and came to the main street wearing a mask. To my surprise, there was already a flying taxi cab waiting for customers.

Seeing that, I quickly went up to the cab driver and told him about the destination. The cab driver was a middle-aged man.

He nodded casually before sitting in the driver’s seat. Then I opened the door to sit in the back seat.

Buzz!

The driver started the car. The car slowly hovered above the ground. Then the driver began driving towards the destination.

But not long after, I found out the driver was going in the wrong direction. I looked through the window to confirm.

At this point, I could recognize some of the buildings. This was not the way to the central plaza.

“System, check whether the wizard is hostile or not,” I asked the system in my mind.

[Ding! Unable to verify.]

[The target is showing calmness and focus.]

The mechanical voice sounded in my mind. I furrowed my eyebrows. It was the first time I faced a situation where the powerful system was unable to help.

At the end of the day, it’s just a system. There is a limit to its functions. But my wizard instinct was alarming me of some impending danger.

Then I thought of another system function before asking the system to probe the wizard’s details of the driver.

The next second, the driver’s magic details appeared on the status panel. My gaze deepened in the end. I dismissed the status panel and looked at the driver.

The driver was not a real driver but a slave of someone. He was taking orders from someone. No wonder the system was unable to find the emotional fluctuations.

He was like a living puppet. My mind sprang into action. I had this feeling that if I tried to act now, it wouldn’t end well for me.

What if the puppet exploded? I would be forced to use the Gregor Mansion. If I’m not wrong, then someone must be keeping an eye on the cab. What to do?

After pushing down the thoughts, I looked at the outside scenes through the window. My expression darkened. The driver was leaving the Magic City.

“Who is it?” I asked myself.

I had already accepted the challenge. It should not be the Doyle Family. The Black Tower wouldn’t be either.

Since everyone was looking forward to the duel, why would they target me before the duel?

Then I thought of the Meteor Supreme. I shook my head again. I had already completed the task for Lord Erwin. He didn’t seem to hold hostile intentions as well.

That old man wouldn’t be stupid enough to offend Lord Charlotte. Then who else? I didn’t have enemies apart from these two.

Even arrogant wizard seeds had a change in attitude. Suddenly, a scene appeared in my mind as I tried to recall.

It was the time when I walked out of the Magic Area after defeating Tom Doyle. At that time, an unknown wizard stared at me.

His eyes were filled with murderous intentions. He wanted to harm my mind at that time when Lord Charlotte appeared. She revealed his identity.

“Forbidden Wizard Remi,” I uttered.

Boom!

The next second, a sense of crisis covered my heart.

[Ding! Warning]

[Host is advised to use Gregor Mansion to hide.]

I immediately used the Gregor Mansion to hide.

Boom!

The next second, the driver along with the flying cab exploded in the middle of the city.

The deafening noise sounded loud.

Honk!

The next second, the nearby flying vehicles stopped in their mid-air lanes. Everyone saw the huge fireball in the air.

Then the nearby authorities quickly came to investigate. With a water spell, the fire was taken care of.

They found evidence of one death from the ashes. But it was difficult for them to find the identity.

Not far away from the place, a black-clothed figure was watching everything. He was none other than Wizard Remi of the Black Tower.

Seeing that there was no sign of new wizard seed Vincent Carey coming out, he left the spot.

Meanwhile,

Inside the Gregor Mansion, I was watching the outside scenes on the control mirror.

“Forbidden Wizard Remi,” I said in a cold tone.

It was good that I figured out the name before it was too late. The border was closer to this place.

If I had stayed silent and exited the Magic City, then there was a possibility of encountering Forbidden Wizard Remi there.

He had already done this before. He was not afraid of bullying. But I was confused about something else.

I had thought my enemy was Tom Doyle. Now it was the Doyle Family. But why did Forbidden Wizard Remi want to get rid of me that badly?

Then something struck my mind, which instantly solved my puzzle.

“It was not Tom Doyle or the Doyle Family. Even before that, I felt someone was observing from the dark.”

“It’s just that Forbidden Wizard Remi showed himself after that duel. If I’m not wrong, he is the one who had been observing in secret from the beginning,” I said to myself.

Apart from the ongoing problems, I had an unknown enemy in the dark. I had no clue about it.

It seemed like my confrontation with Forbidden Wizard Remi was going to be unavoidable in the future.
