Endless Evolution: Last Star

Chapter 1619 1619: Meteor

Merra found herself in a difficult situation. It was only because Adam attacked the young man with his spectral blades that Merra had the opportunity to attack and kill him.

But they had no more trump cards left against the girl. Adam was too slow and not strong enough, and Merra couldnʼt do anything because of the water shackles binding her body.

The truth was that if Merra had been in such a situation anywhere else, she would have been guaranteed to die. No one would have helped her, and no one would have been able to do so in time.

If it werenʼt for two factors, one of which was a little further away from the basement, it would have been all over for Merra.

...

BLAST!

The crimson blast threw the muscular man and woman aside. Their golden fire and lightning bolts wanted to tear Zargosʼs flame apart, but they didnʼt have enough power to do so.

”Shit! How the hell is he so strong? How much energy does he have?” The woman spat out a clot of blood. It was already the third wound she had received in just a minute of their fight.

The muscular man looked at the burn on his shoulder and nodded calmly.

”Yes. He has definitely become much stronger lately. Itʼs all because of Adam Vinter, isnʼt it?” He stared at Zargos.

Before Zargos could answer, Morok stepped forward with a menacing stride.

Darkness followed him, scorched by Zargosʼs flames, but striving to recover its former glory.

He answered instead of Zargos.

”Of course it is. Thatʼs why he saved him, so he could evolve.”

However, Zargos was not in the mood for jokes. He was holding his own against the three of them, and even Morok was not a serious challenge for him.

Still, there was a deep frown on his face. More than a minute had passed, and he had not been able to defeat any of them.

ʼShit, I thought it would take me no more than 30 seconds. If I donʼt deal with them right now, I might lose Merra! Fuck it!ʼ

Tremble!

Zargosʼs aura rose sharply, forcing Morok, the man, and the woman to step aside. They didnʼt know what Zargos was preparing, but his flames were truly dangerous.

Before Zargos could take action, something caught his attention, as well as everyone elseʼs.

”Agh?”

The woman gulped.

”What the hell?!”

The previously bright and sunny sky of the living jungle had now grown darker as something caused the entire space to tremble.

Tremble. Tremble. Tremble.

In the next moment, a comet engulfed in a purple, torn flame that bent the space around it, tore through the clouds like a dark star moving straight towards Zargosʼs house.

”Shit...” Zargos muttered as he knew what was about to happen.

Without resistance, the comet broke through the solid stone layers, and even the blocks protected by runes were no obstacle for it. Its power was devastating, and the worst part was that Zargos knew who it was.

He glanced at Morok and the others.

”Guys, donʼt take this as overconfidence, but if I were in your shoes, I would run as far away as possible.”

Morok frowned. He understood that the situation had gotten worse for them, but he didnʼt understand how much worse.

...

Step.

Shocked, Merra took a step back. She didnʼt yet understand that someone had saved her. She was acting on instinct.

”Agh... Agh... Agh...”

Merra was breathing heavily as the dust slowly cleared.

”GHA!” The girl coughed up a clot of blood as she clenched her teeth. ”What the? Let me go, you bastard!”

Adam blinked several times in disbelief.

He stared at the woman with long crimson hair falling below her shoulders like a fierce flame, with amber eyes and an athletic, lean build full of strength.

Distantly, she resembled Zargos, especially in the sharp features of her face, just...

ʼItʼs like his female, more intimidating and serious version,ʼ he thought, and that was pretty close to the truth.

The woman looked at Merra.

”Are you okay?”

”Y-Yes,” Merra nodded with a trembling voice.

”Now you.” The woman looked at the girl. ”Who the hell are you, worm?”

The girl glanced up, gathering water streams to attack the woman.

”Tsk, you think Iʼm going to tell you that?”

The woman didnʼt react, instead grabbing the girl by her left arm.

”Agh?”

Fear reflected in her eyes.

Crack!

In a sharp movement, the woman tore off the girlʼs arm. She threw it against the wall with such force that her arm exploded into bloody shreds.

”Iʼll ask you again. Who are you?” Her voice grew lower.

The girl was in shock, which is why she hesitated for a second. For the woman, it was too long as she reached for the girlʼs face.

”Wait, wait!”

The woman didnʼt stop, emotionless, she ripped out the girlʼs right eye, crushing it in her fist.

”FFUCK! Y-You! FINE! Weʼre from the Sword Squad! Morok is my commander! We came here for him!”

She screamed, looking at Adam.

”Weʼre here because of Adam Vinter! Because of that bastard! We must capture or kill him!”

She had said enough, but continued, out of fear or anger.

”That bastard Zargos! He only made everything more difficult! SHIT!”

The woman nodded as she reached out her hand toward the girl, her palm hovering above her.

”I see. Thatʼs enough.”

Before a smile could appear on the girlʼs face, pressure descended upon her.

Barely noticeable purple waves emanated from the womanʼs palm, one after another, until they turned into vertical particles of energy, tearing through space.

TREMBLE!

An invisible force pinned the girl to the ground. She couldnʼt even lift her head because of the monstrous pressure weighing down on her.

ʼWait...ʼ Adam said to himself. ʼSheʼs not going to stop?ʼ

”WAAAAIT!”

The girlʼs scream echoed before gravity crushed her, leaving only a bloody stain and chunks of flesh in her place.

The woman didnʼt even flinch, even though half of her face was covered in blood.

She got up and walked past Merra, who didnʼt even have the strength to get up.

Step. Step. Step.

With each step, the pressure increased as soon as she towered over Adam.

”Hey, you are—!”

Before he could say anything, the woman grabbed him by the neck and lifted him off the ground.

”Adam Vinter?”

Her grip tightened.

”I kill those who cause trouble for my brother. Do you know that?”

All Adam could think about at that moment was Zargosʼs words about his sister.

Now, he was in a really difficult situation.
