From MC’s Perspective:

“Vincent Carey, I’m seeing you for the first time. Thanks for accepting the invitation and coming here,” Wilfred Cox uttered while walking up to me.

Hearing that, my eyes gleamed with a twinkle.

“I’m a newcomer. It’s necessary for me to get to know others,” I replied with a smile.

Wilfred Cox’s smile disappeared. He looked at Jason Nicholson before looking back at me.

“Come with me!”

“I have invited everyone. Let me introduce you to them.” After saying that, Wilfred Cox led me to introduce me to the people.

Most of them came from his circle. They were his family and business friends. While smiling and speaking to the wizards, I didn’t forget to keep an eye on Jason Nicholson.

Jason Nicholson seemed to be about to explode at any time. His anger was visible on his face. I’m sure he was the one who was going to cause trouble.

After meeting a few people, I met the last person. She was a female wizard.

“This is Susan Park, the wizard seed of our silver tower. You must have heard of her. She was like me; she had tried to see you in person,” Wilfred said.

Hearing that, my expression turned serious. If I’m right, she is the one with radioactive element magic. She wears gloves all the time.

My gaze fell on her gloves.

Susan Park smiled upon seeing the newcomer’s reaction.

“It’s nice to see your face at last. I thought Manager Lara wouldn’t let you leave alone,” Susan said in a sarcastic tone.

“I was busy getting familiar with the new place. Now, I have time to explore,” I replied to her.

“Good, I heard you have defeated Jason Nicholson and made him bedridden for a couple of days,” Susan Park uttered with a cunning smile on her face.

Her voice was not loud, but it reached the ears of everyone.

Quiet!

The next second, there was a pin-drop silence. Everyone stopped talking. The place became quiet, and everyone’s gaze fell on Jason Nicholson.

Crush!

Jason Nicholson crushed the wine glass in his hand. He could hear the words of Susan Park. He knew she would drag his name into this.

Both she and Wilfred Cox were cunning people with backgrounds. But he had come despite knowing that.

His gaze then fell on Vincent Carey. His eyes flashed with murderous intent. Their family butler had died because of him.

If not for his family not wanting to offend the Forbidden Wizard Lord Charlotte, they would have killed Vincent Carey multiple times.

Jason Nicholson walked up to Vincent Carey and looked into his eyes. Seeing that, Susan Park’s smile widened. She had come to watch the entertainment.

Now that the newcomer had arrived as well, how could she miss such an opportunity?

Wilfred Cox laughed in his heart as well. He was going to witness the true strength of the newcomer.

At the same time, the other guests’ eyes were on these two. They quickly took their digital devices out and started taking pictures.

They were about to witness the duel between Vincent Carey and Jason Nicholson.

“Vincent Carey, I’m challenging you. Let’s have the duel,” Jason Nicholson said.

Gasp!

Hearing that, everyone exclaimed in surprise.

Wilfred Cox smiled, but he didn’t intend to stop them from fighting.

Susan Park took a sip of wine after hearing Jason Nicholson’s words. She was going to enjoy the show.

On the other hand, I could hear the exclamations and whispers of everyone around me. To be honest, I was expecting something to happen.

“Wizard Seed Jason Nicholson!”

“You are misunderstanding something. I came here to attend the banquet, not to fight.” After saying that, I turned around and went to the table to get a glass of wine.

Gasp!

People were again surprised by the sudden turnaround.

They didn’t expect the newcomer to be such a coward. He rejected the duel proposal. Instantly, the good impression they had of Vincent Carey dropped to the bottom.

Jason Nicholson was left speechless. He too was taken aback by the rejection.

Wilfred Cox’s eyes narrowed. His expression became serious. Things were taking a different turn again. If he didn’t do anything, his plan could fail.

He was about to say something, but Susan Park stood up and walked up to the newcomer.

“Vincent Carey, I thought you were brave. But despite being a member of the Silver Tower, you have rejected the duel proposal.”

“It doesn’t look good on you. It also damages the reputation of our silver tower,” Susan Park said in a cold tone.

