Gravity Mage with Level-Up System

From MC’s Perspective:

Ignoring the loud cheers, I walked up to the platform and entered inside. The platform was wide and large. One could even run around freely. But I didn’t think that would be necessary.

I had already decided to end the duel in one move. So I closed my eyes and started waiting for him to appear.

Meanwhile,

Wilfred Cox was in the audience area with friends. Looking at the newcomer entering the platform, he sneered internally. He wanted to see how the newcomer would lose face in front of everyone.

His friends were watching him with mocking expressions as well.

“Hey, brother. Who are you cheering for?” one of his friends asked.

Hearing that, Wilfred Cox’s eyes flickered. Instead of answering, he looked at the glass viewing box. Before coming here, he had spotted Forbidden Wizard Charlotte entering the place.

This confirmed that the newcomer had a backer. But even Forbidden Wizard Charlotte couldn’t intervene in the duel; she could almost save his life.

“Don’t ask anything. Just pay attention,” Wilfred Cox warned his friends. He knew the walls had ears, especially in a place where people around them could hear their conversation.

From time to time, Wilfred Cox received gazes from the wizards because people had recognized him as well. So he could only remain silent.

On the other hand, the Nicholson family’s Head and his son were in the viewing area as well. Rick Nicholson, as the Family Head, was seated with other Family Heads.

Whereas Jason Nicholson was seated with his family wizards. If he wanted, he could have joined Wilfred Cox and Susan Park. But he didn’t do that; he knew that if he did, he would become an object of entertainment for them.

He knew that somewhere in the audience viewing area, Susan Park was watching with her friends. When it came to the duel, Jason had no suspicions at all. He and his father had already placed their bet on Tom Doyle.

As long as Tom Doyle won the duel, they would receive double the amount.

Meanwhile,

Forbidden Charlotte was with Manager Lara and Susan Park. Surprisingly, she had been summoned by Forbidden Wizard Charlotte, so she had to come here, leaving her friends.

“Did you place the bet?” Charlotte asked.

“Yes, I did,” Lara replied.

“Good, let’s see what the kid can do. If he defeats Tom Doyle, then he’s going to face more challenges,” Charlotte said.

Manager Lara nodded her head, whereas Susan Park was stunned. She hadn’t expected Lord Charlotte to have high expectations of the newcomer.

“Was he that strong?” Susan asked herself in her heart.

She then shook her head. Now, it was time for the duel. She could see the result for herself.

On the other hand, the Meteor Supreme, Filip, had taken a seat in the viewing area as well. He came here alone but had seen the other two wizard seeds as well.

Like others, he had also placed a bet on Tom Doyle. He was confident that he was going to make huge money. He was just waiting for the duel to happen.

Meanwhile,

Quite a few wizard seeds from the Red Tower, Black Tower, and other magic towers had arrived as well. But they were quite hidden. They didn’t announce their arrival; they were very well disguised.

From the Black Tower side, not only a few supporters had arrived, but one of their forbidden wizards had come to watch the duel. He was the one who targeted Vincent Carey.

If not for Vincent Carey agreeing to the duel, he would have killed him on the spot.

Time passed.

On the duel platform, I opened my eyes. It had been a few minutes since I entered the platform, but there was no sign of Tom Doyle.

A hint of displeasure flashed in my eyes.

“What’s with these guys?” I muttered.

Cheers!

Not long after, a huge commotion occurred. Everyone started to chant the name of Tom Doyle.

Hearing that, I looked ahead and saw Tom Doyle. He was taking a slow walk toward the platform, enjoying the cheers and chanting of the people.

“To think the Evil Wizard is getting such a reception. It only happens in the Magic City,” I thought.

He then walked up to the platform and entered inside. We both then stared at each other.

“Vincent Carey, you acted foolishly by accepting the duel. You have no idea what’s going to happen,” Tom Doyle said with a smile.

Hearing that, I said nothing. If not for those heart palpitations, I wouldn’t have accepted the duel. But I didn’t regret it.

Boom!

The next second, the barrier started to envelop the whole duel platform.

Seeing that, I became serious. Tom Doyle had stopped talking as well.

[Respected Wizards! Welcome to the Magic Arena duel.]

[Today, the duel is going to be special.]

[It’s the duel between the Silver Tower Wizard Seed and the Black Tower Wizard Seed.]

[Vincent Carey vs. Tom Doyle.]

A male voice reached everyone’s ears. Hearing that, I immediately thought of Manager Garrett.

Cheers!

The whole crowd erupted in cheers. The sound was deafening. If not for the barrier’s protection, it would have affected the participants.

“Vincent Carey, ready to die!”

Tom Doyle shouted.

“Start the duel!” Manager Garrett’s voice sounded again.

Tom Doyle grinned before casting the magic spell.

Hearing that, I raised my hand and cast the 5th stage of the magic spell.

“Gravity Field!”

A powerful gravitational force appeared on the platform. The range covered the entire platform. When the five-fold gravitational pressure appeared—

Boom!

Tom Doyle took the full brunt. His magic casting was interrupted, and his body flattened on the ground under the gravitational force.

His face filled with horror and disbelief; he had never seen such fast casting before. Tom Doyle regretted it, but it was too late. His bones were cracking under the pressure.

If he didn’t do anything, his mana core would be crushed. When the realization dawned on him, his expression changed drastically, and fear filled his heart.
