God's Imitator

Li Renshu wasn’t too surprised, as this number was within her expectations.

From Wang Yongxin’s perspective, this was indeed the best choice.

So far, Wang Yongxin had earned close to 400,000 minutes of visa time from games.

Of course, one had to consider deducting community welfare, various daily miscellaneous expenses, and the portion naturally consumed over time but even so, he still had over 300,000.

Although this fund was called a luxury goods consumption fund, Wang Yongxin’s current behavior wasn’t consumption, but investment.

For a businessman, investment was absolutely not something to skimp on.

Although Wang Yongxin was the first to propose this scheme, if he only donated 50,000 while others chipped in 20,000 or 30,000 each, then most of the favor would actually fall to Li Renshu.

After all, Li Renshu was the one who actually drafted and promoted this proposal.

So Wang Yongxin had to be the first to donate, and he had to donate a number that would shock everyone in order to achieve the desired effect.

When it came to buying people’s hearts with money, you either didn’t do it, or you went all out.Being stingy and calculating at times like this would be worse than not donating at all.

If Wang Yongxin only donated around 50,000, it wouldn’t have any shocking effect at all.

After all, everyone had earned quite a bit in the last game.

As for numbers like 60,000, 70,000, or 90,000, they were ultimately still single digits, so why not just add a bit more to make it 100,000?

Two digits compared to one digit created far more shock.

From everyone’s reaction, his lavish spending had indeed achieved its purpose.

If Li Renshu’s small circle couldn’t collectively match 100,000, then the balance of power would inevitably undergo some subtle changes.

Li Renshu thought about it, ”I’ll donate 20,000, as a token of my appreciation.”

Cao Haichuan also said quite generously, ”I’ll also donate 20,000, but I have one request. When you use this fund, can you include my cigarettes?”

Cai Zhiyuan didn’t think much about it, ”I’ll donate 50,000.”

Fu Chen looked at them in shock, ”Wait, what happened to ’donate what you can afford’? How did everyone start competing? Then I’ll donate 30,000!”

Cai Zhiyuan looked at him, ”’Donate what you can afford’ was said for you.”

Fu Chen was somewhat helpless, ”I was planning to donate this much anyway!”

Obviously, these four people’s donations basically reached their individual upper limits, but their reasons were different.

The donations from Li Renshu, Cao Haichuan, and Cai Zhiyuan were more like managers’ self-awareness. Since they held most of the power in this community currently, they had to take on more obligations.

At times like this, even if it hurt, they had to grit their teeth and donate.

Fu Chen was different. He didn’t have this clear awareness, he was purely contributing out of dedication.

Lin Sizhi then said, ”Since Boss Wang donated 100,000, I’ll donate 90,000.”

Everyone again voiced shock and cheers.

Wang Yongxin nodded to Lin Sizhi with some gratitude.

He also observed Lin Sizhi’s expression slightly, seemingly trying to determine whether this donation was Lin Sizhi’s own idea or came from hints and instructions from the other four but Lin Sizhi had no expression, so nothing could be discerned.

Wang Yongxin was very clear that Lin Sizhi could have also donated 100,000. Having donated 90,000, donating one more 10,000 wouldn’t be a problem.

But Lin Sizhi still deliberately only donated 90,000, which was actually ”a gentleman doesn’t steal another’s glory,” deliberately leaving the only two-digit amount and the title of ”highest donor” to Wang Yongxin.

Regardless, such enthusiastic donations did indeed allow this luxury goods fund to accumulate an incredible fortune in a very short time.

It even made many people question their lives: wasn’t this a bit too spendthrift?

But thinking that they could freeload from this fund without paying, they felt it was really a good proposal.

Yang Yuting had been considering for a while and said, ”I’ll also donate 10,000, though this 10,000 should actually be credited to Brother Wang, since this was what he helped me win in ’Conglomerate Nation.’”

Qin Yao said weakly, ”Then I’ll also...”

But before she could finish, many people stopped her.

”Alright, alright! ’Donate what you can afford’ is mainly for people like you!”

”Right, you should keep your visa time and spend it slowly yourself.”

Everyone repeatedly emphasized that the weak should never donate their precious little visa time to this luxury goods fund.

Wang Yongxin and Lin Sizhi donated a lot because they earned a lot, and everyone could see their capabilities.

So what if they donated 100,000? They could earn it back in two more games, or even one if they were lucky.

In this situation, their willingness to donate was naturally a good thing but if other weak people in the community also donated, they might not be able to earn visa time later, and then others would find it awkward whether to help or not.

Jiang He also happily raised her hand, ”I’ll also donate 50,000!”

Everyone looked at her, momentarily speechless.

Li Renshu said half-jokingly, ”You don’t think ’donate what you can afford’ doesn’t apply to you, do you?”

But Jiang He’s attitude was much more determined than Qin Yao’s, ”It’s fine, I’ve already thought it through, donating 50,000. I also want to contribute to everyone, and this is also a kind of motivation for myself!”

Everyone looked at each other and said nothing more.

Since she was willing to donate, that was her freedom. One word of advice was enough to show they cared, a second would be somewhat impolite.

Zhou Guifen suggested, ”Then let me also donate a little? Just 100, as a token gesture.”

Everyone thought this was a good idea, so Qin Yao, Zhou Guifen, Xu Tong, and Zheng Jie each donated 100. They were relatively protected weak members of the community. Although they could have donated nothing at all, donating a little was also a way to participate.

Soon, everyone completed their donations.

[Initial ’Community Luxury Goods Fund’ balance: 370,400.]

Seeing this number, everyone praised it.

”So spendthrift!”

Using so much visa time to buy luxury goods would probably make other communities vomit blood but just then, a new notification appeared on the big screen.

[Detection: Community public fund total exceeds 300,000. Vending machine product list updated. Please check for yourselves.]

Seeing this notification, everyone was stunned.

”Hmm? An unexpected bonus?”

Li Renshu carefully examined the specific wording of this notification. It mentioned ’total public funds’ exceeding 300,000, meaning Community 17’s security fund and luxury goods fund combined reaching this amount would qualify.

Or if there were other funds, they could also be counted but they had to be community-controlled funds, not someone’s private property.

Like Lin Sizhi and Wang Yongxin, their personal visa time should have reached 300,000 long ago, but no such notification had appeared.

Everyone hurried to the vending machines to check.

Compared to the previous product list, many new items had indeed been updated, including more varieties of food, clothes, daily necessities, luxury goods, and medical supplies.

Besides these, there was also a special item they had never seen before.

Xu Tong pointed at a standalone entry in surprise, ”Look at this!”