Hearing that, I gently picked up the wine glass. But I sneered inwardly. These guys were doing everything to trap me. I’m not going to agree.

“Miss Susan, it’s up to me to decide whether to fight or not. Besides, this is not a duel platform,” I replied without looking at her.

Boom!

A wave of mana pressure erupted from her body. The nearby desks and tables broke under the pressure. The faces of the guests filled with fear.

They knew about Susan Park. Her magic could kill everyone here. Her magic ignores the magic level and can hurt anyone.

The guests recoiled in fear. A few of them took the chance to leave the place. The drama was fun, but they didn’t want to risk their lives.

[Ding! Three hostile intentions were detected.]

The mechanical voice sounded in my mind. I knew who those three were. They were the three wizard seeds here.

Seeing that, she continued to release her pressure.

A hint of displeasure flashed in my eyes.

“What are you trying to do?” I asked her.

Susan raised her eyebrows in surprise. She didn’t expect the newcomer to withstand her pressure. It showed that the newcomer was strong.

She understood that Jason Nicholson was really defeated by the newcomer.

On the other hand, Jason Nicholson’s eyes reddened with anger. His heart wanted to beat the newcomer right here. But for that, he needed to get a green signal from Wilfred Cox and Susan Park.

Boom!

Without alerting anyone, Wilfred Cox cast his magic spell. The colors in his eyes changed. Everyone within a certain range were dragged into an illusion.

Including Susan Park and Jason Nicholson.

[Ding! Illusion magic was detected.]

[Ding! The host is being protected from the illusion magic.]

Hearing that, my eyes narrowed. My heart was set off in storms. Who dares to cast magic here? I turned around and saw everyone was frozen in place.

Jason Nicholson and Susan Park were standing frozen as well. I was terrified. Then I turned towards Wilfred Cox, who was looking at me.

His eyes were filled with magical patterns. I immediately knew what had happened.

Everyone was trapped under the magic spell. I had escaped because of the system.

Wilfred Cox was left speechless. He was trying to increase the power of the spell. Even powerful Jason Nicholson and Susan Park were trapped, but only one person was not affected.

The person who was none other than the newcomer whom he had underestimated.

“How is this possible?” Wilfred Cox thought.

Then he thought of something. His expression changed drastically.

“It must be a magic artifact,” Wilfred said in his heart. He thought Manager Lara must have given him some trump card.

“Break,” Wilfred Cox uttered with anger.

The next second, the illusion world broke, and everyone’s mind returned to reality.

Susan Park and Jason Nicholson instantly understood what had happened.

“Wilfred, you dare!”

Susan Park yelled at him. She was about to remove her gloves to cast a magic spell.

“I’m sorry!”

“I wanted to test the strength of the newcomer. He seems to be carrying a magic artifact with him,” Wilfred Cox replied in a calm tone.

Hearing that, Susan relaxed her eyebrows. Even if she wanted to fight someone, she needed to get permission from the higher-ups.

Wilfred Cox was aware of this weakness, so he took advantage of it.

“Harumph,” she snorted in displeasure.

Wilfred Cox revealed a helpless smile on his face. He knew Susan Park couldn’t attack without permission. But when he looked at Jason Nicholson, he revealed a sly smile on his face.

Jason Nicholson’s heart was boiling with anger. He hated his helplessness. More than the newcomer, he wanted to beat the sh!t out of Wilfred Cox right now.

On the other hand, I was watching the conversation between these three with a smile on my face. I didn’t expect Wilfred Cox to be daring enough to cast a magic spell here.

But he mistook that I was carrying a magic artifact with me. His answer also gave me a valid reason to hide the power of the system.

On the other hand, the guests had almost left the party. Only a few of them were left. They were friends of Wilfred Cox. They wouldn’t leave without informing him.

Wilfred Cox then turned towards Vincent Carey. His expression was ugly. He didn’t expect the newcomer to carry a trump card. It had spoiled his plan.

Not only had he failed to defeat the newcomer, but he also lost face as well.
